Hey All,It is time for me to move on to something new. With that, I am selling or trading my 1993 Eagle Talon. It has been proven to 660AWHP. This car is an animal. Some of you have probably seen it at the Mitty or other events. The car runs and drives and is tuned to run on e85. This...
I'm not sure of the hx35 variant. I can tell you it is a 7 blade with the stock holset 12cm t/s exhaust manifold, but otherwise idk.In regard to flow, the hx35 can flow much more than most believe. I think I may have had a slight wastegate leak at 42psi. With the right tune and support I...
The car you are speaking about is mine and while you are mostly correct there is a variable here you are not considering. When I built the car I mad that much HP by accident. I had a goal of 500whp and I overshot it by a significant margin. As a result there was a significant amount of...
Event does not require a cage.My car was an exhibition car and is way above the $20XX limit, but was a challenge car back in 2010.I ended up finishing 14th overall out of 60 cars, but that was with tires that were still greasy and a 12.9 @ 120MPH quarter mile where I blew something in...
Mounted the new oil cooler. This is behind the Intercooler, but before the radiator. There is no room on the other side of the intercooler. Some cutting was done to improve air flow over the radiator. Those with a good eye will see the lower radiator support has been cut and re-welded into...
New Power Steering Reservoir. Built this from an e-bay universal model. Really surprised with the quality, seemed very good. Fabricated a mount out of aluminum and the 90 degree bend off of the bottom. Total volume is more than twice the OEM reservoir. Replaced because my reservoir was...
Starting this thread to keep myself honest.Today is as little less than 2 weeks from the $2015 GRM Challenge. DSMs will be well represented this year. About a year ago a friend and I purchased the former Hawver test mule, a 1991 Eagle Talon TSI. I purchased the car to take the intake...
There are paints to recolor soft interior parts. I know duplicolor has a system for this. also, there are technicians that specialize in interior repair and re dying.I don't know how good they are so maybe try a small part first?Link: http://duplicolor.com/product/vinyl-and-fabric-coating
I posted this thread a while back, might be of some help...http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/how-to-repurpose-stock-sliders-for-race-seat-tall-driver-corbeau-fx1.492891/
Any car can be made to handle. It is mainly a question of how much you are looking to invest. Even with significant modifications the dsm will never feel as light or noble as a rx7.I took my car (1gb) to a skidpad challenge and won the modified class pulling 1.349g.Even with that amount...
More wheel = more tireThe larger the wheel the greater the contact patch surface front to back. This is exactly why modern race cars run 18-19in wheels nowEdit: just reed your post with context, you are referring to sidewall height and are correct. Bigger wheel = less sidewall
Looking at the ad. There isn't much the owner hasn't touched. If you can drive the car and it accelerates, turns, and stops well I would offer the owner $2000 and walk away at anything more.Everyone here can give you advise on things to check, but you wolnt really know what the issues are...
I agree with pauleyman. Ad and price is pretty much inline with what I see there. If anything, I would say the price is a couple hundred high. The main thing you will need to look at is how well all of the modifications were executed. From experience, undoing another person's bad work is...
Canadian cars post 1995 complied with all us standards. If you are taking the car from the US to Canada there should be no issue. Canada import laws are much more lax than the US. I believe any car over 10 years can be imported into Canada. That is why they ha e Evo 4 and 5 there already.
Hey All... good to see stories about our cars every now and again. This one is about the Eagle Summit drag racing supercars.https://www.yahoo.com/autos/s/watch-450hp-minivan-embarrass-nissan-gt-r-viper-183044913.html
Im not really sure what kind of response you are looking for here?MY can makes 606awhp on a stock bottom end and will rev out 9K. Only real changes have been uprated (Kiggley Beehive) valve springs and ARP hardware where appropriate.I track and autocross and this setup has now lasted a...

http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/17x10-wheels-on-a-1gb.492322/The crazy thing is I have had 295/17 tires on the car in the past. It is currently higher than I would like, but lowering the car will require a significant amount of cutting.
Just a bit of advise... youtube is an amazing resource for welding videos. Spend a couple hours watching mig welding videos and it will significantly lessen your learning curve. Best of luck.
Pretty limited machine. You can only do steel with a flux core welder and have limited control over the weld.Make sure you get flux core wire for a gas-less welder.
Wheels/Tires: 17x10 Mustang Cobra Wheels, Toyo RA1 275/40/17. The tires are pretty much on their last cycle before they get thrown away. The funny thing is I could have probably gotten another .5 g's out of thec ar with a set of fresh tires.Suspension: BC, Full custom.
Hey All,Thought I would share an event I was a part of this past week. I went to the Mitty at Road Atlanta. For those who do not know, The Mitty is the nations largest HSR race. Pretty wild event with everything from vintage jaguars and Alfas to LMP cars.Anyway, I took part in the GRM...
Thanks for the feedback. I havn't decided how far this car will go in regard to the cage. At one point I thought I would for t a full 10 point, but the car currently has a very Pro-Street feel to it that I like alot. It is nice not having to climb over tubes to get in and out of the car. I...
Car only has a 1/2 cage right now so no halo or forward tubes but the front plates are in. The rules i've seen state the drivers helmet must be below the top line of the roll cage, with this solution I will meet that rule when the front cage is installed.
For me, being very long torso-ed. I have two inches with the race seat padding. If I remove the padding (like I do for autocrosses and track days) I will have the same two inches without the seat padding. The seat is basically sitting on the floor. and only sacrifices an inch above the stock...
Photos are posted below. For those curious, the plating on the seat slider is gold cobalt-zinc. To be clear gold cobalt-zinc is not a color it is a type of metal plating. Very cheap process.
Hey all,I figured I would provide what I did in re purposing the stock sliders for a race seat. There is significant mis-information on the site that this cannot be done effectively. The information is incorrect. I am 6'4" with a very long torso and I utilized the stock sliders and created...
Wrong vendor. My mistake.http://www.oewheelsllc.com/Wheels_3/Single-Wheels-for-Ford-Mustang/Mustang-10th-Anniversary-Deep-Dish-Wheel-Gunmetal_4#.VS1Xi9zF-4IThey are 17x10... It also looks like they have a really good sale on them right now if interested.A final note on these wheels...
Adding flares would change the class if they were aerodynamic, but that doesn't really matter for me because I'm already in Modified.Offset on the wheels is +20
Hey All... Thought I would throw this out. Many dsm'ers have asked what my car looks like with the 17x10 wheels on. Here are some pictures...The tires are 275/40/17 on all four corners, but I have ran as wide as 295. Rubbing is minimal and significantly less than what I had with 245/18...
