Today I reinforced the trans tunnel and build the trans mount which bolts up to the tunnel wall
Next step is to cut tha subframe and mount the oilpan to see how low it sits, pretty sure I might have to cut the pan to make it sorter that also mean I have to add extra room for oil plus moding the...
OK so just to add some context about this build and maybe answer some questions
I'm using a spare block and head a I had laying around
Yes the block is sitting on the subframe a have a spare subframe which I'll cut to clear the pan probably the pan will sit to low to the ground I might have to...
I'll try to post from time to time guys
Yesterday I made the 2 front engine mounts just tach weld them for now i need to fab the transmission mount too
Hey guys long time no posting anything!
So long story super short I bought a 1g gsx last week no running no driving today I pulled the trans and case and this thing has a 2g trans "MUZT" supposed to be a 97-99 trans.
The part that's weird is the tranfer case output shaft and as well the tranfer...
You were absolutely right it was a voltage related issue more specific the voltage regulator on the alternator. Thank you I feel kind dumb, been working on this cars for years and not even one crossed my mind to check voltage anyway.. Thanks again
Well make sense is a 31 year old car, I might pull the ecu out tonight and take a look at it if caps are faulty I can do it myself I'll update as I go...
Yeah I did actually I though that was the problem at the beginning al 4 fire also tried some stock 2g injectors a had laying around
I'll try replacing the ISC I think I have another one, I did test the coils on this one and it tested good but at this point i'll just go ahead and replace it
Hi! been a while
So a got a 90 1g gsx last year it was running fine its just need a transmission car pretty much stock other than minor mods.
After the transmission swap car was running as usual afr was good, did a pull to feel out the trans all good until I came to a stop car was running weird...
If in fact is stock try and check for boost/vacuum leaks search for boostleak test on how to!
Change the plugs with some bpr6es gap them at .28
You might also want to clean that stock smic probably is full of oil from the CV if nobody done it before.
Thanks for your replys guys so what do you suggest? what is the better thing to do at this point? Should I just order parts and rebuild? Try and find a new trans? Sorry for the noob questions
Probably this weekend I'm going to drop the trans and have a better look at it. I'll update.
Thanks
Hi guys been a while
So I recently got a 90 1g gsx in pretty good shape for a 30 year old car!
Only issue is the grinding when shifting to 2nd gear or to 1st if I'm not at complete stop. If I shift slowly I get no grind at all rest of the gears work fine.
I'm assuming probably the syncros are...
You should be fine with stock ecu! In these cars unless you start messing with fueling timing and big boost stock ecu should be able to compensate for minor changes.
Well It's solved, they shipped my order, I have never had issues with the before and is pretty much the best place to buy oem parts, price-wise too. I don't have any hard feelings and I would order from the again.
I say communication is key in these situations
I live overseas so it's kinda hard to time a good hour to call anyway a email them and got a response a few hours later there was an issue on their part but but I hope everything gets solved by tomorrow.
I do trusted them I know they are a reputable business and support the dsm comunity. I just...
Hi guys! Maybe I'm missing something here...
Does anyone know whats up with them lately? The most recenr activity from them (Facebook and here) is from Dec 2018.
I placed an order like 10 days ago and got no update at all is not even showing in their webpage under orders in the dashboard tabs.
I...
I'm on pump gas as well 22-24psi stock 2g longblock hx35 with water/meth injection and around 17-18 pick timing tuned myself lol and no idea what hp but I'm guessing right around 380hp-400hp
Well it all depends on the amount of boost, timing and fuel you'll be runing!
I say more.... Hard to guess but definitely is capable of more than 400hp.
Hello!
This might be a long shot... I downloaded LinkTools a while back from Calan's post here https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/ecmlink-linktools.411083/
But now a few weeks ago I've been having this issue where it is no allowing me to import a Log anymore it just throws error 9 and says...
I used to had the high idle problem when i first got my dsm it was 2 things
1. The isc was bad and no o-ring
2. The throttle cable from the cruise control for some reason after the cars warms up it starts to pull holding the throttle plate open just enough to get a high idle
Also the thottle...
Hey guys, sorry for the very late update but life happens... anyway so I tried some of your suggestions, I gapped the plugs even smaller @ .24 while I was on that I found one of my cop insulators ripped so I had to order and replace, then I BLT it holded just fine up to 25psi.
After doing some...
No, no knock at all without the meth, but also I'm on less boost without it! As I said above I'm on a stock 7bolt engine hopefully shooting for at least 400whp that's why I add the meth inj to help reach my goal without risking it too much!
I did actually! I have a kill switch for the meth and boost if a turn it off it goes back 18-20psi no meth stock timing tables and pulls hard and just fine no problems what so ever! I wish I had e85 around but for now I have to stick with my current set up!
Thanks I'll try to gap the plugs as a mentioned earlier and try again if the issue persist I'll swap the nozzle with a #3 which is almost half the the flow rate of the one I have on right now, I'll post back results! thanks
I'm running this set up on a 100% stock 7 bolt engine so I want to squeeze as much as possible power out of it! I'm not sure if it could handle over 25 psi without blowing considering I've been running this set up for over 2 years and this is a 130k miles old engine.
Thanks for the reply
Ok I'll try .22 for the plugs.
The timing I'm seeing is from 12* to 15* since is a wide rpm range where this happens (~4000 to ~7500) should I advance timing even more?
Note: I use dsmlink to control meth injection and using secundary/aux maps as well so I haven't touch my...
What's up guys it's been a while!
So as the title suggest could to much methanol (actually 60-40 mix meth water) hurt performance? And causing spark blow out as well!
So to give a background mod list on profile are up to date if you wish to know more about my set up but is a pretty common hx35...
No. I run the stock 7 bolt water pipe modded cut and weld cause the compressor housing was touching it and after about 7-8 months it carved a hole thru.
Hi!
I don't mean to be rude but there are evo forums which probably will be able to help you better than a dsm forum Yes we do share lots of parts between the 2 platforms but the evo community is as big as the dsm! Now If this was a DSM with the same issue a would tell you to check the ISC/IAC...
Well first make sure it will fit your car.
Check the welds.
Make sure is clean inside
The rest is really up to you! You can sand it carefully and paint it or polish, straighten the fins, reweld if necessary, etc
So! I think I have found the ideal BOV for me!
The new version of the turbosmart race-port is a 50mm BOV and very compact size seems to have better or rather faster response than the tial 50mm BOV and cost about $40 more than the tial.
http://www.turbosmartusa.com/product/race-port
Any first...
I don't really care it can be any flange, I'll just cut and weld if necessary and about the 1g BOV and the type S BOVs like the greddy and NGR is that they are prone to leak cause of the gasket correct me if I'm wrong!
I was eyeballing the "turbosmart kompact" hope is big enough for the HX35...
What's up guys been a while since last post.
I'm looking for a BOV! Searching around the forums found a few but most of them are really old threats (+3 years old) and as we all know there are new products out every year!
Anyway my cheap fake SSQV BOV couldn't hold 20 psi after 4 years of using...
