Yea deff a bad clutch thing same thing happened to my 95tsi weird tempermental disengaging issue had to start in gear wouldnt shift some times sometimes it's kinda work sometimes it wouldnt expected the clutch cuz the noise read this tore the tranny out sure as heck a million springs come rollin...
Ill try to get one posted today. theres just a simple circut board inside the box its hooks into its harness using pc type conections ide type cables and yea is piggy backed off the ecu
I dont even think the ecu is eprom i had it opened and dindt see any of the chips off the ecmlink site. Thats kinda why its leavin me clueless i never heard of any other tuner for dsm's. Does the dsmlink cable plug into the obd2 poet or ??
So im having trouble figuring out just what exactly i have here. i recently bought another 95 tsi awd and was told that it had dsm link as he showed me a box that piggy backs the ecu and has a serial port on it. i have no experince with any tuners or dataloggers so im not to sure, when i hook it...
An acid bath would be best for internal and external. but if youre just worried about external all sandblasting would require is protection of the deck/ machined surfaces either a wooden cutout on the deck or ducktape
Yea he dont mention any new parts to the chassis i.e :rocks:ball joints whell bearings other then that sounds good just yea id jew em down guys selling dsm's are always attached and leave some wiggle room. imo
Thats exatcly what my 95esi did when the ecu went. i changed the cam and crank sensors, redidall the grounds and still the same problem no spark and no fuel. the fuel pump wuldnt come on at all and it wuldnt fire with ether either, but soon as i put a new used ecu in it fired right to life. It...
If u get really lucky itll come out that easy, my best advice wuld be to drill it and get a extractor the square type ones work way better then the screw in ones. its nvr a bad idea to run a tap down the threads it makes it a million times easier to get broken bolts out when all the threads are...
Whatever you do id deffinatly put some strong magnets onthe oil pan as mentiond, id also put a few on the oil filter and leave em there for quite some time. Kinda between a rock and a hard place....
Does it act any diffrently now? Any new knocks, pops, or noises? Does it drive any diffrent when turning left or right, or act diffrent when you hit any hard bumps? Any new vibrations?
Bk85 exact thing happend to me. it started out jus cutting out once in a blue moon then more and more often itd happen. changed cam and crank sensors plugs wires redid all the grounds, it was my ecu. mine was a 95 aswell esi but same thing.
I really dont think there compatiball, just be sure to make a mental note of youre pcm the cinector really. i belive tho all 96 n up are the same but the 95's are oddballs. If ya find one id by it just to turn around an resale it as there fairly rare.
Aslong as you have faith in youre tuning/troubleshooting skills id be the first to say go for it. obviously try to get him down a lil but hey at the least its a clean shell and the frameworks for the drivetrain. if i had the money id look it over real good get a feel for his mechanicall...
Alright thanks guys guess you just gotta fight with them the first time. thanks again for the info guysYea tho i was the first one to have the bumper off and it was quite a struggle gett to either them tabs or the bottom bolts.
Thats what i tried but how do you get the bumber off with the 2plastic screw clips that are located on either side under the lights that hold the bumper on?
Well after doin it the hard way, i was just curious as to the right way of removing 2g headlights mainly the bottom bolt of the housing. i jamed a socket with extensions on in beyween the bumber and headlight then pryed jus wandering the better way of going about it. i was removing the headlight...
Well i got one i could part wit for 35 n shipping or, you can do what i did and go to a dodge dealership and order one from their parts depot. there about 65 i do belive its what i paid for mine. turned out to be the ecu i belive i still got the recipt and box jus doubt theyll return it.
Yea 2gs got sex apeall all day but a 1gs kinda like that scary tomboy in middle school that would kick youre ass easily deffinatly a terrifing ride to pull up to at the light
No theres definatly nothing internally swappale and id have to say no i dont thino theres nothing interchangable under the hoods i mean fuses relays maybe but there bass ackwards from eachother. after having both i culd never knock the 420 its a solid engine for what it is
Yea that stock 420a aint gonna be makin any power past 7k anyways mine always fell at about 68 or so some days a lil more some less itd jus fall flat. sounds cool tho lol
I dont know man you might top out at a buck forty witout the juice and whatever you do dont spray to soon man.... it happens all the time. Id personally start out small if u were gunna spray it
If ya cant clean/polish them glass bead would be the best way to go then jus repaint them make sure they use glass tho or itll eat or rims up ive blasted enough of em to know theres no way round it
Best way would be an extractor as menitiond id start sprayin some type of penetrating oil on them an if that dont work looks like youll need a good tap
My esi did the same thing anytime the level got low. had a small leak but id blow the rad and condensor out real good and get a bittle of water wetter it shuld cool it down them extra couple degrees
My first dsm a laser did the same thing and yea over time and a few squirts of p.b it started working better. never got it quite right but theyd both open and shut after a few tries
Ive never had a problem replacing and doing my own ac of any of my rides cardboard works wonders for saving rads from bent fins an auto zone sells dye kits that even come wit glassea and black lights.
Id do a blt and get after vac leaks, do you have any codes comin up? They deff are finicky rides and with all the pple moddin em you reallly gotta stay on top of any problems and keep em tip top an even still they bite ya dont give up on it there well worth a few headaches along the way
