I said in OP, pinout is "90- volume air sensor". Stock injectors. I removed safc2 and it ran like sh**- to be expected after a large MAF read change. I gave it a few days for maf to adjust, and then all of a sudden the car wouldn't start. Full gas tank. The wire was spliced very close to the...
Yes it cranks. Yes the battery has voltage, it sparks fine.On the ecu, the guage wire I used is bigger than the original wire. the original blue and yellow wire wouldn't reach from the harness to the pinout, so I put a new wire in. Is it possible the new wire is too big to carry the correct...
Yes, car is already gone, but it's my girlfriend's now. She wanted a cheap, stock dsm. She didn't like the SAFC unit on it, so I took it off, along with my wideband. The car ran like crap for a few days, so I just assumed it was MAF readjusting. I drove it around the neighborhood, real easy...
Hey guys,I removed SAFC2 from my ECU in a 1997 GST and accidentally split the pinout 90 which is the 'volume air sensor' I think. I'm guessing that is related to the MAF. Anyway, I took another large guage wire and attached the 2 split ends with it.I assumed it would work fine, the...
I definitely would not pay that much... that's pretty outrageous. The fact that it's clean and good looking doesn't change the fact that it's a 1999 Gs-T which sadly aren't worth much.Point being, I've seen better DSMs go for less. I'd say that's a $4,000 car tops.
Oh gah, turn it down soon. I had a boost controller fail on me on a t25 and the spring locked, my wastegate got stuck open and that little baby turbo hit 23 psi and blew a seal lol. Be careful until you figure out what it is and how to use it.
Punishment Racing is definitely my favorite. I love them and stand by all their work.Other than that, DO NOT buy ebay. You get what you pay for when it comes to manifolds. A lot of cheaper tubular style manifolds crack easily and have awful ugly welds so be careful with those and only buy...
Really no reason to remove it unless you have an aftermarket manifold. I had to remove mine for a Punishment Racing manifold but the actual heat shield weighs almost nothing so it won't do you any good. Also, your o2 sensor wire runs over the heat shield and if you end up removing it you'll...
I don't understand why people are all posting the largest possible injectors when OP asked for a "decent set" probably implying cheaper but worth the money.OP I suggest buying a used set of Evo injectors. Much much cheaper.EDIT: whoops didn't see that you were looking for 1200s in the OP lol :P
No, it's definitely quality steel. I removed the resonator to make it throatier and it was very tough to cut and weld, not soft metal at all. It's called Godsnow or something like that, Godspeed knockoff maybe? Shipped from inside American soil though.Thats all depending on what it will...
The truth is it's just piping. Doesn't really matter whether it's ebay or name brand. I have an ebay n1 3" turboback, paid 308 bucks and some change, and my friend has an apex'i n1 turboback that he paid over 700 for, and they both look the same, install the same, sound the same, and perform the...
I'll throw a vote out for Prosport, I'm using their EVO wideband and it's accurate and looks badass. A little pricey but when you look at what all it comes with and how good it is, it was worth the price to me.Wideband Digital Air Fuel Ratio Gauge-Amber display
If anyone knows where Ditto Landing is in Huntsville, on the 15th of March in the afternoon we're having a big meet and cruise before the NFS movie. I plan on taking my honda not my gst, but I hope to see some of you guys there.
I haven't had a lot of time with the car recently to the South's weather issue the last week or so. I should get around to it soon and I'll update, it may be awhile because I have another car to attend to at the moment. I appreciate all the help and tips you guys are giving me.
Hm. I guess it's possible... I adjusted it to release at the very top of the arm, Is it possible that the clutch is slipping because the clutch isn't fully engaging?
OEM clutch before and now. and OEM flywheel. It definitely was not the rear main seal, that was dry.Definitely engaging the gear. I tested that just to make sure I'm not "pulling a stupid" and I put it in third, and let the synchros do their job, and let it cruise in third for a sec, then...
Okay, I'm having a very weird issue. This is just out of curiosity to see what you guys think it is, as I won't have the car much longer so it's not a huge problem.Anyway, a few months back I started getting clutch slip really bad. Took the transmission apart, and my oem clutch was soaked in...
I've seen some ugly DSMs in my life, but this one is by far the king. The only thing I can think of to make it worse would be an aluminum ricer wing.1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse 5 Speed Sale or Trade
I'd be more than happy to shell out 6500 for a car that is costumed with a special battery! Must be a true track car to run on full synthetic oil and red calipers!
I'll cut him a deal, he can have my s16g for the small sum of $1500. ROFL95 Eagle Talon TSI , DSMDon't get me wrong, it's pretty. But nowhere near $18000 pretty. He seriously spent 40 grand and only makes 430??? WTF
Piping is piping, OP. I've bought eBay exhausts that sound, feel and look JUST as good as the name brand. It really isn't something worth blowing money on. IMO, the N1 is the best sound.
By the way, you need a downpipe, not a catback.
Oh, I feel stupid. I didn't read that as "how much of a gain", I read that as "how much will I be making?"... And when people starting saying "tree fiddy" and "3.50" I thought "There's no way in hell you'll be making 350 whp with that motor. :ohdamn: my bad.
I don't think the question is 'how much boost can the gas handle' so much as 'how much boost can the 420a handle'. To answer your question, I've seen guys run anywhere from the stock 12 pounds to 35 pounds, but using it in a 4g63.
Make sure fuel is getting to the rail. Most likely after sitting there for a long time something clogged up.EDIT: the filter loves to clog up on our cars, replace it.
Now you understand what I've been trying to tell you all day :DIf you can get your car running, your best bet would be to save up for a 4g63.We're not trying to screw with you, man. We honestly think your life will be a ton easier this way. And you'll have a fatter wallet, with money to...
And by that time you Eclipse will be... what, almost 20 years old? And still has almost nothing done to it? I understand what you want to do, but I have to agree with urbansmoker1... buy a newer Evo. Use that 35k loan you're talking about and buy an Evo 8 for 25k. Use the extra 10k to learn...
There's your problems. First, it's gonna be hella expensive to pay a shop for that. You said yourself that you know these cars in and out, why don't you do it yourself? Save TONS of money, and it's not like the car is your daily because it doesn't run anyway. No loss.Second, 400whp on a...
They aren't, that's what we're saying. You might as well do the mounts, they're pretty easy. But definitely start thinking about doing clutch or transmission work to fix that popout problem.
That would have to be a TON of shake. My 2g has bad mounts but it hardly shakes at all, let alone enough to pop a gear out. I've heard rumors that these cars can have problems with 1st and 3rd being bitchy and either popping out or not engaging, but have never personally had those problems...
Surprised no one has posted this yet.Try these out, OP.RRE 2nd Generation Eclipse Upgrade Path

My buddy's 1G had the same HX35 setup. He spooled around 4500, so it'll be quicker than the 40 for sure. He seems to believe Brian Crower cams are Satan, and ran HKS 272s on it, however that didn't change spool speed much. He also knifeedged. How much boost are you planning on running with it...
Okay. It's not really a huge deal cause I'll only be having problems until I go engine management with SD and that's not too far away. Thanks, all who replied
