Finally finished the turbo install but I still have a few things to fix before it is 100% functional. Need to finish wiring all of my gauges, install a ball and spring mbc (running a bleeder style right now), do a boost leak test, fix the exhaust manifold leak, and a slight oil leak at the turbo...

I got the sending unit installed and didnt even have to tap a new line in. It fit perfectly into the old sending unit port. Gotta run power lines still but after that I should know if everything worked out or not.

Need a lot more info to know if its a good deal or not. What condition is your prelude in and how much do you have done to it? Is the talon driveable or how much work would it need to get there? Whats the mileage of each car and how would you rate each on iterior, exterior, and mechanical...

Does anyone know if you can run an aftermarket digital oil pressure gauge through the stock oil pressure wiring or if you have to use the adapter and adapter plate for the oil filter?

Wouldn't a couple of standard aluminum L-brackets do the job? My state doesn't require front plates so I have never tried it, but for the price I would go pick some up from a local hardware store before dropping a ton on the custom brackets.

Did you just do the light and solid coats or did you also do a light clear coat for a little protection? I think they look great as long as they can last for a while without chipping and fading.Sidenote: I see you got a different hood for it. Any chance you still have the old one?

Rebuild kit came in and during the rebuild I made a BIG mistake. Here's a word of advice: dont try rebuilding a turbo if you are sleep deprived. I accidently used the wrong torque specs. instead of 100 inch pounds i used 100 foot pounds. Big mistake which has now brought a hault to the whole...

Wrong torque specs... way too high. Instead of the ~8.3 ft/lbs, I did 100 ft/lbs. thats what I get for trying to rebuild a turbo while sleep deprived. :banghead:

I am doing a 14b swap into my 95 tsi and snapped the shaft during the rebuild (I messed up on the torque specs badly.) So my question is: Is the shaft in a 14b interchangeable with other td05h shafts? 16g parts seem to be much easier to find than 14b parts. Do the exhaust turbines need swapped...

do you have anything done to the trans or is that all still stock components? mine is nowhere even close to what you are running. quite impressive for not highly modded

And finally to make this build even better... I snapped the turbine shaft while finishing up the rebuild. I f****d up and set it to 100 ft pounds not inch pounds :ohdamn: So now I have to pay for my mistake. :banghead:

Picked up a new housing in perfect condition and a rebuild kit. Once everything gets here I will rebuild it then finally get the car back together and driveable. Definitely learned what not to buy on this one since I am now about $170 in on a turbo that I could have bought for $100. oh well you...

Made some progress on the build this weekend. My j-pipe kit came in and so did my Injen intake. Still cant complete the 14b swap yet though since I am still waiting on a new exhaust housing. Once that gets here it will get sent to a rebuild shop in Fort Wayne and then it will get installed...

The header itself seems like its pretty well built for the price. I would not recommend even putting in the gaskets they send to even test it. Mine lasted a little over a week. Im also not quite sure if it is slightly warped due to the fact that I have blown out 2 sets of gaskets now. I guess...

Well since I'm still a probationary member I cant get on the classifieds to grab a new turbo and I'm trying to keep this on a budget. I'm gonna try cleaning and welding then cleaning it again.

Serial number says its a 14b. I took some pictures too.While I was at work I decided to use a grinding tool to smooth out the exhaust side. It was looking pretty rough.

Ill take pictures of everything tonight to avoid confusion. I dont know the names of the turbos yet so ill have to check things over again.

Yes I realize this is a 17 year old car and I will soon be starting the process of redoing all of the suspension using a prothane bushing kit. I was just wondering if these trailing arms were any good or if anyone had ever used them. and thanks for the write-ups, those will be very useful.
