I am debating on selling my 96 GSX this summer and wondering if I should continue to install my turbo kit or if I would be better off to sell the turbo kit separately. Car has ~88k miles and is totally stock other then air filter and 1g bov.I currently have waiting to install:FP Turbo Kit:

It could be an overadjusted brake pedal rod. If your brake pedal is preloading the master cylinder it could be closing off the compensation port and when the brakes heat up and fluid expands it causes the brakes to drag.
Sound like the sensor ground wire is broken somewhere. Try backprobing the sensor ground wire at the connector and hooking it to the battery negative temporarily.Currently your ECU is providing 5-volt reference voltage and is receiving on the signal wire since unplugging the sensor caused it...
You could always run a non-divided exhaust manifold and install a quick spool valve between the manifold and turbo to block half of the turbo housing off until it is spooled up.
I ran water / meth for a while on my 3000gt. It did clean up the intake plenum over time and kept the pistons and valves very clean.I ran a fairly large DevilsOwn system with two D14 (rated at 882cc @200psi) injectors on a 250psi pump. Estimated total system flow at 250psi was 1972cc. I ran...
I would check for a boost leak as it is a MAS vehicle. If you have a major leak or a pipe blown off it will be pulling in unmetered air and thus not injecting the proper amount of fuel.
luv2rallye, I am using the 3rd relay to isolate radio power when you key off so this circuit doesn't back-feed your key-switch and keep other items alive in the vehicle.Fixed labels.
This should work for you.- Key provides direct power to radio like factory and also energizes the left relay.
- Left relay load side feeds +12V to second relay load side and out through 87a (normally closed terminal).
- 87a then feeds radio power and also feeds power back to first relay...
If you have a little patience you can get them open. Just need a small flat head screwdriver and a hammer. Peel the lip up and the cap will pop out. There will be a small nut on the end of the actuator rod that will need to be removed along with the diaphragm. When your finished just crimp the...
I thought you just meant you blew a radiator hose at first. Looks like the upper radiator neck rusted and broke.Milky look to coolant is often a sign of contamination. Are there any signs of coolant in the oil?
Does the engine use coolant or oil?You can purchase (and possibly rent) coolant...
Yes, that is fine. You will likely run a lower amount of boost depending on how you had your boost controller adjusted before. This will act the same as having your MBC backed off fully (assuming your MBC can adjust below wastegate spring pressure).
Looks like you only partly disassembled your IAC. You need to remove the whole assembly and clean inside the throttle body air passage.Only image I could find was a sale on ebay.
Idle Control 1g DSM Eclipse Talon 4G37 1 8L SOHC | eBay
Yes, adding an Idle Control Servo will let the ECU to control the amount of air into the engine at idle. Without it the ECU is unable to control idle as the throttle body is the only device governing airflow into the engine. IAC will also help when your A/C or radiator fans kick on.
I assume this is a pretty common problem but my 2g driver seatbelt recently started to not retract well.Is there a fix for this or do I need to start looking for a replacement belt?
So I've found my 96 GSX to spin quite fast going down the highway and have seen that the Evo3 (10% taller) 5th gear is a popular swap. What kinds of MPG gains can be expected?
E85 is nice if you plan to only run high HP some of the time or are willing to accept the lower mileage for daily driving.I have had great luck using methanol injection from DevilsOwn with a 75%-Meth / 25% Water mix on my 3000gt with TD04HL-19T turbos. It allowed me to run boost over 30psi and...
Has anyone been able to read intake manifold pressure with one of these android apps? I have tried several and all of them say that pid is unsupported.
I own both a 91 3000GT VR4 and a 96 Eclipse GSX. I've had the 3000gt for 5 years and my GSX for 1 year. I actually feel the 3000gt has many advantages over a DSM but it all depends on what you want to do. My 3000gt is pushing over 600hp while my GSX is still stock (HTA68 soon).- Stock vs Stock...
Don't leave out the possibility of it just being a bad sensor or wiring. If these are wired like 3000gt's are they have a separate sensor for gauge reading and ecu reading.Might try hooking up a code reader, pull up coolant temp on it. Go for a drive and see if it correlates with your analog...
Nothing in that list would scare me too much. I would ask him for more detailed specs on the parts though, what he is using for tuning, and who tuned it.
I regularly hit 30+mpg in my stock 96 GSX. There are big MPG gains to be had from dropping your speed from 75mph to 65mph. I can only pull ~24 if I run 75mph. It would benefit greatly from a 6-speed or at least an Evo3 5th gear. I am curious what I could hit with a lean tune though.These...
