Maurepas kinda looking for the same I really need someone to tune my spyder but I haven't been able to find anyone who deals with them any info would be huge help
I don't have a logger or dsmlink yet trying to sell my jeep to give me a little wiggle room financially as for fuel level I had around 1/2 a tank this morning n took a hard right at about 40ish mph
It's sitting at 176k miles on the dash as for the fans that was something I did and no it wasnt overheating I just didn't like how hot the turbo and manifold got under the carbon fiber hood. The reason I ask about the crankwalk is because everynow and then when I make hard turns it dies and...
Ok I have a 97 eclipse spyder GST 5spd convertible.
Cooling fans are run direct should I run them back to relay?
It's always had royal purple 10w30 should I stick with it?
And what's the best way to prevent crank walk?
Have someone keep the car running at around 1k rpms and check for a vacuum leak. Also check fuel pressure if possible. Possible loose coupler or hole in your intake after the MAF? Try the little stuff first and see if it's minor would be my suggestion
I grabbed a turbo from a junkyard a while back and it's been sitting in my storage ever since. I was thinking about making my 94 Integra a turbo so I guess I might see if it's worth rebuilding it came off a 1g I'm pretty sure it was a 2.0 but not sure. I know was deffinetly a 5spd
Unfortunately I can't take the turbo off at the moment since it's my daily driver but money is limited at the moment as far as mods go I'll tell you what I know:
Hahn racecraft 16g turbo
Turbo back exhaust
Rebuilt motor (working on what was installed)
AEM Tru boost gauge controller
Like I said...
Ok I recently bought my first dsm and got some of the bugs worked out but
Came across some more issues. The biggest of which is the shaft play in the turbo. Basically I'm trying to figure out which is the better option rebuild or replace??
My toms would drop from 4k to 0 almost like you cut the key off. After I replaced the coupler she runs fine but I'm looking into rebuilding the turbo due to shaft play*rpmsBasically the mass air tells the ecu that there's x amount of air coming in so add y amount of fuel. Well it wasn't...
The way I tested mine was cheap but it worked. Get a PVC cap that will fit into your inlet coupler nice and snug. Drill a hole in it to put either an air coupler or other such device to insert air. In my case I drilled a hole and used a standard air nozzle the squeeze kind. If you go to autozone...
I don't have a tuner yet but she runs fine at 10psi other than blowing the couplers off! I gotta find some better clampsAlso would it be worth it buy a 93 eclipse awd turbo 5apd for $2500? I found one but I'm not sure if it's a good buy
Just wanted to say thank you for everyone's wisdom and advice. I performed a boost leak test as suggested and sure enough I had a half inch hole in a coupler that was by the motor motor mount. I replaced the coupler and the car runs fine. Right now it's running at 4psi but once I get a few wires...
I haven't been able to get the pieces to do a boost leak test due to lack of funds buti did check all the couplings and tightened them all up. When running the car with the aem boost controller off it runs somewhat like a normal car, when I set it to A which is set at 15psi it goes to take off...
Ok will do it might be tomorrow before I know something but when I do I'll deffinetly pass on the information. I'm going to go pick up the coolant temp sensor here in a few but it will probably be tomorrow before I can install it and do the boost leak test
As best I can tell the actuator is doing its job but like I said I really dont know much about mitsubishi's. As for the sick smurf I think he needs some pepto!!Yes you can hear the turbo spool and it is a beautiful sound!!
Ok I will do a boost leak test as soon as I can get the neccesary hardware to perform one but on the boost note it wont build boost past maybe 4psi occasionally
I found out it had a bad coolant temp sensor other than that theres no check engine light runs fine without a load and like I said this is my first mitsubishi and I'm used to toyta's and honda's so I want to learn as much as I can but by the same token I want to make sure the car will be reliable
Oh ok, I have some more pictures that I just took so I'm about to upload them nowhttp://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j468/V8_Reaper/7.jpg

Ok so I have the car back from the shop thanks to the new clutch in my jeep failing on me. Regardless, what kind of pictures would help with narrowing down my current issues? I figured I would need a few of the engine bay and what not but I want to make sure I'm not posting a bunch of irrelevant...
I wasn't amble to drive the car till after I got it home because of the aftermarket alarm. I know it was a bad idea but at the time it didn't seem like one. I'll post as much information as I can as soon as I get it back and I'm going to try to badger the previous owner and see what I can turn...
Ok as soon as I get it back from the shop I will try to perform one. I sent it to a shop because I am literally at wits end with this car and was ready to unload some 230 grain .45 JHP into it
Does anyone know how to upload a picture from an iPhone 4?Unfortunately all the info I have is from the guy I bought it
From who is difficult to get ahold of now
I'm not 100% sure on all the mods but here goes:
4g63t motor Hahn racecraft turbo
Frontmount innercooler
Hks heads
Ive tried a new BOV no luck
I bought and installed a AEM TRU BOOST gauge it starts to sputter @ approximately 0-2 psi when you try to get it to go wot it bucks then spits as for...
Ok, let me start off by saying that I've never owned a DSM before. I'm mechanically inclined and very capable of rebuilding motors. I bought a 97 Eclipse Spyder GST with a 5spd. My main issue was the aftermarket alarm had me locked out of the starter so I installed a push button. Now the car...
