Sorry to open an old post. But I just purchased a 91 tsi fwd. And the biss screw is missing. What can I use until I get another one? And my idle jumps up real high and doesn't want to come down. Is that because of the screw or is that tps issue?
Well actually I think I got burned. But its my own fault I didn't research it before I bought it plus I was just to determined to get my first dsm so I didn't care if I had to work on it. $2k with a blown head gasket. Come to find out the valves weren't seating right and the head was slightly...
Yeah for sure. Mine is down also. But hopefully it will be ready by then. I need to put the head, water pump and belt's on but the Guy that was helping me hasn't got back to me about when he will be available. I don't know how to set up the timing and all that. So I'm kinda SOL right now.
Hey what's up bro. I checked out that clubs website a couple weeks ago and nothing was updated except mods to members cars. But yeah definitely man we all need to get together.
You definitely would be better off with a gsx. But if I had a 2g, I would paint it a sexy Bentley green, bronze rims with a polished lip and a massive front mount. She will look gorgeous. Guarantee it.Or you can also do the green with black wheels, carbon fiber hood and cf mirrors. That would...
What's up guys. This is my first dsm. I bought it broken and almost have it done. If all goes well "which it usually doesnt lok" It should be ready within the next couple of weeks. J would like to get ahold of somebody to find out about any meets or runs that go on. I'm pretty excited. I been...
Here is a video of how to: Boost Leak Testing 201: Using the tool. - YouTubeOops o apologize for sending that video again. When I first scrolled threw the post there was no video showing on atuca's reply. Sorry
That's exactly why I prefer the lube. You want it to stay in place and not run off by the time you get everything tightened up. I'd hate to score a fresh new surfaceAny local parts store should have it. Check Napa first
Me personally I prefer to use the assembly lube when mating new surfaces together. If you were gonna put old cams back in, oil would be fine. But either way you will be fine. I truly think its more of a preference. What ever feels right to you. Assembly lube is what the company recommends. Now...
Yeah a buddy of mine that is helping me with my talon but he got rid of his. I haven't driven the car since I got it. Bought it with a blown head gasket and ran into trouble with the head. So I'm pretty excited to get it going. But that's why I haven't really tried getting in touch with any...
It is possible. But in all honesty I would hold on to that money, sell your NT. Buy a gsx or Tsi awd and put what money you have left over into some basic bolt on mods.
It would be good for us to know if your headlights work at all and if headlights and blinkers went out at same time or different occasions. But I would start with fuses and turn signal flasher.
I haven't really looked up any meets since my car is running. But as soon as I get it going I plan on looking into it... yeah I bought a rebuilt 2g head with the head bolt holes already bored for a 1g. All I need now is the water pump, belts and all gaskets except the head gasket. And maybe a...
Forgive me for that. Its not a viscous. I meant lobro. Here is a link to the post. You may have the same symptoms. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/maintenance-repairs/428725-drive-train-problems.html
Don't go throwing parts at it just yet. You want to run all your basic tests first. Get the car up temp then run a fuel pressure test take for a spin and check it again. Do it atleast 3 times and see what readings you get. Then check spark etc. I've read in a couple posts that the viscous is...
I had a similar problem with it dumping coolant from right there and it turned out to be a blown head gasket and the head was extremely warped. The Guy I bought it from tried running into the ground I guess.
If you have a tune that surge may have deleted your tune. You can try disconnecting the battery to reset the ecu. As far as an 02 solenoid, I couldn't find nothing on it.Also check this out. This Guy had a similar issue with the car starting and shutting off right away. MPI relay issue??? -...
You might want to run a pressure test on it. Because there is a possibility that you may have a pin hole leak somewhere. Or you may not have burped the coolant system correctly and could still have air pockets in your system causing it to push fluid out. And if there is a small leak somewhere...
Hey how is it going? I think I ran into you over on pomade and eubank. I was in a red car and I asked you if you knew where to find a 1g head... no body from alb ever posts on here and I don't know why. But there is quite a few 2g's also but I hardly ever see them. My talon should be up and...
