Well, as I stated above...it was the PCV system. No more smoke, or oil pooled in the turbo. The car didnt smoke when it was hot, it smoked whenever it hit boost. Everything is fixed now though :thumb:

Also, the compressor wheel in the turbo spins easily, but when I remove my finger from the compressor, it stops...it doesnt keep spinning. Should it keep spinning after I spin it, or should it just be a loose spin when I spin it with my finger?
I swapped from a 13g to a 14b over the weekend in my automatic 92 TSi AWD. I got the 14b bolted up, and noticed that the two coolant lines with the banjo bolts on the sides of the turbo were too small to swap from the 13g to the 14b. I wanted to test something out, so I locked off the coolant...
Is it a turbo car? Where is it leaking from? That info would help out. It could just have a bad oil cap, and oil could be seeping around the gasket and getting in the valve cover, then pooling out onto the ground. Its a common thing, ask him where the leak is coming from, or where the oil is.
It only took 10 hours because I had to figure out the problems with the bolts (The banjo bolts on the sides of the turbo), and I had to work with a lot of rusted bolts. It only took about an hour to get it back together. :thumb:
I got it all together, but i'll tell you....it was a bi***. A few bolts were different, and that screwed me all up. But its all together finally...after 10 hours :shhh: :sneaky:
I have a 92 TSI AWD auto...and my turbo took a shit, and I finally got my 14b in. I searched, but almost everything is for 2g. The 2 setups look pretty close. From what I can see, this should just be a direct unbolt/bolt up, right?
Mine did the same damn thing. 70k original miles. I was out following a few friends that were racing and a big screen of smoke came out of the exhaust. The compressor is locked up...but it will still turn about 1/2 inch going either which way. I can still drive my car, its just balls slow...

As some of you know from my other thread, my 92 talon tsi awd has a bad piston ring, and 3 bad exhaust valves. Ive been looking at some parts, and decided to get 2g 8.5:1 pistons, SS valves, MLS headgasket, and a ported 2g exhaust manifold. Now my question is, will I be alright to run those...

I just got done with the leak down. From left to right....each cylinder pushed air through the exhaust manifold. The #4 cylinder pressed oil out of the oil cap though (cyl farthest to the right). Now what would you guys suggest? All new valve train, and piston rings?
