Hood and hatch are installed, mocked up the side splitters to see the full effect. They fit so well that they just stayed up using friction which I’m really excited about. Will install them permanently after bodywork. Really happy with the overall look.
Hey guys, it's been a minute since I've written any kind of update on my talon. I can't believe how fast time flies. I was going to keep updates to myself until I finish what I'm working on, 1) because I hate to share the current state of my proudest project, and 2) because I know it will take...
Really cool products! I love the air duct channel and the valve cover keychain! Just wondering about the coupon code, it says it can only be used on $200 orders?
Question to you guys installing this in a carbon fiber hatch… did you sand the clearcoat on the inside lip where the glass sits to better adhere the urethane? Did you use the 3m single step primer on the carbon fiber?
Finally time to let this thing go. PMs are the best way to get ahold of me.12k oboLocated in Southern NH

If i remember correctly I think I encountered a similar problem with my brembos. One would not bleed using the pump the brake and crack open method, no matter how many times I tried. After getting a hand pump speed bleeder it finally started flowing brake fluid.Coincidentally enough I swapped...
It might be a good idea to try a different compression tester. I've had a harbor freight compression tester read significantly lower than an autozone one, even though it read even across all cylinders. As far as the no-start, it would help if you could at least post a log so we can see your...
Thanks for the kind words! It was a bi*** to clean but razor blades removed it from the glass and goo gone removed it from the seats. It wasnt possible to remove it from the headliner though. Luckily I sold the car shortly after so I didnt have to deal with it too long. Definitely a lesson...
Hey guys. No big updates but figured I'd keep this up to date. I ended up switching back to spark plug wires from my coil on plug setup. I'm trying to diagnose some bugs so this was one part of the system I wanted to troubleshoot. In order to pull this off I got the JMFab coil pack relocation...
It could be your ecu. On the 2g the alternator output is controlled by the ecu, so if part of that system blows or goes bad it can ground pin 33 and keep the alternator in low output mode. When you unplug the alternator harness you remove the connection running to the ecu and thats why you can...
Well the new generator relay didn't solve this issue, so I'm going to pull the new alternator and get it load tested and see what happens. If it passes i'll check the alternator connector wires for continuity to the ecu and if that doesn't reveal any problems then my hunch is that something is...
It could be a bad reman, but I'm also wondering something else. I'm pretty sure the 2g alternator has a low output mode and a high output mode, controlled by the ECU, that changes given different load types and rpm and whatnot. Im wondering if for some reason the alternator is stuck in low...
Hey guys,
So I dropped off my car to get dyno'd last week and when I got it back I noticed that the voltage was low (have a voltage gauge) while the car was running. I figured that something happened with the alternator during the dyno tuning so I went ahead and got a reman 90 amp alternator and...
Just realized how long it's been since I've updated this. Car has been back up and running for a while now. All seems to be good so I dropped it off to get a fresh dyno tune today so I will report back when I find out the actual whp numbers. Anyway here's a couple pics of the brembo setup and...
Assuming its the plastic one you could always heat up the end of a flat head and stick it on to the biss screw to melt your own notch in it. And then unscrew it and replace it.
Unfortunately I'm back with more questions than answers and I really could use some help. I did some more digging but am not sure what to make of the results.
Using this diagram from above I did some testing at connector C-22 and pinout 14 on the OBD-2 port. Here's what I found:
With the VSS...
Alright so I got the new VSS in and tried testing it like I did the other one but got the same results. I decided to test the connector again using a more sure ground for my multimeter and got these results.
With key in start position testing multimeter at connector:
Black/white stripe>Ignition...
I actually removed the speed sensor but left the connector on, and connected to ecmlink to monitor the "speed". As I spun the gear at the bottom there was zero change, it stayed at 0mph the whole time. Considering I've confirmed that the connector's wires are active and that even the ecu isn't...
Just went out and used a multimeter on the connector to verify the connector and wiring are in tact. Ignition wire is receiving 12v and the ground wire checked out. Since I know the wiring is ok I'll probably just bite the bullet and order a new VSS. Maybe it got hit while the trans was out or...
Alright man, thanks for the info. I wouldn't have guessed it was tied into something else but I wasn't sure. I'll pull back some of the sleeving and inspect the connector to check for damage. Otherwise I guess I'll assume the wiring is ok and try and replace the VSS itself. I just found it very...
Hey guys,
I just got my car on the road for the first time since doing a few things to it over the winter. Everything seems to be going well except for the fact that my speedometer isn't working. I know that it's not a problem with the cluster because ECMlink isn't logging speed either so it...
Pretty sure that one of them plugs into the back of the interior fuse box in the drivers side footwell, and the other one plugs in right above the interior fuse box. You can get to the connector through the grommet under the drivers side fender. Which one is which i cant remember off the top of...
I honestly dont remember how i torqued them, its definitely a possibility i didn't torque them in the right sequence. I'll keep that in mind when i reinstall it. ThanksUnfortunately i didn't purchase the flywheel, it came with the car when i bought it so i dont expect them to replace it...
Hey guys still keeping at it! As of right now, engine is on the stand and engine bay is in the process of getting stripped down in prep for paint. Then I'll be installing the 3g Master cylinder and non abs lines :D oh and I have some other goodies going in! I also got the knuckles to make the...
I did use a needle style torque wrench when installing the bolts, but it didn't seem like the most accurate tool so that's a possibility. I'll grab a good click style torque wrench before installing it again just to rule that out. Thanks for your input man!I basically daily drove this for 6+...
Install was done by me, so whether it was my driving or install I'm taking responsibility for it LOL Just trying to figure out what happened so I can try and avoid making it worse when I install it again.
Hey guys,
I pulled my engine to do some work in the engine bay, and while the engine was out I wanted to inspect the clutch. I put the clutch in brand new and it has only a few thousand miles on it, but upon removing it from the engine it appears to have an unusual heat mark on the flywheel.
It...
Well guys its been a while but im back with some updates. Im happy to say shes been nothing but good to me and i was daily driving it up until october. I got an audi a4 to use as a winter beater/ daily so i can focus on taking care of a few things that have been bugging me.
This winter i plan on...
Yes run a venting tube through the trunk to the outside. I dont even think i had to drill a hole for mine, i just utilized an empty hole. But then again i also removed the washer fluid reservoir and spare tire support so you probably will have to drill a hole.
I have a COP setup and a dynatek CDI, if it didnt look so damn clean i probably would go back to using wires though. I find that it isnt as desirable for a daily driver application becasue i noticed that compared to the stock setup it isnt as smooth at idle and light throttle, but i have...
