So uhh... check out my turbo..

LOL holy piss! that comp. wheel is chewed up man!like the above poster said, be careful buying turbo's off CL man, just make sure you know all your serial #'s and make sure its a genuine MHI 16g. I have recently been seeing quite a few small 16g's on the classifieds here going for 250-450...

Took the DSM to the track with the Holset

thats exactly what i was thinking...90 in the 1/8th is nice, you could really cut your 60s with the 2step/nlts, and thatll help your et alot. try it next time out.btw nice plates :thumb:

Might trade my 97 eclipse for mk4 jetta

the only reason id ever do the trade, is if you planned to sell the jetta immediatly after and purchase a real dsm ;) (no offence to you n/a guys ;P)

    Forced Performance 4" intake question

first things first, why not just go SD now? whats the reason you need to wait?secondly i would recirculate that, its going to make you run very rich during shifts due to un metered air. it can cause sputtering, stalling, and rich conditions. i dont think those will help you at the track...

    My new Ride GVR-4

nice ride man, looks clean. i have never really been a big galant fan due to the body style and weight compared to a 1g or 2g, but none the less still a cool car. ;) good find!

  14. stacked1G

    Is there a Benefit??????

i dont think it would be worth it if something happened for the very minimal gain you MAY see, that is if your filter is a restriction...maybe shorten your intake pipe, but honestly it looks good the way it is.
  15. stacked1G

    Im trying to hard.

hes talking about looking in MA(borders your east), RI(borderes your south), or NY(boarders your west).idk what one of those is closest to where you are in CT, but im sure you'd find something there.
  16. stacked1G

My GSX is feeling a little sluggish!?

Guessing a bunch of different things is going to get you nowhere.., why dont you just take the advice we have all given you and do a boost leak test? you could have had this problem adressed in 15minutes, rather than going on 4 days now.

Lots of Questions for DSM Guru's

i apologize in advance but im at work and sort of skimmed through.but to me it looks like you want a very streetable car, with around 375-400hp that you can have a good time at the track with every so often.i definatley think a big 16g will do you just fine, i personally feel its one...

What exactly is crushing a BOV?

curshing the 1g bov allows it to hold more boost without leaking. just search crushed bov.you can crush it with any hard surface on the top in a vice, ive done it with a 2x4 block and a hammer.,just go carfully till the valve is almost level with the top.

    first time at the strip

i agree a 14b with exhaust/mbc/boost gauge, and some 450s to get ## ecu inline for now. would be some good mods to do first. checkout some of the upgrade paths here on the site Tech Guide - DSMtuners
  20. stacked1G

    first time at the strip

i missed the part where he said he swapped in a 5spd ecu. that ecu is programmed to be running on 450s stock. i have a set of 1g 450s if you need em msg me.
  21. stacked1G

    first time at the strip

clean out your sidemount with low octane gas..take it off, pour the gas in, shake, pour out. repeat till it comes out its original color. let it dry throughly before re-installing.just replace the manifold and 02 housing with ported 2g ones.
  22. stacked1G

    Gsx keeps dying

definatley do a Boost Leak Test -http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-turbo-system-intercooler/169435-boost-leak-test-how-boostpro-net-tester.html everything u need to is in that link.it really sounds like a non recirc'd bov, check both ends of your bov recirculation tube, all your...

not suprised you had issues with that ebay kit.just grab an STM kit and get better quality that will actually work
  24. stacked1G

    first time at the strip

do u still have the spare tire n jack in the back? take that out if your trying to loose a couple pounds. Those boost leaks could have really been hurting performance though.the more you spend time racing at the track, the more you will improve. i cant rly give u any pointers as to launching...

  26. stacked1G

mutiple 2g problems can anyone help please?

definatley look into why the safc was in the car, check the injectors. 2gs have blue caps.also for the maf, i belive that also some sealths gt3000s also used the 2g maf, 055 is another number for them
  27. stacked1G

My GSX is feeling a little sluggish!?

shuld still do a Boost Leak Test to make sure you're all good. It is something you shuld get in the habit of doing fairly often.
  28. stacked1G

    Should I purchase this manifold?

just port out your current 2g mani and spray with high temp 2000* bbq paint if you're on a budget, or just send it out to get coated after porting.
  29. stacked1G

My GSX is feeling a little sluggish!?

search Boost Leak Test , pressurize the system to 5 or so psi over what you will be running. listen for leaks, also spray some soapy water and you will see the bubbles to indentify a leak. start up by the throttle body and work your way down
  30. stacked1G

97 GSX For sale and have questions

shuld probally just look for something in good working order for that money man..if your feeling risky, maybe 1200-1700 if hes got the recipts for the tranny, and you can verify its actually a 6bolt etc, i still wouldnt trust some1 thats running that setup with an afc and narrowbands at high...

