The tensioners on the two motors are identical in design, but use different mounting points. So i haven't switched those because it can't be done. The pivoting point is the same though and i have tried interchanging them.

Can you please explain in a bit more detail how i would go about this? I get the clip method, but not what you mean by the spring that the cam gears have to them, and what you mean by pulling them in.

I wish that would fix it but i think there is something seriously wrong. I can install the hydraulic tensioner fully extended and still turn the elliptical 360 degrees. I've tried using all the timing bits from the other motor to no avail. I'm about to wonder if the hole to mount the tensioner...

Ya I solved mine. The oil pressure sending unit was so loose i reached in by the front tire and turned it like 5 times around by hand before i even needed a wrench so it was pretty loose! I tightened it all down now and it seems to have stopped the leak.
