Ok guys he said passenger side of the engine bay. Oil filter housing is on her driver side. It looks like #2 is one the goes by the throttle body. Im not sure about #1
Yes they get exspensive. I found that out on my nt/turbo conversion on my 92. Ive take the 4g63 engines out plenty of times. So im pretty familiar with the wiring and things like that. Thanks for the help. Ill def be doing the bse.
Is there anything i have to put in to conficate for removing the balance shaft? So therex 1 in front and back of a 7 bolt? Whats that ptos and cons if i do them.
Yes. Tires will be the 1st thing to come off then the front axles. Then transfer case and rear axle. It just looks like its going to be alot of work since the car is all stock and well take car of besides the fact that when the engine was rebuilt from the previous owner it wasnt broken in...
I actually have that exact same load leveller. Works nicely. And thanks for the imput. I will for sure just pull both at the same time. Just glad i dont have to worry about something being wrong with it or the transfer case. Now just needing to get it pulled to see how bad the damage is. ;-)
1 hour? Are you serious. I could do that with my fwd. I dont think i could with my awd. But ive never done an awd engine pull either. After doing it a couple times i think i could. But hopefully i wont have to since im going with name brand high quality parts.
Ok i really appreciate the fast resposes. Thats for everybodys 2 cents. I will take all of this into account on my rebuild. I will let you all know how it goes. I trust your guys judgement.
Im going to be pulling the engine in my 96 tsi awd here soon. Is it possible to pull the engine and leave the tranny and transfer case in or pull the transfer case then tranny then the engine? Ive only done fwds so just seeing what would be the easiest way. Thanks.
Im not to cuaght up on body trims. Id just like to put the half moon style wing that came on the 2gs. I like my real low 1 so dont get me wrong, but have always liked the stock half moon style more.Very ni:thumb:cely put. :hellyeah:
Good imput. Thats a pretty good idea.I like the look of no spoiler but want it to keep the stock look as much as possible. Even if i take the spoiler off it will still say tsi awd on the back
Well ive got a 96 tsi awd that has the real low spoil and ive always liked the look of the half moon spoilers. Has anybody changed theres before? Do the hole march up at all? And if not how did you patch them?
Plugs are brand new but i dont mind changing them regardless and i know the wires are atleast 2 yrs old. I wanted to upgrade to 10 mm wites anyways. There isnt really a machenist i can ask. I got it remained there auto zone. They go thru a company in cali. Cant remember the name of the...
Well i had everthing transfer over besides the non turbo block and head. I got the engine remained and bored 50 over. But swaped the resister pack. Ecu. Turbo maf. Gaped plugs. Throttle body. And the fpr selenoid but then unhooked it since its not nessecary to have it. Havent done a boost leak...
Thats the only thing that stumps me. It was set right before. I had it at 5 degrees btdc. Then the seals in my turbo went out so pulled it and replced it. But also instead of 2.5" intercooler piping like i did have before i put on 2" intercooler piping. Then after my intercooler i have my 2.5"...
My goals are to have a bad a** awd auto talon. The sky is the limit. So 450 or 500 whp. So besides headstuds and head gasket what should the internals be switched to. I still want dependable parts. So what pistons etc run good while its stock but can handle hp upgrades.
Ok guys so i just picked up this clean 96 tsi awd. Has blow by and i knew the engine was a goner. Knowing i need to rebuilt it what options should i go with? How are these cars stock. Ive never had a awd and a dsm that was stock with a turbo. Ive done a 92 turbo conversion. But i know the 2gs...
Sell it as is for 1000... Ummmmm probaly notI didnt think i would have found a deal like this either. But the guy needed the money and needed the car gone. So there i was.
It took a couple weeks to get the money together and thank god the guy still had it. In my drive way at once. Got the guy to 550. What do you guys think?
I would probaly wait. I just got a bone stock 96 tsi awd for 550. Super clean in and out with 120k Needs an engine rebuild ofcourse. But i wanted 1 so bad and just had to wait and keep looking. It will come your way
Well like you will hear from more people than me. Mods dont sale a car. Its a plus to have them but not the original thing. Id say 1800 is a good buy back. Exspecially if u sold it to him for more than that. Id say go for it.
That just depends on how rare DSM's are in your area. But im not thinking its worth 5k. I would pay that much for it in kansas and dsm's are very rare here. Mods on a car doesnt sell a car. Its good that it has the gm maf. Thats a start. But i would offer 3k.
Needs turn signals it looks like. Timing belts arent hard to do. You will need to get a chilton or hanes manual. It will walk you thru it. He says it needs turbo hoses so thats not to bad. You could just go with 2" or 2 1/2" hard piping. I would go ahead and do a small front mount while you at...
Well ok people. Get back to the OP. Nts can be fun yes. But did you notice he said he wants to whoop up on his friends hondas? In my way of thinking that means beat them so bad there is nothing they can do. So yes a turbo is what he needs or may just be what he wants. In all reallity it is his...
Hell yea. Hes askin 800. Shoot him the "well ill do 500 and it will be gone today" and im sure he will say ok. Happened to me to many times with cars ive buaght in the past. Will need a new front bumper and looks to be maybe tires as well. But for what it needs ## talking 500 to 1000 bucks and...
The guy wants a DSM not a beater. DSM's are the kings in import if and only if you take care of them. So why tell him to buy a honda on a dsm forum? Yes there exspensive. Yes they take maintenance. But what vehicle after you mod it isnt and doesnt take extra maintenance to keep it up?
I beleive i need new spark plug wires and it ran good as turbo before just high idle then blew the oil seals in the turbo from my return line being kinked. I still have the nt motor. Just all the sensors and wiring from a turbo and turbo ecu. I think it may have something to do with the biss...
Well guys id like to figure out what is goin on with my 92 nt to turbo talon. Just got done with my turbo rebuild and put a new frount mount on that was dif size of piping then what i had before. I have 2" going from the outlet of the turbo to the intercooler and the 2" out of the intercooler to...
Did anybody notice he said "ill trade for a civic". Usually "not all of them" honda owners treat there vehicles like crap and drive them hard. I would very much look it over. But i do like the black on black. But knowing if its just esi, tsi, or tsi awd will help us out alot.
I have the stock 5 speed regulator allready in my talon now. And have a spare as well. Just know that i will need to upgrade later and seeing if anybody had luck with the ebay afpr's
Well with this time of year here and im on a tight budget and looking to get a afpr for my 92 talon nt with the turbo conversion. Looked online with ebay and found a few dif afpr's. Just wondering if they are even worth the 20-40 bucks you spend on them. Thanks for the imput everybody.
