Much more has happened since the last post. the battery was relocated to the trunk successfully. The car had a flawless first start and ran perfect. only issue being that I shred 4 alternator belts before i realized the bolt that holds the alternator bracket was just a tad bit too loose. Once I...
Decided to take the Evo to one of the local tracks. It probably wasn't my best judgment to track a car that had nearly 300k on the dash. Long story short. She spit a rod out.
The morning ofGot it home immediately pulled the motor and got to workCleaned the engine bay. Before & After...
Finally got around to doing this 5 lug swap on the Evo. Ended up taking the front hubs from a 1g dsm and rear hubs from an evo 8. All new wheel bearings were installed. Got to finally install my TE37 and lower it a little more. I used mitsubishi FTO rear rotors and 2g GSX front rotors.
Little bit of catching up to do but here we go. Got the car inspected to drive in the streets of Japan. The only problem I ran into is having to raise the car slightly. But no biggie. And here she was with her plates. Now I found out I have a 2100 RPM idle after the car warmed up. Ran a...
So went around removing the cage today to take a look on how it was done. First thing i noticed was that the cage was directly bolted into the chassis and didnt have a steel plate underneath. So I ended up removing the entire cage until I correct that. But I found something unexpected and made...
Pulled some more parts from the parts car evo. Found out where the 4 pot front brakes came from. They are off a z32 300zx. Its a little complicated on how this will work and im not really to sure if i will end up running it at all. But the option is there. They shaved the caliper down to fit...
And the parts car has arrived! I now have spare (blown) motor, trans t case and rear end. Bunch of other necessities as well.Went ahead and pulled the rear harness for the doors. Still need to cut holes into the frame so that i can actually wire it up properly. Saved the grommets the best i...
Correct. Mine did not come with ABS. I do believe it is not a GSR for that fact that the frame dosent even have the cuts for a wiring harness to the rear doors. Someone wired in the climate control all half assed which is probably why the blower motor does not turn off. Thats the conclusion I...
Did some more work today. Found that the harness from the rear doors are still there. Going to see whenever I have time to go to the parts car and take the harness out of that and see if it works fine.
And the fun begins. First day in I start taking the panels off to remove the gauges. And the wiring for all the gauges is really bad. Typical wiring you see around here for the bases in Japan. So the removal process begins! Under the steering column had the most wiring, one of my friends knew...
Threw in the correct climate control from my parts car. Anddddd it dosent work... I forgot if this was a working unit off the parts car so I’m not sure what happened... but my blower fan dosent want to stop. On the verge of pulling the dash out and rewiring her completely but I am on a strict...
I know there are a million and one threads about cam identity. But I cant find anything that looks like mine or somewhat like mine. They don't look stop but i can be so wrong as well. The guy who had is before me said they sounded like upgraded cams as well but not even he knew what it was...
Im thinking if anything a 1g 7 Bolt. How are the compression differences. Personally I lean more towards the 6 Bolts because the 7 Bolts have a bad reputation. But i also understand the 2g 7 Bolts and 1g 7 Bolts are slightly different as well.
Hey whats going on. I need some help choosing what kind of motor would be the best choice for me. I have a 1991 Eclipse GSX. Im trying to figure out if its best to drop a 7 Bolt in or a 6 Bolt. I want to make around 450-500 HP with all supporting mods. the 1g 7 Bolts tend to be easier and...
Nice thank you. It's my first time having a 1g. The car has no motor in it but I do plan on dropping one in. I wanted to know why this was cut off But i guess you just answered my questions. Where in the wiring harness would this plug in.
Buying a DSM the other day I found a power transistor unit with wires cut inside the car. The power transistor says
Mitsubishi
POWER TR UNIT
J122
8507Where does this go? What does it do?It's a 1991 Eclipse GSX
Thank you for being a lot of help and offering so much help. I took the old ones off the 95 takin that were beat and exchanged those. I'm keeping the calipers from the 99 . But I got new calipers and also the old 99 calipers that I plan to repair. And pm me for something
Im going to try this since I really got nothing to lose. Right now I have four calipers in my garage that I can't use. But if it really comes down it it I'll just get new calipers. Thanks for the help guys!
The calipers are almost new. Less than two years old and they were purchased at Mitsubishi. I actually want to save as much money possible because I cant really afford a new caliper
Well I have a garage and my Brakes were acting up this morning so I decided to put the car in the garage and see what I can do. And how does bleeding it from the banjo bolts go? I would like to know more about that actually.
So I have had almost no luck since I picked up this 95 Eagle talon. Seems like it can't stay running for more than a week. This morning the brakes stopped working... I found my problem and took the calipers off my 99 Parts car. Put it on this car and when I go to bleed it, the nipple on the...
Currently my trans is leaking oil and it has ruined my ACT 2600 clutch. I don't know exactly where the leak is coming from but it is a big leak indeed. About 5 months ago I did a clutch on my car and installed this brand new ACT 2600 and pulled my motor out. When I pulled my motor out and took...
Alright guys I got more questions on this! I found more wiring that I have no idea where it goes.. This stuff isint on my 99 so I can't look at my other car for reference.
Recentley purchased a 95 Eagle talon and as I'm checking on some things I run into this. This has a little monitor that reads and average of 14.7. It looks like its connected to where the old o2 Sensor was? Im not to sure but it even has a VGA port on it!
Swapping leather seats on a 96 spyder. found the connectors because the seats are power. But the seats still wont move. Any suggestions? a 96 Spyder GS
I actually had a problem similar to yours where my low mileage clutch started slipping. It was the flywheels fault and i ended up having to get a new clutch and flywheel. The clutch was destroyed
So I fixed most of my problems with my car and there is one big problem left. I can turn the blower motor on without having the key in the ignition. I just cant think of what may be causing this. Everything else is okay. The blower motor is the only thing that can turn on without the key in the...
