Hey all. Another problem i have to tackle. Swear there's little gremlins living in my motor. Anyway after say about 300 miles after an oil change the oil seems diluted and is a red color. And usualy have to add a quart after about 800 miles. Would a leaky injector cause the oil to turn red...
When i ordered them they said they were for a 90' and were 450's. The part numbers are different though. Is that my issue? The tips in the black ones are longer than the blue ones.
Its a 1990 tsi. The original injectors were the blue top....i received black top ones from injector warehouse.com. after the install the car wont start. Sometimes it does but then shuts off right away. Could the black top ones be my issue? Thanks to anyone.
Hey dudes i have a 90 talon tsi bone stock. I recently changed the fuel filter and now it seems to be thinning my oil and the oil smells like gas. Any reasons for this? Before the filter swap it did not do this. Thanks for any advise.
Right but it only does it randomly. And only at idle. When the noise happens it goes away after i drive. If the piston was slapping valves wouldnt it do it all the time....? Any reasons on why the random dieing?
Just on cyl 1. Others were 140. Drives just fine otherwise. Still has power. I know i have a bent valve or something but i dont get why im having this random knock and dieing bs. This car is frustrating....specially wen its my dd and im broke...lol

I followed this same instructions.. theres pressure in the clutch just enough to start it and get it in gear but it feels very weak.i dont know what else to do.
Hey all. I just installed a new slave cylinder because the old one was shot. I bled the system about 7 times. I can start the car and get it into gear but the pedal barely has any pressure. Why is this? Thanks for any help.
Thanks guys. I just bought the car a month ago. The previous owner said it was replaced a year ago. But it does leak a greeish black color. If i move the little boot side to side it sprays out that liquid.

Thanks. Im really hoping it a valve that way i can slap a rebuilt one on and call it good until i can get a rebuilt block. I do hear puttering out the tailpipe and it does have a slight miss at idle and goes away wen i drive. Leak down test tomorrow i think.
Yea im using a "sun" compression tester. It is a bit old. Regardless somethings wrong and mind as well swap it. Too bad its my dd. Ill post up a leak down test in a day or two just to pin point the problem.
Ok ill get to a leak down test hopefully tomorrow. I looked down thru the spark plug wells.into the cylinder and all of them look brand new! Not one seems to have any carbon build up or oil on it at all!? Car has 145k on her....shouldn't i especially if rings are bad, have carbon build up...
Thanks. A bad valves makes sense to me since the car runs good and pulls hard.. if i were to take the vc off and visually inspect the valves what would i look for? And being bad rings i would have smoke and loss of power correct? The only thing that tells me the rings Are bad is blow by at idle...
Car was warm.. i do have blow by at idle...would that make greater chances rings are bad?Time for a swap. But why would my car drive good with bad rings and bad valves?
I just bought it a month ago. I have ben replacing things such as coil pack, plugs, wires ect....just wanted to check compression...ended up with looks like bad results...but as i said it runs good. Does it have bad rings?

Dry:130-140-125-60
Wet: 140-150-130-90
The car runs good, pulls hard. Steady idle doesn't bog down, no smoke except for at idle blueish smoke from bad valves seals, doesn't leek any fluids, no mix of oil and coolent, what do these results tell me and since cylinder...

Yes i did.. i took a closer look at it and now it seems its coming out of the oil cap that i just replaced... could my leaky exhaust manifold be causing my lean condition? Or mabey a clogged cat? Seems like i have excessive heat in the bay... i wish someone around my area could take a look at it
Ill look into a catch can... i found 3 small cracks, 2 were on the outside near the right corner, and one was on the inside. I fill them with jb weld and painted to cover... i then took her for a quick drive and when i got back home i saw it still leaks!! Anyway ill figure ill get a new vc.. my...
