Ok, had to readjust a couple times last night because I eithet had it too tight or not tight enough...checked again this morning and everything seems spot on, FINALLY! YAY! haha thank you guys, it seemed like I needed one piece of info from this guy, another from another and so on because of the...
Ok, I've got it where it's supposed to be. I used a 5/32 Allen key to check the gap from top of tensioner housing to the bottom of the arm and it's just how you said. I think my problem was where I had a makeshift tensioner pulley tool and it ended up breaking so I put tension on the pulley...
I'm only after a little assistance, not flack, so save that for....nevermind who. Anyway,I watched both videos and read vfaq several times, saved where I'm at with screenshots but some of others people's trials and errors would make me unsure of how something needed to be done so I wanted to be...
Awesome, thanks! Another quick question-where I'm using a gates belt, it says the two holes will be off from oem. Can somebody post me a pic of how the tensioner pulley is supposed to be sitting, just for a reference. Thanks again guys!
Hey guys, finally got a piece of all thread and everything set up as required but I have a clicker-type in/lb torque wrench (can't find needle-type anywhere and not ordering when I'll never need it again for long time). Anyway, I was watching the second video to see how to preload the tensioner...
Right, and I got all that....but where I don't have the special tool to hold the arm down, when I go to set tensioner, it wants to spin the whole way around which I don't think is correct. So I'll have something to use in its place later this week I hope and should be able to find something...
Ok guys, I know as someone already said in a post i read that this is a super dead horse subject but I can't find exactly what I need and got aggravated after weeks of searching so here goes....
New gates belt, bs belt, and tensionerS (including auto tensioner), plus new water pump...all...
My brother had this problem in his last mustang and the sychronizers had gone out in it...beats me, that's just what the Mechanic told us lol but they changed them, did nothing to the clutch slave or master and everything was peachy! ...aside from it being a Ford!
I've got an ets race fmic (that I have yet to install lol) but when I looked up the install for it, it said unbolt and flatten the part of that piece the cooler was bolted to with a hammer and I think rebolt it higher. Now i haven't read the install in months but I did read it for awhile so i...
I've been reading and searching but can't find anything out about something I was told-can I just take the belts off the bs and everything be cool or do I actually have to remove and replace with the stubby? Thanks.
I've got a buddy up around smith mountain lake (roanoke area) in Virginia that's done great things for me. I got him to burn me a chip for my dsm along w about 2k worth of other parts. Pm me n I'll give ya his number... he also makes some house calls n I think he picks up cars sometimes.
Now on to one of my problems... got a new oil filter housing but can't seem to get the old one off... or the oil pan (just wanna see inside and clean it up). I think the last bolt for ofh is behind the bottom pulley. So do I have to take it off or is there an easier way?
Update: first, it's not out of time! Woohoo!!!
Second, I finally found and ordered most of my new parts-Evo 3 big16g, new afpr and gauge, new oil filter housing and cooler coz I still couldn't and haven't got the old filter off, got the rewire kit for my 255, new (used) intake w k & filter, and...
I bought it with blown turbo. Haven't even got to start it yet coz haven't found a new turbo.... needs a batt also, so don't even know about the electrical either. Hopefully I'll be finding out before xmas!
I guess I missed the posts in this thread you're talking about because of the acronyms...they kinda made everything run together lolThank you so much for your help crash!!!!
I know this is an old thread but I need a little help with my install. I'm trying to find what I will need to put my hx35 on...I've seen a few posts that name this or that, but I'm either not sure what those things are or the posts aren't specific enough that I know whether it's something I...
Sorry for bringing up the dead but I'm trying to find out if mines eprom...don't think so but want to be sure. I ran all the #s and it's a 97 turbo but it's the black box, not the metal and whether or not it's eprom, I wanted to see if it can still b chipped so I can run link. Picture following...
I started to empty a can on it, but was worried about it getting inside the housing and what would happen if it did. It looks the same as on other spyder which is all stock so I guess they just didn't grease the gasket.I've been reading all weekend (more browsing than in-depth, trying to get...
I'm gonna try to check tmrw but I need to find out exactly which ecu/ecm I have. Long story short, I bought the car after a motor swap (either a 4g63 or a 4g64--> 4g63t) and I'm not sure if they swapped computers. I do kno they did drive it and ended up blowing the turbo but I'm not sure why...
Bryanwheat--Have several things/things in mind (waiting on funds) as far as mods, but what do u suggest and what should I tune with instead of the safc?iugrad92turbo--thanks, hopefully I'll have all this atleast bought by first of the year
Anyway, on to the main topic here...this is my second spyder, first died due to faulty garage work during routine maintenance before modding - ya want it done right, it ya self! I got this one for $900 w no turbo (they blew it I think). Got it home n immediately started tearing it apart, taking...
Two things off the top and I'll get to the rest...One, where the hell is the ecu/ecm on this car and what should it look like??!!! I'm sitting here w the console and head unit out but all I can find is the airbag computer.Second, I need to know how to get my oil filter off...yes I kno, dumb...
Change in plans guys....was talking to my buddy that's going to give me his safc and we started talking about our cars (he's building a gsx) and when I was telling him I'm still trying to find a turbo he told me he's got a freshly rebuilt hx35 I can get for $100. So needless to say, I'm now...
I hate to butt in, this is all good info for upgrading which is what I'm in the process of doing and my question might help everyone...I know everyone has their own personal preference, but which fmic would be best on this guys situation or would it even be necessary yet?
