Thanks for your reply. I actually got the same response on another forum that I asked the same question. So obviously these boltup exhaust housings are somewhat restrictive. But I did find this - https://www.instagram.com/p/2jJYy2k58J/ The dyno chart shows the car making power upto 9500RPM...
Hi all,
I had the first go at the dragstrip on the weekend and did pretty terribly. The Evo Zero 3.909 ratio gearing might be partly to blame, probably as much as my shitty driving, but another issue is my 7500 RPM limit. My tuner set it there as the car stopped making power about that point...
Oh well, its on there now and Im sticking with it. Will be a big change from the 16G anyway. Car has started to have the tune down today. Will know power figure tomorrow.
Hi all,
My car is currently in with a workshop to have the dyno tune completed. I am unsure about how much boost I should ask the tuner to use. Obviously o2 readings and knock will be a limit at some point. It will be running on pump gas (equivilant to 93/94 in the USA). I would appreciate...
Hi Justin and everyone,
I have an old photo on my computer of an exhaust housing. I seem to recall it is to suit a GT35R cartridge and was possibly made by Forced Performance. Can anyone confirm any details about. Sorry for the bad photo.Cheers all!!
Ryan
Its funny because in New Zealand on our Galant VR4s and early Lancer Evo the majority of people dont recirculate their BOVs. However nobody runs the factory BOV either as they leak. I tried running my VR4 non-recirculated on the standard BOV once and the car did run like absolute crap. If you...
Has anyone come across something like this? Any help would be appreciated.1991 Galant VR4When the car is started it idles good, until you touch the accelerator then the idle gets rough. When logging the o2's at idle they are extremely rich. The only way to keep the car from dieing is to...
Hi all,
I am in the process of putting the engine of my Lancer Evo 2 (similar to a 2G) back together. The head was stripped down and recondition by the local machine shop. We have gone about putting the head back together which has gone pretty straight foward. However now the head has been...
This is a question more for the guys who play around with writing EPROM/tuning their own cars. Can anyone tell me what the deadtime value is for a Siemens 83lb Injector? Its part number is 3105.Thanks in advance.Ryan
Could it possibly be because your safc is a little too rich at idle and your plugs are fouling? After a minute or so when the plugs get nice and hot it burns the oil/crud/crap off the plugs and the car runs nice again. My GVR4 does the same with 720 Denso's, 2G AFM & SAFC and Im guessing this...
Thanks for the idea. The problem I have in New Zealand we have whats called a "Warrant of Fitness" where the car gets inspected every 6 months (Im not sure if you guys in the US have the same). With a setup like this I very much doubt it will pass the Warrant.Looks like I might have to...
I have just ordered a set of D2 Coilovers. I didnt realise until I got home that the rear shocks do not have a bracket to mount the brakelines. Ive had a look around on the net and seen other car owners using hose clamps and zipties etc but this seems to halfass after I have just paid out a heap...
Giday people,
I am new to this forum so I thought I might as well go ahead and introduce myself. I hope this is in the right section. My name is Ryan Gillespie and Im actually not from the States. I live in Christchurch, New Zealand and have a 1989 Galant VR4. I find these US boards contain...
Below is the reply I got back from Ben when I enquired why the RS52 had gone:I'm having a hard time getting the parts from Garrett on those right now, so we've temporarily stopped selling them.
The differences between the 60 and 60T is nothing performance wise. Right now the RST is...
