    W4A33 front diff in W5M33

Thanks for the reply. It's for my big turbo stroker. Was just trying to trap a big higher in 4th. Sounds like I should just stick with the 3.545.

    3800 rpm in 5th gear @ 60mph?

Hi there, Have just put my car back together. I blew the centre diff out of my last gearbox so I found a replacement that was out of a drag evo (we have evo 1-3 here in NZ) with a welded centre. All is fine and everything works - however the revs seem way higher than what they should...

    Help - transfer case dowels

Thanks - I managed to find some dowels exactly the same from a hardware store, which was suprising. The mitsi part number is MF472405 which states a 10mm x 20mm dowel.Gently tapped them in and good to go.

    Help - transfer case dowels

Hi there, Just swapping out transmissions. The new transmission I have has had the transfer case dowels removed. Can the transfer case be run without these dowels or do they help alignment under power. How important are they? Here is a picture of the old transmission that I removed...

    Drag chariot

Here is the damage:Block surface looks ok but not sure about this bore. I'd rather use another block and start again but don't have a workshop at the moment (I'm doing this in apartment parking building) so will throw it back together and see what happens. The above turbo was a thrust...

    Drag chariot

Last time at the track was December 2019.Engine was tuned to 320kw @ 23psi on E60. Best run was a 12.41. This was full trim, with spare tyre and sub in the boot on 18" low profile rims at 32psi.Here's a video of the 12.41 (sorry for the poor quality). I certainly need some more seat time...

General 1G CAS with 2G crank sensor

Hi, I have a Mitsubishi Chariot, similar to a 95-96 2G dsm.It has the cam sensor on the intake cam and the crank sensor on the crank. I've installed HKS cam gears that don't have a provision for the cam sensor.I have a 1G CAS I'm going to install and have a link G4+ ECU so can invert the CAS...

    Help - Crower 64414 degreeing

So just to confirm, according to the card the events are as follows:IO = 8° ATDC IC = 24° ABDC EO = 33° BBDC EC = 15° ATDCIf this is correct they put the negatives there just so you can add events together to get duration? Seems extra confusing.Thanks.

    Help - Crower 64414 degreeing

Yeah I keep thinking I must have made a mistake with the 15° BTDC and 15° ATDC for the exhaust closing event. I'm confident it was 15° BTDC though - I measured the exhaust cam first, then went and did the intake cam, then went back to the exhaust again and got the same thing both times. This is...

Ebay fuel rail - won't fit

Thanks all. I'm pretty sure the extra parts are for use with 14mm injectors. I also think this is not "bolt on" think its for use with different length injectors. It's the only way that I can see that it would fit.Thought I would give it a go as it came with some other parts I bought. Guess...

    2G Bad sensor?

Check the codes first. What sort of maintenance has been done on the car? I'd be checking the fuel filter first. Wouldn't hurt to pull the plugs and have a look as well.

1.8L 93 eclipse GS dies at stop lght

Sounds like you have more than one issue going on. I'd check for a vacuum leak first.Could also be fuel related. Also if the coolant sensor is toasted, it will make it run really rough. Should throw a code though.

    1G Car Flatlined

There are so many things it could be that are stopping it starting. Fuel, Spark, Fuse etc. You need to do some tests first.

Car Won't Turn over. Making a buzzing sound in dash.

Sounds to me like battery ground. I had the same issue and couldn't figure it out. Poor ground will give symptoms like you have..... Did you hook the ground back up to the gearbox when you put it back on?

    1G Oiling mods

Why are you wanting to do 'oil mods'?Most people only do this if they have removed balance shafts and are suffering from high pressure.First you need to know what oil pressure you're running before you start porting stuff. Yes, if you have the engine apart cleaning up the galleries is a good...

Nice VR4 dude. They are good fun!
  33. dave_nz

    Odd no start.

I had something similar and it was the battery not grounded properly. If you have fuel and spark, it has to be computer related. I.e Timing. If it was the CAS you wouldn't have fuel/spark.

2G Oil pan installation questions 2G GSX 97

I would be more inclined to beat the oil pan out a bit rather than drilling out the holes. You're better off having the holes tight as long as you can keep the sealing surface flat.

2G Oil pan installation questions 2G GSX 97

That is very odd about the new oil pan touching the girdle. Should definitely clear it. Would it fit if you massaged it a little? However you must run shorter bolts on the 2 holes nearest the timing belt. (the two bolts in the middle on that side) I have done this incorrectly before and in...

Galant GSX starts but won't stay running

Yeah sorry, if you want to test the injectors take the whole rail out and test all the injectors together. Just make sure you cable tie them onto the rail so they don't fly off with the pressure behind the fuel. Just point the injectors into a bucket or something and have someone turn the car...

DIY Evo I - Lets go drag racing

Installing the keepers. I have read on numerous sites to not use a magnet when doing this as you get stuck on the metal as you put the keeper in. I totally disagree!! Easiest way for me was to grease the back of the keeper, drop the first one it and slide it around, then on the second keeper...
