Narrowband are less accurate. 0-1 volt spectrum whereas Widebands are more accurate with 0-5 volts. Basically narrowband sensors estimate AFR. Ive seen narrowband sensors 1-2 full AFR points off sometimes. What's your airflow per rev value in closed loop? Combined Fuel Trim value in closed loop?
You said the AFR on your turbo timer hits max low, what about a stand alone W/B? IIRC Turbo timers that have the AFR feature use a narrowband sensor. I'm not saying that its not extremely rich, but an exact AFR would be nice to know. Also are you sure your idle tune is correct. Remember idle...
How about your tune? The fact you car won't be in closed loop for the first few mins might affect it. Too much air, too much fuel? Idle tune and cruise tune off a little. If you have already checked all of the previously stated possibilities the your tune would be my next guess.
It's definitely your boost controller. You basically troubleshot it yourself. Without the MBC you get no spike and with MBC you do get spike. I'd advise to swap out your MBC with someone else's to be 100% sure. A lot of my troubleshooting involves swapping out parts with friends to be sure what...
I also made an oven, 4'x4'x6'. Fits everything besides full chassis. Lol. Little expensive to build, but beyond worth it.I also have an Eastwood gun, bought the Dual Voltage Elite kit and soon upgrading to two professional kits. Eastwood powders are not bad at all. I prefer Powder365.
Mods: stock everything besides FMIC, 560cc and 14b on 18#s.Long story short, Ive had no previous issues with my valve train, timing belt, timing issues, or my Cam position sensor. After the taking the car out for a quick tune last Friday I parked her for the night. The next evening I was...
There are so many possibilities of what could be the problem. Start with basic troubleshooting first. Check CEL codes, check boost leaks, check turbo for shaft play ( make sure it spins freely and no rubbing, which can keep it from boosting correctly), make sure front O2 sensor is working...
So a friend of mine has been having problems with blowing his 20A Engine fuse because of a short. Come to find out his stock BCS was stuck into his old SMIC hole in the fender and rubbed so much that it grounded out. However during our troubleshooting we were looking over all of the components...
Tighter budget?? I don't see how these are less quality compared to the rest since especially since i put them head to head with an AEM setup and they performed great. Budget gauges in my opinion would consist of Autozone gauges or maybe glow shift gauges. A Prosport Wideband costs $200 by...
Awesome good to hear. I have to run NB sim until my broke as buys a new 02 sensor. The narrowband isn't as accurate during cruise and half throttle pulls. Obviously WOT it doesn't matter but I've notice I cruise at 14.9 - 15.1 . But maybe a mile or two more on on my MPG. Lol
So after a 4 hour drive and four hour tear down session, I'm on my way home! In my Nissan Altima I have a complete JDM long block with 75k on it. Brand new act 2600 clutch, new stock ECU, two MAFs, newly rebuilt 14b with ZERO shaft play, three valve covers and other random shit for a whopping...
Well the 90 GSX was sold today. I was second in line, so I will be on my way to pick up a full 6 bolt long block for $180 tomorrow morning. I'm in need of a 6 bolt lightweight flywheel AWD if anyone has one or knows of one.
Its either that or $600 for a fully stock '90 GSX with everything intact that has no rear interior and a fried fuel pump? This one is literally 20 mins away.Im really only looking to get a short block. But any extras I can get that can help pay for the cost would be awesome.
So I believe I do have a crank walking '98 7 bolt block. I've gone through 2 crank position sensors in two months also randomly while only making left hand turns the clutch will slip.So obviously I start searching for a 6 bolt short or long block. I come across a gentleman about 3 hours away...
Didnt have the means to do so. And I'm not 100% sure how to. I know there a VFAQs, but I'm not comfortable that I'll measure it correctly and get a false measurement. I guess I have no choice this time and I'll see what I can do.
I just need some direction and advice of what the issue might be.ABout two months ago I was driving back from Firestone when the car shut off in mid pull. Happened to have my laptop with me and I was having a P0355 code. The infamous Crankshaft Malfunction code. I had it towed home and after...
Ill let the pics talk. Notice the AFEst vs Prosport.I initially didn't have Narrowband Sim activated, but funny enough when I went outside to take these pics my o2 sensor is shot. Lol so I had to set up NS. Coincidence. Every gauge Wideband module will be slightly different when it comes to...
You are correct. I can't believe how much I've learned just in the past two days about the fuel system. Definitely not nervous about taking on a full fuel system upgrade. Ill take your advice and my final decision is a 450 and if breaks you owe me, lol. Ill just go with the double pumper then...
Nice. A turbine pump still doesn't sound that convincing. Hopefully after a week of self debate Ill make a decision and go with it and if the first path fail then ill just swap out for the other configuration.
Dammit man why did you have to bring that up, lol. Especially since ill be mainly running E85 later on. So you say a 450 is worthy of my goals, 255s are somewhat more reliable regarding internal parts, but at the same time 255s weren't specifically designed for E85. I'll probably sit on the...
Lol. So a single 450 intank will do. For now and if a 255 for some reason is needed It will be easy to install in-line. Thanks again Calan for the reassurance. I keep going back and forth between it but I can save the $100 from not buying the 255 and put it towards a catch can.
Awesome thank you for your insight. The turbo will be a bit in the future. Probably upcoming winter build. Just trying to build a rock solid fuel system that will basically never be altered just maintained. But I definitely would love to look into this injectors. I have about two weeks to make a...
Completely understandable. I just found a great thread back from 2008 with multiple individuals surpassing the 600 whp mark, a couple in the 800s and they are using two 255s. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt-tech/290215-walbro-255hp-max-hp.htmlI guess I wasn't searching correctly at first...
Not saying your incorrect because to be honest you lost me with your second equation, but why is he making 600whp with a 450 and a 255 and running at 80% IDC?
Well a 450 will be in tank regardless and an additional 255 might be added if necessary. Knowing me lll int the 255 anyways because I'm a bit anal and like overkill.
Thank you, 8 AN it is. Now time to wait for tax return lol. But there will be no hesitation once money is in hand. Thank you everyone for clearing up my confusion and uncertainty.
A Walbro 450 is what I'll be using because for some crazy reason I could always add an inline pump. But until then one 450 in-tank will do.What is the max fuel flow rating or HP rating for 8 AN lines? 10 AN lines? I'm set on a 450 pump, inline 255 (maybe one day), 2200cc injectors, top of the...
