I may need to move the turbo away from the fire wall. Where it sits in picture the downpipe is going to have a very hard 90.If I pull it away from firewall I will have to have the turbo stick out the front bumper. Not sure what I want to do yet.
Rough turbo placement. Trying to get compressor inlet half on headlight half on front bumper. Any lower the talon 2gb bumper fog holes come into play. From these pictures below it may need to go up ~1". Not going to buy new bumper, may just make some panels to cover the fog holes. Also wont be...
Tube front end is coming along well. Waiting on the boosted fab north/south bar to finalize. It is setup to be bolt on.I was able to attend the 1/8 mile event at grove city, my local track. The same guy that won it last year swept it again this year in the small tire. This motivation sparked...
Got a 15x10 rim for cheap. Wanted to see how it would fit. Rim it’s self clears everything, even with the wider fender the rim pokes out ~1”. The guy I got the rim from has a full set with M&H 12.0/26.0r15. Tire would hangout another inch on each side. So about 2inch of poke out, not sure about...
Got the oil pump I have been waiting for. Next is deciding on a turbo so I can start fabricating the front end. Currently debating between a g45 and 115 xona. I believe xona came out with some compressor maps that I will have to look into.
Project at work as been consuming most my time, small update finally with some better pictures.Converted the steering rack to manual, gonna order a set of moog inner and outter rods for it and call it good. Also got some AR carbon fenders and a fiberglass race dash. Hopefully going to...
Fuel pressure regulator came in, torched a bracket out of some aluminum I had laying around. Also finished the hatch cover for the cell. Bent by hand using relief cuts on .08 aluminum, gets the job done for clearance . Rear drive shaft is mounted, I need to double check that I installed the...
I offered the guy 1200 and he agreed but he ended up selling it to someone else without telling me. I would never do that to a buyer, made me upset. Still looking for a similar turbo if anyone has one. Otherwise here is another shitty IPhone 7 picture
Found this for sale, guy is asking 1200. Not sure about its condition guy says good to go. Thinking of pulling the trigger on this and sending it to FP to get it rebuilt. SUPER99
Got a master clutch cylinder, third driveshaft section and a TR1245R intercooler on the way. Tax return is gonna be blown on a turbo, really torn between the 9569 and 10569 xona.
Just out of curiosity, the way that fuel cell is setup is not NHRA approved correct? I have a 15gal speedway cell mounted in the trunk, working on a fire shield. Never thought of that design where its a big cutout to the tank, that would be wayyyyyy easier than what Im working on.
Solid Mounts, cross member, Fuel pump, slave cylinder + SS line and clutch pedal came in. Also picked up a 98 split thrust long block locally for a very good deal.... at least I think it was.Eagle Crank
Eagle Rods
Wiseco 1400HD 9:1
Felpro MLS HG
ARP L19 Head studs
Frerra Valves
BC springs and...
Painted the under carriage along with the wheel wells. Three coats of POR15 and two of the top coat. I routed the fuel feed up to the firewall, still going to have to figure out the vent and return. I cant just put a 180 fitting on there as it hits the cell. Also got the brake master cylinder...
I bought it from a guy named Michael out of IL, he only had it for a few months. He bought it from Scott who I think is in MI. I bought the FT ecu and stuff from Scott. The guy who originally had the car built has a profile on here, from Colorado. Thats about all I know.
Yeah he does them in batches I would think, I will just be patient and hopefully get it over the winter.PARTS RECIEVED

Got the fuel cell mounted with some left over chromoly. Ordered an AEM inline pump to run for my primer pump to the mechanical, also ordered all lines and fittings to get it plumbed to firewall.Turned my attention back to my green 2g that I was doing rust repair on the passenger rocker. Going...
Removed the front subframe, brake lines and fuel lines. Going to be using POR 15 on the under side. Before I coat anything I want to get the new fuel setup installed. Currently working on the mounting should have that done this weekend. Today I cut off the throttle body flange on the JMF intake...
Took the auto rear differential apart. I can tell this thing made some jam, has some discoloration/embedded particles on the viscous coupler.Any chance someone has here can sell me this part? Also looking to buy a 2g clutch pedal. Got all the DSS axels only need to find that third section of...
The rear subframe has been coated just waiting for the bushings to come in. Also mocked up an aluminum frame for the lexan, needs more support bars. Otherwise it will work for what I want to do. Final version will be tinted. I have aluminum to make door cards too. The chromoly came in for the...
Finishing up my other projects and am starting to put my effort towards this build.Dogbox came in last week, built by shep trans. Its going to end up sitting on a shelf for more than likely till next summer.I pulled the rear differential out of a buddies manual 1g. Plan is to drop the...
Got the transfer case the other day. Still waiting on chromoly, I have been told we are in a shortage. Planning on traveling to Chicago to pick up the dogbox, DSS front hubs/axles, and DSS driveshaft late may early June. Need to find a machine shop local to MN for the block. MAP seems like the...
I measured the main and rod journals which all checked out. I positioned the crank back in the block while i did some polishing. This is one of the rod journals i got done. I plan on remeasuring everything once polished to see where its at. Need to order some block fill so i can get it sent...
Blue Blaze was the member that built this car. It ran out in colorado and from my understanding was one badass ride. I drove 11hrs to illinois to pick this up and bring it back to Minnesota. I have had the car for about a month. Spent some time stripping it down (not much to strip) and getting...
Just to add to this i have been running factory evo 8 pistons on 1g rods for little over a year in my 2g. Got a really good deal on them, dropped it off at the machine shop and they guy took care of it. Stumbled across this post because i plan on turning the car up this season and was curious to...
hey I have been searching and coming up empty for searching for rings for my set up.What i have is evo 9 pistons that are stamped e9k1 that are .02 over they are stock mitsubishi pistons, they are on 6 bolt rods that are going on my 7 bolt motor. I got the set up for very cheap with all the...
i just made one of these too actually for my 16g. My concern is that the throw of the modified holset/MHI. When i put 20 pounds of pressure to it, the flapper barley moves. So when i bump it up to 25 pounds of compressed air, the flapper moves roughly 1/4". And when i put 30 pounds i get about...
that was one of my concerns i didnt know if closing the sides off was right or wrong. I can weld something up to seal it up. then you think it will function pretty good?
I recently picked up a mishimoto radiator and fans for my 2g DSM. I went ahead and made a shroud out of aluminum. It is very rough, but would like to hear what you guys have to say. Im curious to see if the way i have it made will help or actually hurt my cooling system. thanks for any input
yeah jumping into a dsm that modified can be a challenge. Especially if you didnt install or dont know much about what he all did. I think the car is worth it. Just like you said TIKI, if it had a good clutch its a 8k car.
400-450hp on pump gas, 550's and a 16g to me sounds like a big task. I dont know if a 16g can get you into the 400-450 i know you can go deep into the 300's but i would maybe look into a different turbo if your goal is around the 450whp. But defiantly larger injectors and a good way to tune!!
check your base timing, if you have a 95 and have a inverted CAS this could be the problem, if you have a 1g CAS then adjust it to make sure its at 5* BTDC. Improper adjustments will cause high rpm break up. I went through this problem with my inverted CAS and had to switch to a 1g CAS that i...
