Not to raise this from the grave, but I had similar issue with my old setups. First setup was the SPC A-arm, then again had the same issue with a stock arm with SPC adjustable balljoint AND adjustable anchors installed (anchors at max inboard adjustment). I can dig my notes back up, but was...
One thing I'm not sure will make much of a difference is whether the calipers are mounted on the JDM Galant knuckles vs. a modified stock 2g knuckle with bracket.Either way, it's good to see some responses, so here's the updated list:MFG, Model, Size, Offset, Spacer, Status (Notes)...
Vacuum leaks are easiest to find by doing a boost leak test and spray soapy water on all suspected couplings, hoses, etc . . . look/listen for bubbles and hissing.Is this a 1G you're trying to pass emissions? If everything is in good working order, go run the car HARD for 5-10 min, then...
Here is some information on counterfeit copies:
counterfeitcopies [ECMTuning - wiki]What version of DSMLink are you picking up?In general . . . you should be able to hook everything up, connect to it with your laptop and at LEAST read back sensor data without the car running.Hit me...
I've never had anyone check for a CAT when doing emissions (get mine done in Columbia). I just roll up, they check the fuel cap, hook it up to the OBDII scanner, then I roll out.On a side-note . . . for good exhaust work/fabrication, I suggest checking out Mandrel Bending Solutions in Pasadena, MD
I'm pretty sure I posted this info somewhere before, but can not find a link to it . . . The turbo shaft seals will fit into a 1G N/T throttle body if the recess they press into is bored out just a touch deeper. I can (or anyone else who has access to a torn apart turbo throttle body) get the...
If the gauge is reading properly, you should be seeing more than that. To diagnose it, I would suggest acquiring a mechanical pressure gauge just for testing and hook it up to the oil filter housing so you can have a direct comparison. You should be able to get a mechanical pressure gauge from...
This should be in a separate thread, but you need to have primed the pump by filling it with fluid before attaching the valve assembly and high pressure hose to it. Search around for threads on how to properly bleed the PS system ... there are plenty of them.
They should all be the same with perhaps the exception of those with ABS might have an extra hole drilled out for the sensor, but I am not positive since I do not have ABS.
It's not much higher, no . . . but the tie rod end's connection point is far enough off of the knuckle center-line (made between the LCA and upper ball joint) that even small amounts of camber adjustment have significant impact on toe.I really believe that the easiest thing to do would be to...
It's not really an issue with the arms, but with the length of the tie rods (in my situation). But even as such, I have -2.5* up front without modifying the tie rods, so if you desire less than that, then I would guess you should have no issues.
Think it's more of an on-going thread . . . :) Some of us are still here. I've started to see a couple of nice 2Gs over here in the Columbia area lately.
yeah, i just took a look at the anchors I have and it was actually the center sleeve that would become un-bonded from the rubber bushing allowing it to rotate freely. The rubber bushing is still bonded to the outer shell and of course the entire sleeve/bushing/shell unit is pressed into the anchor.
Nope, no red here. Just black rubber stock looking bushings. The only red I had was the dust boot for the balljoint. Perhaps you got an earlier/later model where SPC changed the bushings out? There was definitely no lube to be put on mine.
No, the rubber definitely is not separated from the anchor new . . . if it was, the installation instructions would not specify attaching the anchors to the arms at a 90* angle. After the rubber separates, the anchors pretty much spin freely around the rubber, so achieving that 90* angle would...
Hehehe . . . yeah I'm not entirely crazy about the 'bushing' material used with the eccentric eye-bolts, but this setup is by far the cheapest route to get a decent amount of camber and maintain suspension travel up front.Now I just need to come up with a better way to get a touch more...
Holy cow I thought JToby was gone for good . . .I actually accomplished -3.5* without cutting the arms (shortening them). It was all done with bolt-on stuff and some minor clearancing. I keep telling myself that I'll do a quick writeup with pictures, but that hasn't happened yet.So...
And indeed they may be! But I had the 'luck' (?) of my bushings (black rubber part) separating from the anchor itself. Not sure if that would negatively affect anything, but that's what happened to me . . .Would've been nice to see if Energy Suspension has a bushing that would fit in there :)
Good stuff . . . So anyone brave enough to snag one of those 350Z balljoints and do a comparison?If any of you are interested in a set of arms and extra anchor bolts, hit me up. I'm done with mine.
So for any of you guys out there running more than -2.5* camber up front on your 2G. . . did you have any issues with the tie rods being too long (not enabling you to zero the toe out)?I recently installed some modified front upper A-arms and can get -3.5* in the front, but it looks like I...
Looks like the FSM specifies 80ft lbs and this is from ARPs tech section:The lubricant used is the main factor in determining friction, and therefore, the torque for a particular installation. Motor oil is a commonly used lubricant because of its ready availability. If less friction is...
Was thinking of possibly heading out early Sat to meet up with these guys:http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/mid-atlantic-region-dsm/403805-2nd-annual-beach-meet-ocean-city-md.html
Well since you can get it started and it runs, you should head over to the ecmlink forums (ECMTuning User Support Forums) and search through there. That and the ecmlink wiki (start [ECMTuning - wiki]) have tons of information and instructions on how to dial-in your injectors and properly...
Sounds like if the ECU was throwing a misfire code and it was running like garbage (less than all 4 cylinders?), then it's most likely something to do with the ignition system. Put some NKG BPR6ES gapped at .028" in there, check your plug wires for damage, check the coil pack for damage, and...
I just put the EVO IX brembo's on with the JDM knuckles and the SS lines I was using on the GSX calipers worked just fine. Should be the same with the caliper bracket and stock knuckle.
* Upgraded fuel lines from tank to rail
* Installed Fuel Labs filter
* Installed DG coilovers
* I modified front A-Arms
* Installed new rear trailing arm
* Set ride-height
* Painted & baked EVO9 brembosShould be back on the road within the week . . .
Cleaning out the parts room and need to find this rubber a new home since I dont have 16's anymore. Tread depth is perfect for someone who does Autocross (SoloII) or perhaps track days on street tires.Falken Azenis RT615 (225/45/R16) ~3/32 TreadThese will be recycled by the end of...
The Fidanza 3.2 will be a bit overkill for your situation.
I am currently running a Centerforce Dual Friction and it has THE lightest clutch pedal feel I have ever tried . . . might be even lighter than stock (it's kinda weird).
The ACT2100 would probably be more than sufficient (so long as...
