    timing loose and then tight?

Auto tensioner is fine, the belt is new, and I did it yesterday and everything was fine except for the crank being one tooth off. Second attempt this morning.

    timing loose and then tight?

All on a 90 tsi awd.My timing belt was loose as hell before I tore into it.. I could move the belt an inch up amd down between the cam gears. Now I tore the covers off and turned it over a few times by hand to check timing and its tight now. Any ideas? Didnt touch any pulley jist turned it...

    5th gear

Fresh gear change with atf4, no metal shavings at all. Pops out of fifth when under pressure, like going up a hill or decent acceleration. I noticed that it feels like the gear isn't fully engaging. Shifts into the gear fine, doesn't grind, but when it is the the gear you can move the gear...

Cars finally on the road, few problems

If it's that far back it won't effect the o2's or anything. Unhook the vacuum line off the top of the TB, get a full can of seafoam, run it through, then clear the CEL and see if it runs the o2 codes again.
  14. camsmurdered2g

Cars finally on the road, few problems

As far as the exhaust goes I would just jack it up and shake it by hand, that way you can tell if it is hitting anything, what it is hitting, and check the hangers. What part of the exhaust is missing a gasket?
  15. camsmurdered2g

Cars finally on the road, few problems

1- Sounds like the exhaust. Check and see if a hanger broke or maybe it needs another. 2-:thumb: 3-Run a can of seafoam through and if it throws the same code replace both o2's. Make sure there are no pre-o2 exhaust leaks. 4-If the belt is tight and without damage check the fluid level. If...

    Front mount intercooler

Agreed, but you have a 420a and an auto to start with, both negative's. My recommendation would be to save your money, keep your GS stock or lightly modded (intake/exhaust) for reliability, and save up for a 4G63 or something else.Just a side note, OP, have you thought about after you...

    Alton area cruise grp

I have a FB group of all import vehicles in the Alton area. We usually have a cruise every month, the occasional BBQ/wrenching party and sometimes a cruise to midnight madness or other events at gateway. If you have a park bench and your hatch and neons on your car then don't waste your time...

    Front mount intercooler

Either have a seperate DD if you decide to turbo your 420 or have a open schedule, good friends, and extra cash. Don't make the mistake of attempting to turbo your car in a weekend. As for the FMIC, as was said, useless for now and should be one of the final things on your list for turbo parts...

    I/H/E Bolt-ons; Runnin' Rich?

Wow what morons. I would report him for sure. You paid good money for a service which he warrantied and if you recieve anything less it is on him to fix that. If you ordered a big mac and got a kids meal you'd probably complain and want it fixed right? lol

    I/H/E Bolt-ons; Runnin' Rich?

First off the AFR gauge will help you monitor another aspect of your car which would otherwise be hidden, somewhat, and it will help you narrow down problems. Regardless you will need a wideband or SAFC with a boosted build or massive N/A build.Glad to see your car is running better now go...

Clutch not fully disengaging, bad slave cylinder???????

I am having this same problem. The PO said he replaced the master, which looks new, and I just replaced the slave and it is doing the same thing. Went through almost a whole bottle of DOT 3. Seems like there is always air in the line. I believe my pedal is adjusted all the way out.I am...

Sounds good. Give us an update when you get it back. I used to be an automotive machinist for Napa so I know what you're machinist is doing..The hydraulic lifter mishap is an easy mistake to make but fortunatly didn't end up a costly one. Between the wrong bolts and the valves not seating im...

    FWD Gas tank drain plug

I would try auto parts stores first just to see if you can get it at a better price, maybe a JY, but those unique items like that are a b**ch to replace with an older vehicle.
  33. camsmurdered2g

    Does this look bad?

If you have room do maybe a 45 coupler to a 45 bend..

  36. camsmurdered2g

    Does this look bad?

Wouldn't look horrible if it wasn't for the passenger side 90 sticking out. Definatly needs some touch-up work.

    FWD Gas tank drain plug

If you still have the bolt you could try Lowes or some hardware store that has a wide variety of nuts/bolts. If you have no luck there junkyards? craigslist parts car? Auto parts stores? I would check those in that order.

    Front windshield decal

I guess I see what he is saying now but it really isn't rocket science. Out windshields don't have that much contour to them so even if you got a straight bottm cut you wouldn't have much "frown" to the vinyl.

    Front windshield decal

  41. camsmurdered2g

    Front windshield decal

IMO, it should go across the entire top of the windshield. The only way you could get around that would be if you had just the lettering/logo without a background vinyl. Heres how I do all of mine:1-background vinyl that goes across the entire windshield 2-center and lay the logo/lettering...

Evo 3 hood vent on 2g

I agree, the 2g is too bubbly and smooth to throw in something that edgy and sharp. I would just keep the OEM hood and save up for a CF one.
  45. camsmurdered2g

    Front windshield decal

6-8 inches for the width, and you can get it either way. Me and a friend have a vinyl cutter and make all our own banners and decals and we did both my eclipse and his mazdaspeed protege in one night, both cutting out and laying down a peice straight across then trimming acordingly with a razor...

    Question on bov

I forgot it was recirc, I apologize. I am used to aftermarket vented.
  48. camsmurdered2g

    Question on bov

Sure without one is fine, you just have a huge boost leak and will be running extremelly rich if at all.. And if you BOV isn't working, charged air in the engine whenthere shouldn't be is great too!
  49. camsmurdered2g

    Question on bov

Just buy a decent BOV please lol
