I apologize for the lack of updates lately. My spare time has been consumed by family and other cars. During the time I have been MIA I have mainly been working on rewire, removing 10lbs. This Memorial Day weekend, while I had family visiting, we dropped the original subframe to replace it with...
Thanks for the support guys! The car runs and drives with no issue. When the bearing spun replaced the engine with another and put the original on a stand for rebuild.I am going to stay with a the 16g for the time being, but eventually planning on going with the gtx30r or gtx35rIn the...
History:
This car was the 1 of 6 DSM I have own that I wouldn't even think about bringing out of the garage on a rainy day. That was until September 2013 when it spun a rod bearing because of dropped oil pressure and I decided it was time for a complete transformation.Goals:
My goal is mainly...
I had the same issue when I swapped my engine. Slow crank that would die out and not start. Checked all connections, changed batteries, and starters, but still had an issue. Finally decided to give it a little starting fluid for that initial combustion, started and haven't had a problem since.
Welcome to the forums! The first thing I recommend you should do to your DSM is maintenance. Second, you should do extensive research on the forums before making any modifications. As for things you shouldn't do, I recommend no showing off or street racing. We all know how good the throttle...
The taboo vacuum diagram has everything you need. The overwhelming clutter associated with the emissions vacuum is probably the cause of you thinking there is more to it.
Is the idle rough? I just had the same issue. I dropped the oil pan and seen metal shavings. Then I examined the rod bearings and found that was the issue.
If I owned a 1G, I would get me one of those portable phones. It would be modded to be plugged into the headphone jack of my cellphone, like my ear buds with a mic. :hellyeah::cool:
Let me try to understand this... You took this pulley off, but the toothed crank timing gear that the 4 bolts hold onto to and that sits in the middle/behind is broken, won't come off. Does that sound about right?
I still can't make any promises, but I am hoping I can be there. Here is my story...
I am waiting on a oil pan for my GSX in the mail because the previous owner got a little happy with the gasket maker and I had to pry it off. I removed the oil pan because I spun a rod bearing. We will see if I...
I was browsing the forums on my phone and didn't see that what engine you had. I honestly have no experience with the 420a. From what I have read though, 420a doesn't have a design flaw that causes crankwalk like the 4G63. I am not saying it can't happen. Personally I don't think the clutch...
It doesn't hurt to unplug it. IMO dry rubbing the thrust bearing before it has the chance to be properly lubed is a no no. When your car sits the oil settles and engaging the clutch without oil circulating causes friction.
Picked up this donor/parts rebuilt title GST from a street racer kid last night for $1100. Drove it for about an hour without any issues except for idle surge and no 2nd gear. Today I started clearing out the other side of the garage and further inspected the GST. Typical street racer build with...
The word orphanage was used instead of family reunion. I just thought I'd word it differently for those on the forums who may have been orphaned."You better sleep on your back or I will."
The title of this thread says it all...Putting a huge exhaust on a Honda is like jerking off at a family reunion, physically you can do it, but it's frowned upon.
A breaker bar does the trick if you don't want to spend the money on an impact. Make sure you pay attention to the torque rating on the impact if you do decide to go that route.
