Its when spark at the spark plug ignites fuel and air in the cylinders near the end of the comp stroke. Simply put, retarding slows down the Combustion. Um like it chases the piston down the stroke but combustion dies cause its to slow, visversa advancing.

Heres what i dont understand ive had a bad ecu, the car wouldnt even stay on it would shut off in 2 seconds after start. Now i put the new one in, the car starts perfect and idels at 1000rpm and doesnt shut off and its bad?

No i ment the engine struggles, and bogs like i cant get into 2nd gear cause its not possible to go that fast, lol. Clutch is good. Timings perfect, compressions good, got spark and gas. So what could cause this?
So i just got my car running, took it for a drive in the parking lot next to my house. Now. It idels fine but when i started driving it just didnt want to drive. Could hardly get into 2nd gear. Feel slugish and very unresponsive. Compression is good kinda low 139 across. Maybe boost controller...

Hello, I'd like to thank everyone for there help. Turns out it was my Ecu. Bought an EPROM used for $110 on eBay. Car started right up. But it seems I have bad injector seals...Leaking gas like wow. so I gotta fix that yet. I have a mbc and idk if it's working? I have a vac line from wastegate...
