Hello, I'm doing an evo 8 ecu swap in my 2g GSX. I have all of it wired up, but pin 79 confuses me. Nobody clearly explains what to do, but it seems everyone else understands. (Tutorial here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/evo-8-ecu-in-2g-works.321515/)I've found pictures like this...
I got a 98 gsx. I'll look at your links but everything I found says to remove headlights and use jacks. What can I do so I can quickly disconnect the bumper next time?
Do I really have to jack up my car to remove the front bumper? I don't have a jack to do so, and I need to remove the front bumper to replace my cracked intercooler. I can't burrow a jack either because I'm not even supposed to do car work at my apartment complex, and they will notice my car on...
Hopefully it is just the mounts, but I will do a further inspection and post more pictures tomorrow. I don't own a pressure tester, so what would I need to do this? Is this the little contraption that I make with pvc and can connect a bike pump to? And thank you for replying.
Hello all. Today I hit the curb at 5-10 mph due to snow. My bumper took 0 damage, but my intercooler actually bent. Every fin on the lowest row is now caved in, and the actual intercooler is now bent backwards. I don't hear or feel any leaks. I don't even notice any difference in drivability, or...
Are removeable steeing wheels legal considering there is an air bag in the OEM steering wheel? If so, which would you recommend? I want the removeable steering wheel because that is basically the ultimate theft deterrent, and I am short so my seat is really moved up and it is hard to get in with...
I will do a boost leak test when I find the time to build one, which will probably be this weekend on Saturday. It stated I may need a bigger size to fit my turbo, do you know what size I would need for the evo 16g? And it is not the stock boost gauge I'm talking about as that does not have any...
I should have known how to do these tests. Alright, I will get to doing these tests tomorrow when I wake up or after school and hopefully it is something simple. If the spark isn't good enough on one of the plugs I would need to replace it correct? (unless it's just because of a gapping issue...
How would I perform a boost leak test, and how do I check all 4 plugs for proper spark? I can do the compression test no problem though. And I may replace the air filter because it looks to be getting pretty clogged anyway, and definitely the fuel filter considering I took a look at it and it is...
Hello everyone, I drive a 98 Eclipse GSX. Today my car seriously took a hit. Mine doesn't have too too much done to it, just things like the 16g evo turbo, fmic, 3" exhaust, hks bov, wastegate, k&n intake, things like that. Well today I drove to my friends apartment, and everything was fine. I...
Hey everyone, I don't know too much about cars yet, so I'm posting here. Whenever my 98 GSX gets to around 4k RPM's I hear a sputtering noise, and I can feel the wheels not pulling when it sputters. What can be the causes of this?I bought the car semi-customized, it's got a 16g turbo with an...
It plugs into the aftermarket deck, and yes I forgot to take pictures, I said in the OP that I would post them tomorrow. I know it's hard to understand what I mean without pictures. I'll post them as soon as I can.
I have a harness sort of like that one, but the ends of the wires are stripped and had to be removed when I took it off an old car we are selling. They were spliced with the other car's wires. Will this work? The wires themselves are like a foot long before they are stripped,
My car came with no radio, which is fine, but on the radio there are wires that I need to splice together with wires on the car. Yes these wires come in a harness-box thing that plugs into the back of the radio and can be removed, but I can't find the loose wires to splice together, or any...
Lol guys, I've been looking at this gauge that I saw. I'm wondering if it's worth ordering or not :L. Have to look up reviews.EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts
My step dad said he was going to fix it himself...let's see how this goes. He's a machinist though so I'm hoping he's good at what he does like he seems to be, just need to remove it :P.
No I'm gonna order one, there are some things I need to get fixed on the car first. Some problems turned up that I didn't expect, but I will get the gauge asap :).
The actual stick that holds my shiftknob had apparently snapped and the dealer didn't tell me. We just found this out when the shiftknob just came off and there was a piece of metal in the knob. How do you replace that stick? There are no threads left to add a new shift knob.
I have an oil pressure, and boost gauge, but then I have an empty spot. I bought the car like that and have no idea what to put on it. It's in the triple gauge pillar on the left.
Hello everybody, I signed up here awhile back and was a complete NEWB back then. I wanted at first to get a body kit and all, but now I've realized that that is useless. And I found myself a 95 Eclipse GSX. I do plan to upgrade my car, but not in the near future.Note that this is my first...
And he was never answered. I know this is an old topic, but it came up in google so I'd thought I'd say that you can use this website to find stock color codes and names:This one
Oh god, this is all things that I don't know where they are XD. Do you think if I just take it to a mechanic they can do it? I'm not to keen on cars, even though I wish I was.
I know that the timing belt can destroy it if it snaps, and everyone always says to replace it after 60k miles (or something like that), but where is the upper timing cover?Where is that supposed to go on the engine? How do I check that?
I'm gonna, I see how hard it is to find a nice one, mine will look great, with no rice. :). Only aftermarket things I'm gonna do is for performance and some news rims and tint and things like that. Highrise spoiler. MAYBE CF OEM style hood. You know. And 2GB bumpers...
Lmfao, it just made me think that they guy
didn't take care of it or something, i don't know. It needs a paintjob as well, so I had to make sure. By the way, one other reason I didn't test drive: didn't go and see the car yet. XD.
