Been tossing around the idea of giving up the current project for now. my other DSM got destroyed in the hurricane and i picked this up to transfer over parts and get it back to what the other one was.
With all i have going on lately, i wont be able to finish the project to where i want it for...
tell me about it... i pretty much just finished the damn thing.....we were in the middle of tuning it before it was destroyed... its over at brians now till we tear it apart but obviously not in the same condition lol
hey all i lost my car in the hurricane and am in the market for a new one...let me know what you have and how muchi would prefer a 2g awd, eclipse or talon doesnt matter
i would also consider fwd cars and gvr4's depending on what you have so feel free to send me info on them as wellim...
im out this weekend...my neighborhood turns into a huge party all weekend and if i leave its a real pain in the ass getting back in.... not to mention ill prob be too hammered to drive anyway lmao
yep, thats the right stuff, the trick is to just make sure it seals correctly.(obviously lol) dont just tighten the bolts randomly, do it in a pattern. start from the middle and work to the end on both sides of the oil pan. if your pan is badly dented etc it may not be a bad idea to replace it...
id be down as long as the car is willing... if you finalize something soon ill forward it to nyccdsm as well
im near Kings plaza, whenever you do the meet should be fine for me, as long as its not earlier in the day during the week
lol im in the nice area lmao...i very rarely ever go through the far rockaway area...the eclipse is a toy so when i do take it, it only really stays on nicer roads. highways and cruises primarily. although i do take it out once in a while around the neighborhood. but it never sees that part of...
i am frequently in the sheepshead bay area... im from the rockaways which is right over the small drawbridge on flatbush, although its been a while since i had the eclipse out in the area since i just rebuilt the motor... i def never had a smashed up bumper either lol...
see you all in a little while, i am trying to finish the 2g now but if im not done by my intended time, i will just be going in my daily... forecast looks good and meet is still on...we might get a short shower if anything at all according to the weather channel....
just a reminder, meet is TOMORROW, for those who said they are coming, i will see you there...for those who havent responded, you are still more then welcome to come and hang out
almost 1 week away, just got conformation on my buddy coming with his legit imported 8g galant vr4, if thats a little more incentive lol,let me know if you plan on attending please
i set up a meet with a few of the various mitsu forums for july 28th at captree state park....there will be a lot of dsms there you are all welcome to come as well... for those of you who havent already responded. the thread is in the new york section so check it out and post in that thread if...
you can bring whatever you like, chips, soda, water, whatever you like, or, chip in if you would like for burgers hotdogs etc... once we get a good crowd there i will run out to the store and grab all the meat buns etc.....again its not mandatory to get anything and i wont assign items for...
list updated....obviously people are more then welcome if you dont let me know, but, it makes it easier to organize if you do so we can secure a large enough area for parking etc.....keep the attendance growing...even if your dsm is in tough shape there are already others who are attending...
list updated....c'mon tuners time to get out there and hang out for a bit...got a bunch of dsm's from the regional board coming...many have also showed interest but im waiting on confirmations before updating the list...
FOR: DSM Tunerswhats up guys? i figured i would throw this up here as well since there seems to be a good amount of interest in getting a few meets together...this meet is being hosted by TGC (thegalantcenter.org)for those who have met me i built a few galants previous to my 2g dsm. they...
there was never a 2g with all black panels, there was always some grey panels... depending on the model you get the parts from will determine how much grey......edit, ^^^ just beat me to it lol
its kind of a pain to take out and put in. it isn't hard per say but a little tedious with the way mitsu ran their wiring and ducting. just take your time. taking it off and putting it back. just remember what you did and reverse your steps.
unfortunately with such a vague description it can be so many things. the fact that it responds normally when you reach a cruising speed would point more towards a boost leak. as said though it can be so many things. check all your basics and go from there.
as said usually it is in the manual. if it is not or you don't have the manual, you will have to contact a dealer. if i remember correctly, you will have to pull the radio and get the code from the top of it. call the dealer with the code and you will have to give your vin as well.
they should...
NY has a pretty large concentration of dsmers. and all i have met are very knowledgeable and good guys ive built a few mitsus but i am currently on my first DSM build as well. welcome man, hope to see you around at some meets etc when they start
X2... but the manifold/ turbo etc gets very hot so leaving a large amount of oil on them is not a great idea, fix whatever is leaking and wipe off whatever oil etc you can.
Has it been high for a while or is this a more recent thing? Did you Check all your vacuum lines to see if they are hooked up right? Even if theres no leak you may have some routed incorrectly.
When you cleaned your tab, did you spray it with any fluid directly? You may have messed up the iac...
It's all a matter of opinion as to which oils you use. I've heard some mixed reviews on Lucas products and don't use them myself personally I tried the oil additive in a old dd Buick I had years ago and it did quiet it down some but I'm not sure how I feel about using it on a performance engine...
You could just buy a roller also swap over all your interior and whatever else you may need, then throw a 63 motor in that as well, it may be a cheaper alternative
Looks good man, just passed that stage myself with my 2g, although I did the engine and all before bodywork.Hopefully your able to retain most of the stuff from your 1g and toss it into this motor
You could always go with a nice 2 din DVD/ gps, check out eBay and Craigslist also they have dropped down quite a bit in price, especially for a model that is not current and would allow you to add expansion in the future.. it also installs pretty easy and they will give you that factory look
You certainly have a project on your hands. It is better this way most of the time though that way you can dedicate time to certain areas and build it to your specs since basically everything needs to be addressed anyway
Looks like you have some work cut out for yourself. Nice price though for a daily...make sure to check the block as well hopefully when the timing skipped and bent the valves nothing else was damaged on the bottom end as well
I dealt a little with ecu flash and open ecu software with my 00 galant...definitions to read and write options were still being created and tested but it's pretty simple...check out tactrix who sells the cable and check out the open ecu/ evo scan forums there is a lot of information there to...
