no the 2G GS/RS both have the chrysler 420A motors. i hate the motor!!!!! no offense to anyone who has the motor, just my personal opinion. Im always having engine problems with it, and im not the type of guy that beats the hell outta the car. i know its slow, so its not worth beating...
Alright, i am DEF. doing the 4g63 engine swap in my 98 Eclipse GS. I've checked out the threads and everyone keeps saying buy a GST or just turbo the 420A motor. No one gives the answers to the people looking to do this swap. I know what i need for the swap i nkow its a lot of time to do the...
the car has 49,000 miles, garaged since day one. second owner. have all reciepts of everything done to the car. Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil every 3000 miles. Runs great (other than recent problems) Power everything, cept seats. power sun roof, 10 disc cd changer, upgraded speakers (6x9 in rear)...
No, its cool, i was just wondering. Im selling my eclipse right now to get a GST. i decided just to get it because im having a lot of problems with my 420A right now. its in the shop getting the engine worked on. keep having problems with my belts, valve tapping, and lose of oil very...
Y do you wanna be able to beat other GST's??? go out and run the trans am's, mustangs, and camaros and show them what imports really are like. dont race fellow DSMers, no kick outta that. A turbo will be expensive on a NA engine. its better to buy a GST or GSX, but its the insurance that...
yeah that would be great, what kinda deals could he get me though? for the internals im not too sure yet, im still looking around. most likely some JE pistons, crower cams, some cam gears, pistons, rods, etc. just the minimal internals needed to hold the power w/o destroying the engine
w/ a t3/t4 turbo and a front mount you would be able to smoke stock gst's. after all, gst's have forged internals, we dont (RS/GS), with a 16G or a t3/t4 its a bigger turbo, front mount, more air flow, which will make you faster than a stock gst/gsx
A stock RS/GS can handle 350HP to the motor w/ no internals upgraded. woulndt advise it though, would only handle for a few days. you'd be safe if you stayed around 210 - 250 to the motor. but thats also pushing it. it wont die as fast but you will be destroying your motor. i have a 98 GS...
yeah my friend with the prokit and tokico illumina setup actually lowered his car about 1.6 which isnt bad at all. so i was def. thinking about going with that setup. but i havent talked to many people with the koni's i really only know people getting the tokico's on there cars.
yeah, koni's are extremely expensive but you get what you pay for. the tokico's are really nice my friend has them on his eclipse but he doesnt like them tooo much. thats wierd with the AGX's though. what does it void? the warranty on the shocks or the warranty on the car? (stupid question...
I just bought a set of Eibach Prokit Lowering Springs. I've been looking around for some shocks/struts to go along with them. I've looked at the Koni Adjustables, Tokico Illuminas, and the AGX Adjustables. Which would support me the best. I really like the Tokico but im not sure which would...
