Anything you do to improve spool of going to limit the power of that turbo. Look into the smallest turbo that meets your power goals (whatever they may be). After that you can do a 2.3L 10:1 compression or 4G64 2.4L or 2.5L. The best thing to do for a very large turbo is to do a 2.1 destroker so...
Get a bigger motor or smaller turbo maybe nitrous. That turbo will never spool at 4500 RPMs. You want a 700hp motor that spools like that? You'd need a supra.
I was wondering how your car idles. My pinout is the same and following it made my car idle high. I had to switch ISC motor coils B1&B2 for it to idle down. Thanks.
The pin from the tractrix cable goes to EVO 8 ECU pin 79. What you should do is run a wire from pin 79 with a clip to slide it onto the pin on the cable.
It doesn't go to your OBDI port under the dash.Agreed and no you can't run a 1g sensor. Although you can run a 2g sensor which would be...
Maf comp Up for lean, down for rich. That's how you get it to match your fuel map. There are different techniques for injector scaling I like to go by trims personally.
If you trying to tune new injectors and have your fuel map line up. Your fuel trims have to be within 5%. And for WOT you have to adjust your maf Comp so you're air flow calibrations are correct.
Maybe you need to splice 13 and 56 together on the H8 pin 8. I'm not sure. 2g ECU swaps used to be more popular. I can't believe no one else had run into this issue in the past. Without it in front of me I can't say much else without going into guessing territory.
Why ground that pin? With it ungrounded, in pin 56 does it run? If not you have a patch harness issue. Unless there a some reason to do that in not aware of. When it runs on the stock ECU and not the reflashable ECU that usually means its your harness.
For a good BLT you should use water and dishsoap. You could have a wastegate issue or an exhaust leak.
If your running rich it's probably a boost leak.
If you drive it around alittle and look for exhaust soot you can find a leak.
If the wastegate is bent bend it back or get a new one. Or try...
You switched the fuel pump to pin 56 correct? If you power the fuel pump directly dies it run? It sound like that could be your issue. I had a similar problem with a incorrect pinout diagram. Although it was with the EVO 8 ECU it would start and die. Then I used the connector in the engine bay...
That exhaust housing is very small it will probably surge pretty good. You won't max out the turbo on that housing. You might as well get a small 16g if your worried about spool. But it will probably hit like a freight train.
The error you are getting means there is no definition file/XML file. That is what defines the tables and scalars ect. What you need to do is drop the ceddy XML file in the romdata<eclipse directory I believe it's called. Than you open the ceddymods rom in ecuflash, reflash with the mod file...
Wouldn't it be easier to just put in a headunit and run a USB from tablet into deck? Are you trying to get rid of the need for a deck? Also you can get a Bluetooth deck and have the tablet hook to it and place the HU into the dash and forget it's there. You really should do it the easiest way...
Well you could do the head work/timing belt and use that with the 16g. With the green you'd need at least 880cc injectors and probly a 255lph pump. Probably a fuel pressure regulator also. The 16 will be cheap reliable and fast.
It's worth what you are willing to pay. If it has a rebuilt motor I'd jump at it just because it gives you room to grow. I would want paperwork to prove a engine rebuild from a shop tho. "NEW" is always what you don't see. And 20psi is too high for an MHI internal wastegate so 25 is stupid. Best...
I would get rid of the green. Max out the 16g with a FMIC and some 650cc injectors. It's really the best turbo for the car in stock form in regards to throttle response, power and reliability. The green is a monster turbo your need an aggressive clutch and the lag would not be worth 20 psi. It's...
Well if you plan on going SD then I would throw on a 1g maf and filter untill then or not drive it. A good friend toasted a brand new turbo on an sti because of oil contamination.
Definitely get those receipts. When some one spends 10g's on a car and then tries to unload it under 1000 miles it sketches me right out. And keep the aem and pay someone to tune it. It's hard to street tune a car that modified.
I would have to say that unless you are mechanically inclined or want to learn to be it probably isn't a great choice. If you want to learn these cars aren't bad to cut your teeth on. Keep in mind that on top of having to buy tools and having a workspace large enough too fix everything. Any car...
No wideband? How do you know it is fuel cut? Do you have any codes? Any logging software? What are your plugs gapped at? Make sure you didn't switch any spark wires. If its coming into boost and stuttering its more likely misfire then fuel cut.
Well before any increase in boost/modifications you should get a wideband. Even just with the mods you listed you could lean out. That should be your first mod. Then a better blow off valve. The 2g BOV is not good for much more then stock pressure. Also a better fuel pump or rewire kit. And a...
I would agree evo 8/3g ecu is the cheapest way. You can get a knock sensor ecu and plugs from your local u-pull-it. I got mine for 50 bucks. Evo scan is 25 and cable is easy to get used on the evo forums for cheap. Make the jumper harness. Done.
If you want something cool for daily driver driving I would suggest a 3g or a 4g. The newest DSM you can get it 15 years old. Even if you got the perfect car with low miles and 1 owner your still looking at a lot of maintenance in the long run. I have a 1990 gsx and when I bought it I had to put...
Well your A/F estimate goes from 11.6 to 12.0 as that happens your knock increases. So you are probably too lean. Also there are no fuel trims in your log i can't say how close your tune is. On top of that you have a code in your DTCs tab. Resolve that code. Make sure you always capture fuel...
This is true. A 20g or a holset hx35 would be better for your power goals.on e85 you should be able to do it. But I didn't see anything about your clutch you need an aftermarket clutch for anything above stock power levels to avoid slipping. I'm personally a fan of spec.
I need a new steering wheel because mine bent in my hands when I totaled my first car(I gripped the wheel really tight apparently). The Belt stopped my face from hitting the wheeI. I have been thinking about it but haven't really done the research so this helps.
So the car backfiring sounds like fuel cut. Because your turbo is too big for your untuned injectors. Your profile says evo 450 injectors, if that is right turn your boost down to 11lbs or so. Buy a wideband and some larger injectors (650 cc). And then tune your car.
That is a great setup. Your BOV is aftermarket? The 2G BOV valve isn't as good as the 1G you get boost leaks at like 12 PSI. So a 1g or aftermarket BOV would be good. If you have a 14b on there already your 16g should bolt right on. Tune the car right running off pump you'll be smokin' tiburons. lol
Tunerpro is the first logger I've used other then DSMLINK. So the cable could be the problem i'm going to test tunerpro with my brother's LINK cable and if that doesn't work. Then more Troubleshooting!
The COM port changed on me before it was 3 then at 5 and then at 1. it would just randomly...
I'm currently trying log with tunerpro on a 1993 talon and i followed the guide posted by MY1GDSM. I can't connect to the ECU, it says DA Connecting... and doesnt do anything else. I'm using WIN 7, the keyspan 19HS adapter with a homemade logger cable and the ostrich. I tried to log with...
