ok so here is the deal last saturday i replaced my head because i had a dead cylinder do to a valve not seating right. i put in 3g lifters and put my 272's back in
bolted everything up did an oil change with vr1 20w50 and new tranny and transfer case and diff fluid redline 85w140. i messed up...
imo you are going to want to go sway bars instead off strut bars they will improve the handling and reduce body roll drastically. the strut bars i don't think you will really notice a difference like you are thinking you will. and ST sells a great set for a good price.
correct me if im wrong but from the manufacture the ignition was setup on like a wasted spark setup there for if you hook the safc up you would do it as a 2cyl. if im wrong let me know
current update stopped trying to tune it for now just made it drivable
1) tested the 2g maf came back bad so just threw on the 1g mac till i can get the map sensor and iat sensor to go sd.
2) o2 sensor went bad have to replace.
3) opened ecu and has white residue sending to ecmtuning to have...
hey i thank the both of you for helping me get this thing online i will do a BLT when i get home tonight.could the wacked out airflow be a bad maf sensor?the last time i calibrated the wideband was when i installed it last week went from the aem uego to the innovate mtxl
i cleared the dtc's i unplugged the 2g maf and plugged it back in and codes stayed away.
i did exactly what the video said now my dead time is very high but it seems right at idle. the only thing i didnt do was the cruise maf compyes that was on the launch control when it did that
the idle and cruise is semi ok im more worried about the going 9.-1 afr in higher tps position need to try and figure out what is going on or what im doing wrong.
new log want opinions on what doesnt look right and what needs to be changed. sorry it was a long cruise with a few minor pulls.the only thing i can think of is richen up at idle and pull fuel up top.
NLTS is not going to kill your tranny, it simply allows you to keep rpm's up while shifting so you can keep the turbo spooling. just hook it up so you won't have to deal with it later.
with your ecu being chipped it probably is set up for the cel to monitor knock. you said it only happened at higher rpm what were you boosting at the time and what was your afrs need to know before people can actually give you a good answer or people are going to just ramble on and on about stuff.
not trying to bash but i had the safcII and that thing was the biggest piece of garbage. i sucked it up and went with link and have had absolutely no problems. plus with link there is such a big support network compared to the safc in the dsm world. my opinion is just save up the extra cash and...
my personal experience is before you can dial in what the idle issue is or any other engine problems you are going to have to fix all of your leaks. they could cause so many problems and headaches for you. just get a leak tester and check for all leaks and fix. The charging system needs to be up...
hey when it comes to doing the timing belt thedsmgraveyard.com has a good tutorial that will show you how to do it with out even coming close to messing it up he makes it dummy proof
new log with a few adjustments still seems like its all over the place with idle and i can't figure out how to smooth it out any more. I got my car from a guy who hacks stuff together so im trying to fix everything. still haven't got my wideband hooked up to the ecu but i am monitoring it as i...
Ok this is why im still on probation with this site because I keep rushing things and not setting up my stuff properly first sorry im watching my wideband and it seems to run a tad rich up top but will hook it up and figure it out
Ok so as the title says im new to the whole dsmlink thing i have done a few mods and bought link a few days ago now im wondering a good base tuning setup here is a list of all of my mods1991 talon tsi6 bolt block bored .40 over with npr pistons 8.5-1 cr

When i get the money i am getting dsmlink but have to make this do for alittle while. and if the SAFC2 does not measure knock then why is it measuring knock and hooked up to my knock sensor. not being a smart ass or a dick saying you are wrong, just asking a legitamate question.
hey its easy to build just go to grandpas and pick up a end cap that will fit your inlet pipe and go to ricks used tire shop outside gate 6 and get a good tire valve and drill a hole in it to pull the valve in to seal and there you go.Iff you really need help I'll take you up there and get the...
Ok I've tried the zero out thing before and I run off the charts lean. The benefits of having the safc2 is 1 it has a knock gauge and 2 ut has a 30sec logger so I have logged everything and at 20 psi I have no knock at any rpm other then idle and its a phantom knock then
Ok so here is the deal I've tried using the rre site for a base tune but they all were either way lean or pig rich. Here is a list of mods done please help me with a good base tune to start with.4G63T
stage 1 block with 2g pistons 8.5:1 bored .40 over

your oil pump is built into the front case cover the bottom gear closet to the firewall is your oild pump it runs off of you timing belt this link is a picture the spline on the right is theoil pump minus the GearDSM Graveyard - Your #1 Source for DSM Parts!
Reinstalling the head is very simple just make sure you torque everything to spec and in the correct sequence. also here is a link that will make the timing a breeze for you it is alot easier then you think.DSM Graveyard - Your #1 Source for DSM Parts!
it is possible but like he said if it were causing an issue it would be leaking fuel, here is a link for idle surge issues.

need more info from you like what is your boost set at? is the fuel system stock, what turbo is really on it? and also you realy need a wideband that will let you know how rich/lean you are running and when.
That does not sound loud enough not deep enought to be rod knock. It sounds like its top end check to make sure a rocker arm did not go bad or come completely off alignment.
its not that hard just take your time and put all of your bolts in labeled bags will make life alot easier when going back together. unbolt the bracket from the intake manifold if i remmember correctly there are two 14mm bolts holding the bracket to the manifold.
the 4g63 is just a hot running car if your temp gauge is telling you its fine it more then likely is. and as far as the stock boost gauge your better of not fixing it just get a aftermarket one because as eveyone is telling you the stock ones are garbage and dont measure correctly.
you are defanitly going to need to tune that car.Running 750's with no fuel compensation is just dumping fuel into the engine. To the point it wont even burn, and is causing the wideband to peg lean from 0 combustion of oxygen. The sensor reads oxygen, not fuel, so blowing unburnt fuel out...
