They are M10 x 1.25 and the length im not sure, one is like 50mm, and the other may be like 30.I Have grade 8 now, I'm looking for grade 10. I don't want to have any issues with these ever again.I know all about left handed drill bits, easy outs, and all other extractors. Lol.As far...
So while cruising my Talon home a week or two ago, I heard an odd sound. I was already aware that my cv boot was torn, so I decided to pull over and inspect it just to be safe.I then notice all my Gear oil is coming out my trans. From the transfer case area.I get it towed home, and...
I had both my driver's side CV axle intermediate shaft bearing carrier mounting bolts fall out. So the axle pulled just far enough out to dump gear oil out the tranny.I replaced the driver's side cv axle today, and need assistance finding out what the dimensions of those two carrier bolts...
It seems that you are having a wiring fault of sorts. The fact that you relocated everything leaves even more variables to be checked.I would check continuity of all your grounds and hot leads at each of your relocated devices. At the fuse box, at the battery, etc.I would also check...
Tech Guide - DSMtunersWelcome to DSMtuners. This site has 95 percent of anything you could ever want to know already stickied and laid out in a spoon fed fashion. Which is fantastic, and rare to come by on some car forums. With that said, please take the time to look over the site, and use...
Exactly my thoughts, Its like 20 inches of piping in plain sight with three taps off it, a MAS connection, and a turbo inlet connection. It takes 10 min tops to remove the entire assembly.I have no idea why you haven't solved this yet.As a previous poster suggested, re-install your...
Nice to see another local DSM doing things right. I have some parts you may be interested in, including a 1g BOV and 1g UICP for it, side skirts and some other jazz, PM me if you are interested in a local deal.Boost leak testing is probably my favorite diagnostic test, its really satisfying...
So, im driving my 95 talon TSI AWd 5 spd, with all the mods in my profile in case someone is wondering, and i feel something weird happen while just cruising in 5th at about 65 mph. I pull over to check it out, and as soon as i look under there, all my gear oil is flowing out my tranny...
Mine functions up/down while holding it normally, i just don't have the "double click/one touch" automatic down. I'm swinging over to U Pull it today, to get another switch and some odds and ends. I like dissecting a junkyard car before i tear apart my own door panel.Maybe i will find some...
I adjusted the BOV, it is now functioning as intended, seems that i had a pinhole in my BOV vacuum line as well, which has been rectified.Im looking into the window issue, its quite strange.
Car runs and drives, starts and the whole nine, window works fine, its the one touch auto drivers side down that isn't functioning. Its not a voltage/amperage problem, its like something needs to be reset.Recirculated of course.Im leaving it alone, lol.Cool.Thats some positively...
Ok so Im motor swapped (out of a 97 gst iirc), Rebuilt by me 14b swapped. Evo 9 fuel pump, MBC, VRSF FMIC, Turbosmart BOV, K&N filter kit. Not sure if ECU is swapped or tampered with. Running 16psi. TPS set properly, may have minor boost leaks still, I need to BLT again. Here's a few questions...
Get an Evo pump. They are cheap used, flow more fuel, and are Denso OEM drop in parts.I paid 20 bucks shipped for my Evo 9 pump, its a direct bolt in part. They look identical, but the model numbers and flow rates are very different. Best way to go, imo.
I have hesitation issues from time to time, mine are from the lack of the retaining metal clip on my tps connector. which leads it to become loose. It doesn't trigger a OBD2 code, but gives me horrible hesitation, especially when boosting. Plus a kinda stutter and slight bucking.A quick and...
Another update.I cut my hood stiffening channel a little bit to make clearance for the Turbosmart BOV. It is now free and clear, finally my woes with it are over!!I made a BLT, and started testing. Here are my leaks.J pipe
TB gasket
BISSI fixed the J pipe, the biss, and got the TB leak...
Another update.I did an oil change, and topped off fluids. Dextron 2 atf for my PS, water wetter and 50/50 for my cooling system.I started her. No fluid leaks at all. Surprisingly actually. My OFH feed block is working great. My PS cooling coil bypass loop, is leak free.No CEL...
Its been a month, time for some UPDATES!!!First off, I have my VRSF FMIC installed!!!<a href="http://s82.photobucket.com/albums/j270/Shivyourmom/?action=view&current=74254818305.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j270/Shivyourmom/74254818305.jpg"...
Actually, the hatch sold, pretty much the bulk of the parts are gone.I have eclipse tail lights, two sets of sideskirts, then some ac control switches and some hatch parts (bolts and the latch)left.I apologize for not updating this thread.I don't have any steering column parts or...
Its all bolted up in the car, and I ported it. So there's time invested.I do have a 2g from the t25.Hmmm.Knowing that thread size would be a determining factor.
