Just bought a 97 GST and its got some transmission issues. Filter is replaced, fluid is replaced and correct. It seems to have a hard time actually going into gear from park. A lot of times it will just act like its in neutral the entire time but at other times it will go into gear, but very...
I am selling my '95 Eclipse GSX. It's a great car that gets me to and from everywhere I want to go.I'm asking $6,000 OBO!BRAND NEW battery and all 4 tires also brand new. Less than 200 miles on new Kumho tires. It has 165, XXX miles. There are a lot of modifications done on the car...
So who's all goin to the 6-14 meet? My brother and I are planning on heading up there to the meet for the first time, provided he has the day off. :hellyeah:
I don't have and have never heard the exhaust..but yes you will see a small performance gain since the exhaust gasses won't have such a hard time getting out of the tubes. :hellyeah:
My brother and I are looking for some other DSMers to hang out with down here but can hardly find anyone at all. If you're in the Casa Grande area we would for sure like to meet up and check out your rides! :rocks:
Its truely surprising that the BOV venting to the atmosphere is having no ill effects on the car sputtering..if you read on the site here, all over the place people say "RECIRCULATE" lol. The reason being, the engine computer SHOULD get confused by losing that extra air that the BOV is releasing...
My name's Adam. Since I turned 16 I've had 18 different vehicles. Cars, trucks, and motorcycles. My last two rides have been a 1995 GST and a 1995 GSX. I had always wanted a DSM ever since I drove a built GSX 5 years ago in a drag at Firebird Raceway up in Phoenix. So my brother had a 1990 GSX...
Sounds like it could be a lifter tick, improperly gapped spark plugs, bad wires, or something up with the air fuel ratio..go down the list and check them all off man.
If its not a fuel problem then it must be an air problem. Try what a couple people before me have said and clean out all the intake piping and throttle body and such.
There's not much of a downside to the breather filters. My brother has one on his gst and I had one on my gst as well. They look very cool and clean up the engine bay nicely.
You only need to put oil IN the filter if you don't need to tip it over to install it. So in the case of our cars, no, you don't need to fill up the oil filter. Just rub some new oil on the gasket before install.
The ecu would have to be flashed in order for it to be able to comprehend all that new forced induction air coming in. Otherwise there will not be enough gas being forced in and that car would run so lean that it probably won't stay running at all. Hope that helped!
I'd check the selenoids first man. ### that's a lot cheaper than the alternatives. If it does turn out to be a straight bad transmission then pick up a used one for cheap..most of the ones I've come across are in pretty good condition surprisingly. Hope that helped a little bro!
Not very difficult at all actually, just replacing parts and swapping fuse boxes. You need to be patient though and work at a steady pace to keep from having a brain lapse.
I'm looking to get a slightly custom paint job on my 95 GSX soon. All the shops I've called charge wayyyyyyy too much so if you guys know anyone I'd appreciate any help! Thanks!
Name is AdamI'm from Casa Grande but live up near the 101 and I-17 interchange.1995 GST..pretty stock minus the drilled rotors and 3 gauge pod a pillar.I'd dig that idea by the way..lol :hellyeah:
Figured new parts are a good thing.Alright guys..screwed around with it all morning and now it literally sits at "idle" at 2k rpm..is that a problem with the throttle position sensor???Also, I used the Ohm meter on the TPS and the resistance was in tolerance levels..but it didn't change...
I replaced the ISC already as a precaution..I got an EGR blockoff plate also and I'm gonna put that on tomorrow...I'll try the rest of the suggestions as well and let you guys know what happens. Thanks!
I haven't any idea how to do a boost leak test..And yeah the BISS helps but I can only get the rpm down to around 800 and it'll continue to surge and such.
Okay guys, just bought my first DSM a few weeks back and can't figure out what the deal with it is.....:banghead:Basically, I think I have a vacuum leak because it starts and runs, and runs great at-speed, but just won't idle right..it will surge from 750-1400 and everywhere in between. I...
