If the sensors are all still in place its usually quite easy to reconnect all of them given most sensors have matching connectors just giving ya a helpful tipColor matched*
Ya as long as the halfshaft is still holding a seal (keeping tranny fluid in) than its good but for removal just tap the T.J. case with a plastic hammer or rubber mallet DO NOT put a pry bar too far into it in doing so can damage the oil seal inside the case and don't pull on the shaft
Follow the line off the gauge.... a lot of people are lazy and use the supplied T and fittings with autometer products and usually t in around the BOV Im almost certain that line just popped out of the t fitting so your gauge isn't reading go check it out
I'm telling you easiest most inexpensive route is buy a bolt extractor kit you can get them from anywhere for less than $15.00 all it is is sockets with grooves in it to cut into the bolt and grab it to pull it out
Worst case scenario if you strip it out just buy a bolt extractor kit from Lowes/Home Depot there relatively cheap and work great but on the down side you need a new bolt afterwards
For polishing I use a dremel with a carbon steel wire wheel to remove the nasty stuff than come back with some 800 than 2000 grit sandpaper to filter out all the imperfections than come back with a polishing wheel and compound but this process is extremely time consuming but worth the wait.....
Napa Auto Parts sells mediocre paint one quart of color and reducer is around $130.00 and a quart of clear is roughly a $100.00 there color usually has a built in primer but ultimately the decision is yours

What I always do is drain all the old oil out leave the drain plug out and pour about half a quart of new oil through the motor to clear out a majority of the old oil you can also turn the motor over manually to maximize this method its always worked for me.....
