Any interest? I just want it to go to a good home, make me any half crazy offer! There is a metal recycler coming through on Friday, if there isn't any interest, I may just send it off with them.
Dumping my DSM stuff that I have amassed for my GSX. Will fit all turbo DSMs, Talon TSI Lasers etc. Must take all of it. Tons of misc parts including:1st Gen intercooler (good condition)
2nd Gen ported O2 sensor housing
1st Gen Hacked MAS (unknown condition)
4G63 Valve cover (good condition)

As I mentioned earlier, I'm very busy at this point, and have very little time so unless you really make it worth my while, I would prefer to sell it locally ( hence the low price). I'm in the Pinole/Hercules area, so anyone interested, feel free to PM me to set something up.
pm replied. I have been working crazy hours lately, and will continue to do so for the near future, so would prefer to sell to someone local at this point.
One other thing you may want to check is if it is a bad ground to your gauge cluster. I had the exact same problem, and I would keep on messing with the sending unit, and it would work for a while before crapping out again. Finally, I had an unrelated problem with the gauge cluster, and in...
I've been to Thunderhill Raceway in Willows twice in the last 6 months for open track days. I always offer it up to others in the North West forum, but out of the 4 times I've been to an open track event, the closest thing I've see to DSMs are Evos. Too bad, because once you get out on that...
Sorry, should have mentioned, you will need the latest divx codec to watch the movie! Thought I had put this in the video section, but it was late last night...... Most of the footage is shot either from inside my GSX or my friends AE86.
Pretty fun event. Here is a video I thew together from some in-car footage my friend and I took. Not sure how long Comcast bandwidth will last, so my apologies in advance if the link dies out.http://home.comcast.net/~olfanatic/ThillFW2.avi
A) You will have fun if you make it
B) You won't find a cheaper track event
C) DSMs can turn!I went to this event last year, and am signed up for this year as well. Last year was great since this event is split into two groups, drift and grip. Most of the people were drifting, which...
The rarest car I could have bought was a 198x Datsun 280zx convertible. Sweetest potential for a car I have ever seen, and I've never seen another one like it since (That isn't a chop top) I could have bought it for $1300....Still kicking myself for not picking it up to this very day.Right...
Wow, post got revived from the dead!TERBOLASER: Like Babell2 said, you should be able to find the piping at any hardware store. My friend did soldering to join most of the pipes, I'm not sure if you plan on doing that or notBabell2: How do you like the piping you did? How long ago...
Leet,What path would short route piping take for this type of intercooler? I'll stick with this piping for the time being and see what gains I get from it, but it would only take a few hours to fabricate another route, and I'm open to suggestions.
Are you referring to the silicone couplings, or the copper ones? Either way, the silicone ones I either got from a trucking company or E-bay, and the copper ones my plumber friend got for me, I assume they probably are available at any home depot etc.
Almost done with my project. I just have to fix a boost leak from the turbo outlet and reassemble. I am pretty impressed with it. It was lighter than the steel exhaust piping that I was going to use, and it only took a few hours to fabricate with my friends help. I figure that I must have...
Ok,Lets keep the conversation friendly and productive. I have reached the point in my modification level that detonation has to be quelled. I know its not listed, but I have a decent mod list to support a big 16G. My car is modded towards being a good all around car for road-racing...
Thanks for all the replies, this is great information, keep it coming! My friend is the plumber, so I'm going to leave it up to him to figure out the details, but he said that he could make it ~2.25 all the way through. Is copper heavier than steel? The copper tubing is fairly thin-walled...
I just got done mounting up my custom intercooler to my bumper, and now I have to route the piping. I was planning on having an exhaust shop fabricate it, but my friend who is a plumber said it would be possible to do it with copper piping he has laying around. The idea is feasible, and will...
Well,Sounds like your friend is set on it. I hope that it works out for you guys. I bought a 93 Tsi from CT, and it didn't require any additional parts to pass CA smog, but it varies from state to state.Even in the best case scenario, this is definately going to be a project car...
I saw that one on CL. The guy has been trying to hock it for some time now. Just off what I have seen posted, I wouldn't buy it. Granted, any DSM you find for 1k or so is going to have problems, this one bothers me.If you can't get it into gear, could be something other than the...
My car ranges between 20-24 MPG 50/50 highway city. Funny thing was when I was out of state I was getting 24-28 MPG. I guess I chalk it up to crappy 91 octane MTBE garbage we get in CA.One other note, although the fuel capacity is 15.9, don't ever try to run it that low. I ran my car...
I haven't heard of having to do that before. Hopefully I don't have as much trouble :D I heard that the sensor shouldn't be too tight or too loose, otherwise you get all kinds of knock. Anyone know exactly how tight it should be??
If you have high miles on the car, your knock sensor might be bad. I have a similar problem with my talon, and will be replacing the sensor within the next couple weeks. If it solves the problem, I'll report back.
Yep,Anything that you can do yourself, do it! I try and tackle as much as I can, and have learned a hell of a lot in the process ( What is the saying? DSM, making mechanics out of normal people since 1989) However, I did the timing belt once on a talon I had, and swore I'd never do it...
Actually, it was a brand new filter on there. The unimpressive results of a new filter were what led me to take the plunge and install this new systemYeah, I know oh too well about the garbage 91 octane we have out here. You know, with the cost of gas, it's probably about the same cost...
No, it's not the typical " did this now I can crank up the boost!" post. ;)The upgrade ( upgrades the filter to the fuel rail portion)replaces a few points of restriction:1) low flowing Fuel filter
2) tiny hole on banjo bolt at top of filter
3) fuel rail fittingThe steve-tek...
In my quest to cure my car's lean condition, I started doing some research on how to get more fuel into my car. With a gas-hungry Big 16G, I was leaning out big time, to the point that I couldn't run higher than 10 lbs of boost without substantial knock, and even when I upgraded to 550's and a...
Hey Guys,I'm thinking about upgrading my fuel system, and I came across this part on DSMTrader that adapts the stock fuel rail to an AN6 fitting. I was planning to run stainless line from the fuel tank up to the filter, and use a K&N high flow AN6 filter. Is this a worthy part, or do you...
Ever since I purchased my 94 GSX, the Gas Gauge would intermittantly get stuck at 1/8 of a tank. It would work for a few tanks, then stick for a few more in exactly the same place- about an 1/8th of a tank. This last time it has been stuck for about 3 months, so I guess it is stuck there for...
