it makes it both at idle and while giving it gas. if i try to drive the car it just dies

no the noise started when the turbo went out. Thats why I thought it was just the turbo.Just some fyi about the turbo. The old one made the car smoke a ton and had a ton of shaft play and wasnt rebuildable. So i replaced it with another t25 with zero shaft play.

I recently got a lifter tick:notgood: So i was thinking when i go ahead and pull the motor apart to fix the tick should I go ahead and upgrade some of the engine parts? Im still new to all this and not sure what I can do with an all stock car without blowing something up! So should i upgrade...

this is going to sound dumb but i found out what it was. On my first eclipse I have an aftermarket k&n air filter and on the new one it was stock so I put a new filter on it (aftermarket) and it made a big diffrence! now its like my other car

Exact same thing happen to me! check the sensor on top of the intank manifold, not sure of the exact name of it but mine came lose and that was the problem

problem solved go to the junk yard by one off of a eclipse-paint it-slap it on-:thumb:Cheapest method

I would replace them, the sound of rock smaking your car as you speed down the road can get pretty annoying and its fairly cheap to do. Just got rip some newer ones off a car at the junk yard. Good Luck!!

I bought some the other day that came from autozone that came with clips

I had the same issue my car would bog till about 3000 rpms then would take off. Turns out the sensor on top of the intake manifold was loose and causeing this problems. I believe there is 3 sensors in the engine bay that can cause this. Just make sure nothing came loose. It happens

I agree you should be able to just flatten it out

after he rebuilt the head how long did he drive iit? its takes a couple hundred miles till the head settles in and the smoke goes away

okay so i bought my car with the cluster guage lights not working didnt think it would be a problem. I bought a entire new gauge cluster with new light blubs and everything but that didnt fix my problem. I just need my lights to work so i can see how fast im going at night!! So if anyone knows...
