Did he say anything about a fuel pump? Wont yield many horses but will be needed down the line.
I seen a maintenance was mentioned, may want to do a Boost leak test and maybe even a compression test for a piece of mind. This will help you get familiar with the car. You must become one with the...
Oh hey was that on the front side or back side of the block?.. This makes a big diff. (1GB Talon TSI 16G, on methanol) Lasthope05I didnt go with that back of the block, I know that guys do, I didnt feel comfortable after looking inside a spare block. I thought when at WOT and oils coming...
Ok so if anyone has read the starting post it states "has any of you done this?" I dont need a history lesson wiseman, you havent given any solutions from your own trial and errors. If a baffle is needed show me one, show me a solution, if not dont talk. This applies to landspeed aswell, you...
I did inspect another block I had laying around before doing this procedure. Now this is all speculation at this point, I noticed in that pocket of the Balance shaft didnt look like it was coated with oil like the rest of the walls in the block. They almost looked dry. Not only that I went...
Catch can will be located behind drivers headlight. Return line is alumium bent like a "Z" but with 90*s and its gonna go from the can to check valve to intake and travel under the timing belt motor mount. Ill post completed pics when done.BS's are long gone Brotha
[/IMG]I filled the block with a constant 5 psi from compressor so I could drill/tap the block without dropping shavings in of course. I also used assembly lube for taping instead of oil for the fact that assembly lube just grabs and holds all debris. Threw a 90* 1/4npt then 1/2 barb to...
My only guess is high volume vacuum source located in a heavy oiled environment. At this point the baffling in the VC is inadequate?Yes theres a check valve. when no lines are connected to the VC and its idles, no oil comes out what so ever. Only air like a good running engine would produce...
Ok heres whats happening, I have two 1/2 O.D. barbs welded on top of valve cover. One going to a check valve to catch can to intake, the other to catch can to intake turbo pipe. Much like stock, only bigger lines.Problem is PCV side is sucking tons of oil into catch can in matter of minutes...
If its a Mi car most likely its the return on or sending fuel line has a rusted pin hole at the top of the tank. Very common in our state, pop the cover off to the tank in the truck with car idling, or when ever you smell it (full tank or in a turn) and look for wetness. 2 Phillips head screws...
Welded diff/no power steering I feel go hand in hand.Broke the diff at the track one time, left the line and my car did a burn out with the front tires? I was like wtf? Looked underneath blew a hole in the trans casing from the fragments. Drove it 1 hour home with no fluid. Thought for sure...
In depth on fuel trim tuning; Injector deadtimes/latencys and scaling.STFT= Short term fuel trim- what the ECU is doing right now to get as close to stoich (14.7:1) as possible, adding or subtracting fuel over the base fuel map to reach that target.LTFT= Long term fuel trim- a stored value...
Here is the deadtimes and e85 formulas
(Note: Theres no difference between deadtimes of e85 or pump)Injector Data Compilation
These values were gathered from various sources. These may not match exactly with the values you've seen elsewhere, but they should be fairly close. The problem is that...
There used to be a big scene friday nights at a shopping center around Inster called Redline. I havent had my finger on the pulse for some years dunno if its still happening. If you go out on woodward thurs or friday nights thats were everyone went after the meet im talkin 40-50 cars. Let me...

This is the last piece of the puzzle, wanted to take the talon to the track this weekend all I needed was my stutterbox an NLTS. :hellyeah:
I proceeded to hookup the clutch wire.Cut the green wire on switch closest to FW, connected to pin 104 on ECU.
Chipped burned for 5000 stutter, clutch...
Got this fidanza fly from a junk yard for cheap, I had seen the gear was loose and bolts were stripped out, but got it anyways xoxo.I tapped the stripped out holes with 8mm/1.25 tap used for our 12mm bolt heads.Put 3, 12mm bolts in with washers, gear ring seemed real snug an hard to...

About the 2 wires going to CSS switch on stock m/t. Black wire im assuming is a ground, the green wire is ignition switched to ground. So regardless of auto or manual the black wire coming off the clutch switch is grounded?Resolved: Chip had stutterbox in the XDF and address was correct not...
Hooked up green wire from switch closest to firewall on clutch pedal to pin 104 on ECU. Since this car was an auto at one time, I dont have a connector from main harness for switch so. My first guess is ground the black wire from connector, then run the green to 104. Please correct me if im...
Goodstuff! Let you know how it goes.Afr table:
1-6 are 11.5
6-12 are 13.5Car drives, my o2s at idle are ok and wot car boosts pretty good. Thanks for the starting point guys.
First tank of E85 comped the pte 1200cc down to 736cc (Tunerpro), Idle o2 bouncing around good, WOT(.95v)bucks, o2s way rich cant even get into boost. So I try from the other side, comped to 1100cc. idle is way lean, o2 not coming off 0.03-0.05v do WOT car pulls way hard 0 knock o2 (.90-93v)...
Check the lower control arm towards the part that goes into the round cylinder bushing, ive seen those completely broke and cant see it unless pressure pushes it out of place. Your ball joint, castle nut loose?
Need to ground out the pin under the hood that will set the IAC to 0 then adjust your idle properly. Must have no boost leaks, its also a good idea to check your timing while your in there. The pin/connector is behind the battery its a black single wire connector, may still have the cap an tape...
Yes the click is always loud, is the single black wire in good shape connected to the starter solenoid? is it getting voltage? all your ground clean ie battery terminals? if the battery is old an you charged it, the polarity can be reversed.
It is supposed to click, thats the MPI relay. If the car isnt cranking is your battery dead? Terminals clean from corrosion? This is a write up on a 2g, its sounds like yours is ok. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/263224-mfi-mpi-relay.html
After eliminating your balance shafts id recommend porting your oil relief valve. Heres a good thread on it.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-engine-fuel/319342-oil-pressure-relief-valve-porting.html
Check control arms of that tire location. What your looking for is,if the car was hit there at one time. Look to see if any arms look bent, welded, or if someone has been in there before. Also if its AWD check for play in the ball joints, you can do this but jacking up the wheel, one hand on 3...
Just got the 1200cc new a few days ago, ran good on pump. Ran it empty, put 4 gallons of E85 yesterday. comped it to 804cc in Tunerpro. Started my tune WOT, pulling way hard for about an hour or two an parked it for the night. Next morning, started car, o2 narrow-ban wasnt coming off lean...
If your charging light on the dash was coming on, that is your problem. The light would come on here and there, bright an dim for me, turns out the A/C fan wires were rubbing on the power steering pulley, it had wore the coatings away and started shorting my electrical, in return making my...
The banjo bolt on the front of the turbo (coolant feed) is connected to steel tube in the shape of the letter U and bolts to the water pipe behind the turbo. if there is not a spot for it to bolt up on the water pump pipe then its a n/t h2o pipe, replace with turbo h2o pipe. Now the other...
In most cases check cooling fan wires and connectors, follow them for broken wires or unplugged connections, our cars are more then 10yrs old, a slightly cut wire from years ago will now be green an corroded if that is the case. Also there's a sensor below the cooling fan on the radiator, its a...
If the 420 has a CAS (Cam angle Sensor) sounds like it got wet. It sits at top of engine rides off the cam an has wires going to it. These are very temperamental to water, will cause a no start every time. You wont have fuel or spark.Put a volt meter on your battery, is it dead? If it doesnt...