So im in the process of a 14b swap on my 95 talon. When I removed the old o2 sensor on the 14b's o2 housing(which was a giant PITA even with a torch and my giant self trying to remove it), it came out with mauled threads, which is why it was such a pain.I now how a few options.1...
A boost controller will control the actuation of the wastegate, but it is meaningless when your stock 2g bov opens at 11-14ish psi. So in fact the BOV wasn't controlling boost but putting a max psi "cap" for his system. Thus saving his motor from anything past what the 2g BOV could handle.I...
Wow, i am totally glad I read this thread!A whole lot of excellent research and knowledge.Konis and gc. Thats the ticket, lol.Jtmcinder, you are as hilarious as you are informational. You may be my DSM hero right now. Priceless.
The 14b, oil feed line, and coolant lines came from the junkyard.Crush washers can be bought at any auto store. Or onlineExtreme Psi has pretty much everything, and great prices. Not to mention they are a local business by me, which I like supporting.EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for...
None. Here's what i have needed14b turboo2 housing gasket (i ported my O2 out, you should do this as well)Turbo to manifold gasketMake sure you have the oem conical/belleville washers for the 4 turbo to manifold boltsNew crush washers for the three banjo bolts on the...

I'm in the process of the 14b swap myself. :cool:I was fortunate enough to get all the oil/coolant feed lines with my 14b turbo. I blocked off my oil filter housing feed, and used the 14b oil feed from the head. Super easy to do!The stock 1g j-pipe is useless pretty much, so plan on...
I understand the concern, and I'm aware of how terrible it would be if it leaked. It will not leak though. If you read what i did, and understand exactly the process I completed, then you'd agree. It sounds a bit odd, but it was a mint recycle of the existing OFH turbo feed fitting. Im really...
Pretty much stock 1995 TSI AWD 5spd, I get about 24mpg combined on average, with 28 mpg being my best on a 300 mile road trip down to Virginia beach. I have a heavy foot, and little patience for terrible drivers.
Dsmtuners is hands down one of the best car forums i have had the pleasure of being a member of.Just start reading here, pretty much any question you have has already been answered, has 200 pictures, and 4 videos pertaining to it. It's fantastic, lol.
I hear that, Im ordering my FMIC kit tomorrow, which will eliminate any ghetto rigging with the intake pipes.Im pulling my Ecu and getting ECMlink very soon as well.Already upgraded the fuel pump.I took the Talon off the road, I'm taking my time and getting all the parts I need. Working...
the 1000 cc injectors would leave room for future upgrades, I'd rather buy one set of 1000 and use ECMlink to control them, then keep buying slightly bigger injectors for every turbo upgrade I do in the future. Im running the stock 450's for awhile.Im not using a 1g SMIC, I just stated that...
I got the O2 sensor out, but it mauled the sensors threads upon removal, so im going to chase the housing before I install my freshie sensor.Whats the thread/size of O2 sensor bung? My buddy has every tap known to man, I just don't know what size it is.I decided to sell off some of my unused...
Its cold out, and i have been sickly, so i havnt buttoned up the talon yet.I did try to remove the stock 1g O2 sensor, which is proving to be quite a challenge, I was heating the o2 housing with mapp gas and it still wouldnt break free. What a pain in my testicles. So im soaking her in PB...
What Turbo are you running?I was wondering how it would bolt up with the 14b,Im also still trying to use my turbosmart dual port BOV, which atm has a flange for a Mazdaspeed 3, i need to figure that out, they dont make an adapter for DSMs.I will have to talk to a sales rep before I...
Its been a whole lot of fun doing the swap, and I have learned quite a bit from rebuilding and swapping turbos.I think I'm going ghetto coupling for now, Im looking into getting a FMIC kit,VRSF 2G FMIC Front Mount Intercooler Kit : 95-99 Eclipse & Talon Turbo 2G DSMSo i'm not sure...
Im feeding from the head, and i slotted out the 2g oil return line. So it is all good on the oil, pending leak check of course.I snipped off the OFH turbo feed hardline(with side cutting pliers, which kinks the line closed as part of the cutting process), right at the fitting on the OFH. then...
Well I have the hardline turbo feed from the OFH, I may take out the 10 inch section that goes from the turbo to a coupling midway towards the OFH.Then I will get a smaller section and a banjo bolt end, which would solve the issue completely, and without having to mailorder anything.I have a...
So I ripped out the T25.I have the 14b bolted on.Coolant lines are good.Exhaust will bolt right upIm getting boinked hard by the oil feed and return lines.14b is a banjo feed, T25 is a hardline feed. So im going to have to get a banjo end that I can thread the hardline end into, just...
UpdateI ported my o2 housing, I removed the "step" and really took out some material.
I have not gasket matched it yet, i was just all about getting rid of that step.I just rebuilt my 14b, it was quite simple in practice, cleaning everything proved way more intensive than the actual...