    OBX tuner turbo manifold

i would stray away from a tubular mani(expecially an ebay one), expecially if its your daily driver. As you will put alot of miles and consistant hot temps to it, causing possible cracking to happen sooner, or lots of re-welding to it.you would be just as happy with a ported 2g mani. you can...

Where to buy Test pipe materials

why not go to your local exhaust shop and see if they got some scrap pipe out back...or just buy a 29.5" straight pipe from jcwhitney and two flanges off RRE? either that im sure your local exhaust shop could make you one up for around 50$ if you cannot weld it yourself. just tell them its for a...

    Safcii

i wouldnt think you would need such extreme adjustments still being on stock injectors. you shuld really get a way to log. also are you sure the WB is accurate? like above poster said are you seeing any of those symptoms? im not 100% on using an afc cause i never have, but how are your fueltrims...

    New turbo or tune?

no, you are going to need a wideband reguardless of who tunes it. you can grab a LC-1 / MTX-L for about 165 on ebay. a very needed investment, you shuld have baught a long time ago.read this first, and give it a shot...

What intake to buy for 1g eclipse?

i have heard nothing but great things about the vrsf kit,and they have good fitment. also u can use your abs(if you have it)and keep your a/c.
  37. stacked1G

Will porting my 1g manifold do anything?

if you have already gone to the classifieds and typed in "manifold / exhaust mani etc.." you can also just post a WTB(want to buy ad) and im sure you'll get some msg's

    New turbo or tune?

your car probally is not running good right now....TUNE ITwhy not just read the tuning guide on the link forums and go from there..there is plenty of helpful people on there and alsong as you post logs will help you basically step by step with your tune. and once you learn, you'll love it...
  40. stacked1G

    Boost issues.

you may just be better off grabbing a 14b cheap, or rebuild it. so u can take care of other mods that at this stage that will help more, like full exhaust, mani, intake, fuel etc.. then grab a 16g. but hey idk, maybe u wanna do it backwards.i only say that because u wont be getting much of a...

    connecting 3" DP to 2.5" cat-back????

no problem, and honestly unless your friend is making around 350-400 he'd probally just be better off buying a 2.5" downpipe.and to better answer your question, the gases in the dp fill a 3" diameter, while entering the catback those gases need to then fit into a smaller diameter(2.5") as...
  43. stacked1G

    connecting 3" DP to 2.5" cat-back????

the hotter gases flow better(as they enter the downpipe) & As the gases travel down the pipe(through the testpipe to catabck) they expand, & the speed decreases. there for a lager pipe diameter twards the end(catback) can "help" this flow as the gasses cool and expand...therefore bigger to...
  44. stacked1G

    connecting 3" DP to 2.5" cat-back????

a 3" dp to 2.5 catback will cause turbulence...the other way around though, is not bad...tell him to just buy a 2.5" dp lol.but to answer your question, it will bolt up fine.
  45. stacked1G

True 3" ebay cat-back???? Any out there????

i have the SRS catback on my 1g awd, its NOT true 3" all the way through its 3" about 85% but between the two resonators its about 2.80ish(i dont mind at all because i was actually lookin for a 2.5 exhaust). It bolted right up to my 2.5" downpipe without a problem. fitment was GREAT, lined up...

How much to port 2g mani?

truue that, i got mine CNC'd, it was quick, and perrrrfect ;)luckily i have a buddy to do that for me though.
  47. stacked1G

How much to port 2g mani?

to be honest, you can probally grab a ported 2g mani for about 50$, and would be cheaper than having it ported for you. then u can just sell the 2g mani you already baught(or keep it and TRY porting yourself, its a cool skill to have, and may be fun to try.)....but that if that sounds like alot...
  48. stacked1G

    Boost issues.

first off the stock boost gauge is not accurate, so dont trust that, ever. meaning it may have always been at 7psi.seems as if your spool time is about right, but id still fix your exhaust mani stud, and do a boost leak test. check your turbo for shaft play(both up and down, and in and out)...
  49. stacked1G

    quick evo ecu question! !

i take it the reason you're doing this is to be using evoscan/ecuflash...so the answer is no.not to insult you or anything, but maybe you shuld read up on ecuflash a bit.
