Looking to start a midweek meet up for everyone to come and hang now that the weather is getting nicer. Going to meet at the river walk, downtown Detroit, near the carousel and food court area. It's well lighted, good parking, and allows you to enjoy a good photo op with other cars. This will...
Just got the built short block in, waiting on a few things for the transmission, then she's back on the road. Might be nice to get a modest meet set up for the middle of Feb. The weather is kinda up and down, so let's try and link up on a weekend just to say what's up.
Hello Hello, seems it's been a minute since anything has went down as far as the local DSM scene, so let's go ahead and toss around a few ideas for us to link up. Wednesday/ Thursday meets sound nice, as that will give us something to do midweek. The weather is getting cooler so even things as...
OK, getting about a month away from the event (8/17-19th). Looking to get a good idea of those going, so maybe we can arrange for a convoy, look into rooming, and map out e85 spots for those who need. Wecanstart a roll call here, i'm going for sure.
1) Simborski solid shift kit on 90 assembly. Firm, really direct feel. Coupled with the solid shifter bushing mod, and a weighted shifter, I loved the combo. $100 OBO for it already assembled.2) Evo8 shocks/springs. VERY firm, ready to drop into your 1g and go. Slight lift on the car...
Possible vacuum leak. Could cause you to not be getting proper air to the fuel you're getting the the engine. Is the turbo spooling properly? Considering that your idle is funky, i'm assuming air/fuel problem. Bad idle and lag on acceleration. But not much can be donewithout more info.What's...
Getting a bit of interest in the other site. I'm thinking about heading up there around noon. Also, we're asking that everyone bring a pack of hotdogs, or a pack of beer. This is kinda impromptu, but we'd like this to be a cohesive effort if at all possible.
I also posted on xceedspeed, so every car type is welcome. May end up doing a few hot dogs and a couple brews. All are welcome, come and hang out with us.
Hello guys, it was nice meeting and hanging with a few of you from here (and some from xceed) at Milan. But now we should take the momentum and start planning another event to link and chill. I vote we do something bi-weekly. To keep it pretty open, let's do one event on a weekend, and maybe one...
Looked at a few post, but haven't quite seen my issue. I have an AWD 1g that recently underwent rebuild. I've stiffened my drive shaft up using the window weld method, but I've noticed a new issue. In 2nd gear and up, when I release the throttle to decelerate, I get a weird grinding/grating...
Hopefully Tim will catch a break and still be able to go. He put in a lot of work to coordinate this. Inn still going, and will be meeting at the Woodward gas station around 330. Milan opens at 4, so don't wanna be too late. 313 629 4003. Hit me up people.
Yo Chuck! This is my mechanic, dude is an absolute guru when it comes to this Dsm game. Trust me, dude knows his stuff. Hopefully you guys can s my vehicle soon and see his light work on the strip.
Ill prob be linking with Sinister in a few days. We're gonna try and get some other events together following this. Small BBQ at Belle Isle sometime soon? Maybe a $10 buy in, and I'll handle the grilling or something?
I'll let him know he has pending customers. My car is disassembled in his backyard, plus he has like 2 more 1gs he's messing with and a Colt to build. Might be a miracle getting fit in.
@Darkie, no but chuck is MY mechanic lol. I actually would have met you today had I went over Mikes. Mike is a friend of mine. Small world. Chuck and I have the project log for my car on xceedspeed right now.
Removing things from the engine bay wont produce any negligible weight loss benefits. Maybe ten pounds, max, if even that much. It WILL create a better accessible work area. Aesthetics will improve, but really a good wash and wire tuck will give the same results.
My car will be finished this week. I'll be getting in contact with people slowly to start putting ideas out there. Ill probably hit Sin96 up to maybe get us a FB page started. That way we can post pics, events and dates. Sound good?
I should be tuned pretty well before getting there. My mechanic might ride with me just to see what all this money and work has given us. I'm really only looking for rough numbers here, nothing crazy lol. But I'll shoot you a text before I roll that way.
They normally charge 150/175 per hour. This is kinda like a customer appreciation thing I believe. You should check their site, but I was thinning even if everyone didn't pull, we could still meet up and hang for a few that day.
So, tentatively, Speed Industry in Troy is hosting a DynoDay on march 31st and April 14th I believe for $75 bucks. I'm probably gonna go if anyone else is thinking of doing it. I want to shoot for the 31st, ill keep you guys posted on my confirmed date.
Have you tried xceedspeed forums? It's for MI tuners, lots of DSM guys on there. Be warned, people tend to be bit more of douchebags on that site. Try dsmgirl or dsmraver I believe. We also have a Dsm graveyard. Check there, you might get lucky.
