I replaced the top motor mount, the one over the timing belt, about a year ago. It's broken again. Is there another mount that I should check that would cause this? Thanks.
I had somewhat the same problem. The temp would rise going up a hill and then return to normal on the way down or on level roads. My mechanic said that it's the classic symptom of constriction in the radiator.
Drop the oil pan and the rod caps are easily accessible. Make sure you cover the rod bolts with something (I used some large diameter heat shrink tubing) as you remove/insert rods with pistons. You do not want to scratch the crank faces with the exposed rod bolts.
You might also have to put...
Measure the hole diameter and select the minimum helicoil size that would fit. They're the best things to use in stripped aluminum holes, in my opinion. I have not used time-serts, however. If the big-sert would keep the same stud size, I would consider that route, too.
I locked the car and pushed and tugged on the hood and the alarm did not go off. I raised the bracket on the switch just in case and locked it again. See if it goes off.
Are there any other sensors or switches that might cause this.? Thanks.
I had the same problem. I removed the mount from the engine, then I built up a bead on top of the broken stud with a mig welder, then I welded a bolt to the bead and used a ratchet to take it out. Came out easy. I originally tried to drill it out but the drill just kept sliding off the center...
Try the weld a washer, nut trick. I use it all the time for studs with a 110v mig welder, and it works great, although I usually weld a smaller sized bolt and then ratchet the stud out.
I also had someone weld a tap to a long rod for a special application, so that says to me that tap metal can be...
I recently replaced the head gasket and rings on my 4G63 turbo and compression readings (warm engine) are:
170, 167, 168, 170.
Oil in the intercooler could be coming from the rocker cover vent line. I put in a fuel filter between the rocker cover and intake to trap the oil. It's quite a bit and...
My '99 Spyder GST's alarm goes off spontaneously. I recently replaced a broken driver's side handle and I suspected the key switch was loose or the wiring was maybe moving around in the door, but I opened the door back up and everything looks good. The alarm only goes off if I lock the door...
