I just recently had a southbend ss/tz clutch and act streetlite flywheel installed along with new master, new slave, oem throw out bearing, and stainless steel clutchline. The system was bled properly and I followed the jacks transmissions video to adjust the clutch pedal. Now when I let out of...
Ground Control - Coilover Conversion kit, 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse/Talon
That's the link. I don't see any options it just says list which rates you want.
I'm going to be redoing my suspension soon and I've decided to go with Koni yellows and ground control springs. My question is what spring rates should I go with? The car is a daily driver that will see a fair amount of drag strip time, I also like my corners and want to keep the cars ability to...
If you get a 20g that fires down you just use the rubber coupling that come with the kit and it'll go straight into the pipe that leads to the intercooler. As for running the VRSF kit with the t25 I don't recommend it, I did it for a while and it was a huge pain. Doing that is actually the...
Based on everything I've read and the posts in this thread, I think I'm going to go ahead and get the light weight fly wheel. I tend not to use my brakes a lot and rely more on engine breaking so the increased slow down seems pretty nice, and I always try to shift as fast as I can so it...
It seems like this is a love hate upgrade. Some love it and do it to every vehicle and some hate it and wish they had never done it. As to the over heating, tmz recommends the streetlite since it is thicker and still made out of material that has a good heat tolerance.
My main concern is maintaining drive ability. The common complaint I see is the car dying when coming to a stop or having a hard time moving around in tight spaces. Is this a big problem or more of something not adjusted properly?
I will be putting a new clutch in my car soon and I figure that since I will have it most of the way apart anyways I should put in a lightweight flywheel. I will be running a tmz kevlar face clutch and after reading the information on their page it seems they recommend using the act streetlite...
It would depend on the track, there was a guy around the track close to me that was running mid 9s before they finally told him he had to put a roll cage in. As for the mid engine, what would be the benefit of doing it? As far as I'm aware mid engine cars are built for better handling. Would a...
The eagle f1 all seasons are what I had on my gsx and I was very impressed with the grip however, they went completely bald with wires showing in less than 10k miles. I just expect longer longevity out of my tires.
What offset are the wheels? I know with a 17x7 +40 you can fit a 235/45/17 on them without rubbing. I can't find the website right now but if you google "widest tire on a dsm" you can find a calculator that will list what sizes work with no to little rubbing.
I'm not sure on size, but I would skip the goodyears. As some one who sells goodyear tires and sees all the problems they have as well as having a set die on me recently I'm skeptical of goodyears. If I were you I would look into either bridgestone re970 pole positions, which I have on my car...
Mine's not one of the o2 eliminater versions. I plan on running a o2 mounted waste gate once I upgrade turbos so i ordered a regular downpipe. My bad I forgot he's a 1g owner, wouldnt have made the suggestion if I had.
SIM's downpipes eliminate the cat as well. They also offer one with an o2 eliminater. I have one on order myself. I'm hoping it'll work nice with my srs cat back.
When I installed mine we removed the crash bar entirely, as well as the brackets/posts that held it in. When we trimmed the bumper cover we cut all of the plastic protrusions out. It fit pretty well after cutting out all of the exess plastic.
Well I'm a lot late in updating this but better late than never right? It ended up taking forever to redo the wheel bearing, remember to let the E-brake lose when you try to take your rear breaks off kids, but it got rid of that horrible grinding noise so I'm happy with it. Also while taking the...
Not to thread jack, but did you have any fitment issues with the SRS/Megan combination? I'm thinking of running that same set up and it would be nice to know.
The fact that your boost and rpm go up with no increase in speed points to a boost leak. I had the same problem and it was as simple as a coupling not being tight enough. As for your headlights getting brighter, it sounds like your clutch is dragging. Mine did the same thing and all it took to...
Now that Income tax is in I just ordered some new parts. new rear tires since the old ones are about bald. Finally ordered a rear hub assembly so I can get rid of the horrible noise and vibrations. As well as a VRSF 2G FMIC and a 1G uncrushed BOV. I had planed on doing more but money doesn't...
If you're doing upgraded cam's I would recommend at least getting new springs and retainers. You're going to need something to tune with as well, Most recommend DSMLink V3 or lite. An upgraded intercooler, either a FMIC or Liquid to air, and a new blow-off valve is also recommended. As well as a...
Running E85 allows you to push more boost and advance timing more due to the higher octane rating. I don't reccomend it on a daily driver as your gas mileage will go way down.
97-99ECByou can download it there. or if you just want to pull it up on your computer the headgasket replacement for a 420A is on page about 200EDIT:just noticed you have to pay $9 to download it
Slap it on craigslist. List everything new and everything thats wrong with it. I had someone pay $500 for my totaled 1.8 '93, you may have to wait a while and you probably wont get $1500 but if the right person comes along you might be able to get $800-$1000.
I was actually going to take care of all the intake come this income tax. The previous owner of the car put a turboxs bov on it and kind of ghetto rigged it into the stock 2g bov flange with a rubber coupling and rtv. Plust im pretty sure my stock hosing is leaking in various spots. I was going...
If I had access to 93 octane I would. The highest grade you can get around here is 91. I have toyed with the idea of running octane booster full time as a way to help balance out the fact that I don't have access to "true" premium gas.
That's good to hear. I may very well use the money I'm saving on not buying the axle's/driveshaft to invest in a twin disc. So does anybody think it's possible to hit my ten second goal on 91 octane or am I just dreaming?
another quick question I want to ask is how street-able is a twin disc clutch? I know the ACT 2600 will make the pedal a little heavier but what about the twin disc? I'm willing to sacrifice a little bit of comfort for more power but I don't want to have to strain my leg just to shift the thing.
I like those ground control springs. The adjustable height would be really nice since this car will be a street/strip hybrid. I also somehow forgot to mention that i will be getting carbon fiber hood, fenders and hatch to help ditch some of the weight. I also forgot to mention my goal time wise...
I have no idea what springs to run. I was going to go with eibach prokits but I read somewhere on here that they are actually softer than our stock springs. I'm open to suggestions.
My bad, i forgot to say that this will be a daily driven car. I appreciate the input, especially regarding the fuel set up saved me quite a bit of money. The fact that its a daily driver is the main reason i was going to go with the new axles and driveshaft, cut down on rotating weight to help...
Ok so now that I have a steady job again and all the backed up bills are paid, I'm ready to start plotting a list of parts and saving up for and buying said parts. I'm hoping to make about 450whp. I'll be running pump gas which sadly for me means 91 octane. Here's the list of parts I have...
I may not know ordering one from mitsumishi im sure you can get one from jacks transmission. The guys there are very knowledgeable about just about all mitsu's. Im sure if you gave them a call or shot them and email they could get you one.
so the other day while tracking down a vacuum leak i found something. I have no idea what it is and it looks like it should be bolted to something. I was wondering if anyone knew?
Im not sure if any of the vendors have it but if you go to andysautosport.com theres a company that sells the oem metal hood. They also have fiberglass hoods if the CF weave is all thats bothering you.
Well I made a little progress this week, I de-riced the car and fixed the turn signal that was out. Hopefully after I get paid I'll have the exhaust hooked back up since the down pipe dosn't actually connect to the rest of the exhaust and when sitting at a red light it gets kinda foul smelling...
I am now the proud owner of a 95 GSX after my 92 GST decided to bite the big one last week. Found it on Craigslist for $3000 with a very recent engine and tranny rebuild (about 250 miles ago now). Sadly the previous owner decided to remove the AC and Cruise control. The heat here is pretty...
