That’s good stuff, I didn’t know that there was another manufacturer offering that ecu and at a great price. Also looks like they give you a base map to start and offer remote tuning. Does anyone with an auto car have any experience with this ecu?
I do believe in what you say. However for me I wasn’t very successful with it trying to run 2 sets of 1600s. And after 4 years and endless frustration of trying to get it to hell right, I am moving on. I think link is a great ecu but when trying to add certain extra features of control it is...
A mid frame turbo up here struggles because we don’t have the air to maximize it. Most midframe turbos up here struggle to make more than mid 35 to maybe 40 pounds of boost and fall. On the dyno that I use all the time I couldn’t make much power out of that 69. My 83 at the same boost level made...
Well, I have not successfully ran a full pass on the 83mm yet. When I went to that turbo I changed a lot of stuff. I was on Aem v1 and I went back to dsmlink, I kept blowing up motors on v1, timing drift on cylinders and at the time I didn't know what was going on I would just lose the motor...
We will see what the little turbo can do. 83mm will be back next Wednesday, Not sure if I am going to the shootout or not had plans for it, haven't been back to race it since 2010. Every year the plans are to go but, end up hurting the car before that takes place. This is not a shop car so...
Basic 2.0 Aluminum Rod setup.
7 bolt short block, wet, grp rods, wiseco 8.5.1 off the shelf hd pistons. Stock crank, 2g Head, No port work, Valves and springs Kiggly,Kelford 294/300 cams. jmfab intake manifold, shearer top mount manifold 44 gates.Fuel, mechanical pump, secondary bosch 1000 pump...
It makes full jam about 4700 on my setup. I am going to go back to the dyne and turn it up for all it's worth then I will be going back to the track.
I too am curios of how it is going to perform. I usually run a bullseye s383 on the car, I have it sent in for rebuild after 5 years and decided...
Has anyone dyno'd the borgwarner s369? I bought one dynod it on my 2g through the auto 38 pounds of boost mustang dyno a little over 400. Wasn't real impressed, but I didn't go all in on it. The dyno that I use is very stingy. I took it out for a 2nd gear pull and it felt like a 6466 car on...
I am rarely on the forums and need to put more stuff in my profile. I will try to update it soon. The car is a 1998 talon. Motor wise it is a 2.0L, Grp Rods, Wiseco 8.5 to 1 pistons. Manley Crank, Stock Head, Stock Valves No Name. Giggly Be Hive Springs, Felpro Head Gasket. Arp Bolts Everything...
Best of luck man. I am going out 1 last time for the year hoping to finally run a 8 second pass and have it drive back in the trailer under its own strength
I am a die hard 7 bolt guy. Its all I have ever used never cranked walked one. Have gone through main bearings spinning the car past 10000 rpm a lot. Go through a motor about every 3 years with tons of dyno time and track time. I have made a lot of low 9 second passes at altitude. But not...
Dude that's got to be the lowest comment I have ever heard from a fellow dsm'er about a problem. I have been in the game at this level for over ten years, I didn't just buy these parts yesterday, and didn't copy anybody. I definetly think it's the converter but, would figure I would ask someone...
Kiggly, I have almost the same turbo but a bullseye s383 87 turbine 1.25 exhaust housing, tuned on a mustang dyno yestersday and couldn't see more than 650 horse through the auto from 35 to 50 pounds of boost the numbers stayed the same but you could tell on the dyn that the car was making some...
Trust me you, that's always the plan. I usually go to test and tune the week before I have planned to get out of town and hurt the motor almost everytime. I blew the motor last year a month before the shootout and that killed that dream, year before I broke my ankle so I came down as a...
Turbo Anything, I got where you were going with your post about keeping motors together and running 100 passes running those times. For me at 6800ft that would be a pipe dream if I could achieve that. I don't have a shop, a dyno, people working on my car, or endless budget. At this altitude...
I would run a felpro head gasket, they are the best in the business imo, My block is o ringed and my head is reciever grooved and I run a copper gasket. But if I had just a good surface on head and block I would run a felpro.
No, I hold the record. That white 2g is super cool and will probably for sure end up beating me again for sure. Doesn't matter to me anyways, I just thought that it was a pretty cool thread so i figured i would give my 2 cents. I have 3 motors in the works right now so, hopefully for sure...
I finally got mine in the eights this year1 time but blew the car up and haven't backed up the time yet. I am in denver at 13,000 da. English Racing has helped me out alot with my setup to get it here.
Great run Jeff, happy to see more importantly that it stayed together. The 7 second pass will be all day long next year as good as the car looks like it is running.
Sooo, when are you headed back to the track. You have been super quiet this year on the forum. I blew my car up once again, so upset about it until I am just sick. I am going to switch to another ecu and probably go mechanical pump. But anyways, let's see something exciting before winter. I...
You know as of right now I haven't had any problems with the rear end besides breaking the rear diff cover on hard launches, Got that fixed so should be ok I hope.
My first goal is to keep my car together. Then start turning it up from there. Honestly I believe if I can turn the car up and it stays in 1 piece you should see some mid to low 8's up here. I have never ran the car all in because of problems in the past. There's still a lot left under the table...
I have to agree with Steven on this 1. I have over 4 dsm's and I usually meet and converse with other dsm guys at the track or that i have met at some event. The Bs. that i see posted about dsm's and who is doing what just throws me for a loop. I am not sticking up for Steven but, he has been in...
Hey guy's, this is Marcus I met you guy's at the shoot out and we shared a few beers together, talked at length about headgaskets and stuff like that. It's good to see you guy's getting back after it, when you get the drivetrain figured out, this car will be a beast!:thumb:
Nelson, unless i can produce the cam caps for my motor real fast the car will not make the shootout. Scambling like hell to make it but it's looking slim. If the car doesn't make it, we will still come and check you out.:)
Hi Nelson, this is Marcus. Don't know much about you but, i did read your thread, pretty cool car true enough. i don't come on the forums often for these very reasons. Now as far as the shootout, i will be there if you qualify in quick with us, maybe you will get to run with us. I won't return...
Why don't you run a race map and leave that map as a street map?At the track the cell real e85 and real e98. and whatever race gas you would like. then you can run a much more aggressive tune with minimal knock. Also suspension is everything , to get that car hooked up and going straight...
Those numbers and times are out of sight for a 20g. i have an fp green on my driver, built 2.1 same 272 aem and I am struggling to make that same power through a dynojet.
Other than the shoot out i have never raced below 6000ft, so i am sure there will be alot of adjustments and learning curves. I read your posts all the time, I blew up three motors last year and I still don't know why either. Changing a bunch of stuff pretty much same as you did, let me know...
I work friday night after 2 so if you wanted to pick it up today it would have to be before 2. Saturday, i work during the day so, it would have to be after 3. Let me know when you might be able to make it?
