Checked the throttle cable and its so loose its almost falling off so i dont believe thats it. The IAC is almost brand new so i doubt thats it (although there is a small crack in it from being over tightened, could that be an issue?) Fairly sure no boost leaks but i will double check on that...
Just when i thought I had this bug squashed... The car has been sitting under a cover for about 4ish months now and at the end of the summer when it was put under the cover, the idle issues had been fixed but now its back and worse than ever. I've gone through everything i can think of (yet...
I know there are a bunch of threads covering idle surge but I've tried a bunch of different suggested fixes and nothing has worked. The car started surging right as it gets warm and switches off from cold idle. So already the IAC motor has been replaced with a brand new one, checked for vacuum...
Hi, I'm having problems with my 98 6 bolt swapped gst. I've had the car for about 2 years and since the day i bought it the idle has been not working correctly. Once the car gets warm the idle jumps around from about 2500-1500 RPMs and will never sit still. More recently it will idle at about 4k...
So my car has a 6bolt swap and i noticed the other day that the idle speed sensor is missing the wire thats supposed to be connected to it. I havent looked into it much as i dont know much about dsms yet. Can anyone tell me where the wire should be coming from or link me to a wiring guide? Thanks!
Ok so ive owned my 98 gst for about 3 months and the guy i bought it from knew nothing about it and said that all the work had been done by a previous owner. Ever since then we've been finding out that this guy did know anything about what he was doing and turned it into a mess.So the...
So I've just recently bought a 98 gst and the previous owner gave me an ECM link disk and cable to use. So I've installed the disk on my laptop and when i plug the cord into the car and the laptop ill run the program and all that happens is this screen(this is the screen that comes up before the...
I say keep it.. after just buying my first car i think it would've been very cool to have my first car be a car that my dad and I had built up for years.
Thanks on all the feedback guys. I think my dad and i are gonna try to knock it out over a weekend. I was hesitant to do it myself because im not sure if i have the time to do it, but now that i think about it i I'd rather not get a shop to do it and they end up messing something up. Thanks for...
Hi all,
So im fairly sure i have a blown head gasket. I've looked around and have seen that people are paying about $1000-1500 to get it fixed at a shop. Im considering doing it myself but i know its a big job (i've heard its somewhere around 10 hrs?)
I was wondering if it's worth it to do it...
