No i didn't sell the 350z i still have it. Its more of my show/fun car and the talon will be my "racecar" lolI do have a build thread for it a few posts up
Well damn I have neglected this car A LOT.... Its almost been a year since I last touched that darn thing!
But have no fear, updates are here!
~Decided on staying with Talon look
~Car has ZERO rust
~16g Turbo
~External wastegate with atmospheric dump
~Brand new suspension
~Brand new...
Well i have no clue what i was thinking with that spoiler and those rims that day (See previous post)...?
Anyways, those rims and spoiler are Looooonng gone and never to be seen again.
I have decided that i will be converting it from a talon to a 2gb gsx. Although talon is rare, i have put too...
Yeah gofer i love the red.. i am just kind of sick of having had 4 red cars already. I want different.
And my car is F U L L Y stripped. The whole engine bay, the door jams, and every single red part of the car will be repainted (If i decide to go that route)Here is another option i have...
Do u have a paint code for this beast? & where are you going to order from?
I dont even know what company would make this color maybe house of colors?
U can pm me.. I promise not to copy, just interested. This is expensive work..
I like the TC color but it still reminds me of primer color lol..And totally agree on cop magnet.. My dads isf is that SGM color and i just love it, looks so sleek IMO.
But, i actually do like red/black combo on dsms. Plus red is my favorite color.
The only thing is my previous 2 cars were...
I am going to be repainting my whole entire 2g talon tsi..
I have the option of picking any color i want at this point and im basically stuck here.
basically have it narrowed down to 2 colors. The red that is on the talon right now, or smokey granite mica off of a Lexus ISF.
Opinions...
Yeah, i would definitely spend the few extra bucks to get VHT engine enamel from autozone. I mean, i know its like $8 you can save, but it will look like crap after a while because i would imagine it would develop surface rust. Plus you want customers to keep coming back, no?
Trust me if i can do it. You can do it. Just make sure you do some homework before hand and grasp the basic concept of link. You can test the car out, i mean its just bolt ons, correct? You just wont feel 100% power but enough to know the car is mechanically sound
With AEM i know there are base maps which you are able to adjust only slightly and have the car run well for you. I would assume that with dsmlink this is the same? But like dot45 said you need to stay away from boosting the car on your way there regardless and besides that i dont see why you...
I just realized i was reading the OPs post the opposite way as described. (Facepalm) thought it was fans turned off when ac was on. On that note dont listen to me, going to sleep now. Good night and good luck! Total fail
Im not entirely sure how it works on dsms because i myself am pretty new so hopefully somebody with the right answer can chime in here and help you out. But in my situation regarding the porsche.. Somebody had hacked up the wiring of the cooling fan switch so the cooling fans ended up ONLY...
Anyone want to pay for a turbo mani for me :)? Jk and bo0st do you have any more pics with the gas door open? I feel like this SHOULD be an easy fix if a kid could break it that easily
Sounds like a similar problem my dads old porsche had. I vaguely remember something about a switch.. But if you say it wants to overheat thats probably not going to be your problem
On a safe base tune you should be able to make it in my opinion without a problem as long as you dont have a lead foot.. Obviously take it around the block and test it out to see how everything is functioning. You could also "beat" on it a bit locally so you get that feel of the car and then...
hahaha I have a supra in the driveway (dad's) i think that supra owners think their cars are slow even when they are 1000hp monsters......
But on a serious note, 4g63 in a mr2 would be kick ass!
Just found this
"Correct, a camshaft profile is basically a mathematical equation, therefore it can't be copyrighted. Sometimes a company can design and produce a cam profile for a certain engine that produced large gains in HP and torque, then find out it was copied and sent offshore. Because...
I remember reading something about each brand being different in the performance aspect of each cam.
Im going to try and find the thread (i think it was a thread)..
I am on the same boat as you as far as cams go. I know HKS and Kelford are well known and widely used on dsms.. But i also am wondering about BC cams because, honestly, they are cheaper.
ANY first car is a money pit in my honest opinion. I am also fairly young but i have been around cars all of my life. Don't let the fact that it is pre modified scare you off. Although i agree you should be careful and definitely have it checked by a pro!Plus dsms are plentiful in the...
My friend dipped his car. It turned out well & he used the spray gun.. But i feel that for the price of dip you might aswell just buy actual paint and clear...
Today consisted of a long day going to Junkyards, even out of state, in order to find some 5-spd manual swap parts.. Was an interesting day.
Also messed around with extra rims we have laying around the house.Inb4spoilerflaming :argue:
At first i was like Worst ending ever, i hate you.
And then.. And THEN..!! Yes, i am happy about this lol
This car is obviously meant to be with you, and only you.
Alright folks, well I haven't been really active with this car since the last update..
Hmm.. i guess ill call this update the March-April update or somethingAnyways, I took apart the new engine and inspected it. Holy SH!@#T is it clean! I am honestly surprised the cleanliness of this new...
My main concern about that crankshaft is not OEM specs.. i believe they are pretty darn accurate. But.. the material its made from? Idk maybe the material is good and i personally have no experience with them. Guess you can be the test dummy :D
