Well the radio was working fine when I bought it. Everything is wired up, only thing is that the constant 12v wire has so power so there is an open in that circuit. Does that circuit run from the underhood fuse box straight to the radio or does it run to the inside fuse box too?
Whats up guys, I just got a 96 tsi awd and the guy before me had the radio wired in wrong. The constant 12v wire has no power so he wired that circuit all the way into the ignition switch. I've read a few threads where people had no power at the 12v constant wire and they just ran a wire from...
When you're doing a leak down test make sure both intake and exhaust valves are completely closed on that cylinder. Like stated above you will hear air going past the rings.
Nice find. Also don't mess with the BISS screw until you have fixed all your boost leaks and also clean throttle body, if its too dirty it can cause low idle.
That sucks man, I hate to see things like this. Especially when it was someone else's fault, good luck with things and like everyone else said, sue the he11 out of her lol. :dsm:
Reading stuff like this makes me want to go to this "mechanic" and raise hell. First of all if at first you got your car making a noise after he "fixed" it, he should NOT charge you to check it out WTF.
Hitting a brick wall definitely sounds like fuel cut but looking at the log doesn't look like it at all. I really wonder is plugs will really cause that:hmm:
If your car is auto sounds like something transmission related as far as your car not moving. As far as no start, like mentioned earlier check basics, fuel spark timing etc. Does your car crank at all?
+2, the best route is to go ahead and get ecmlink but if you don't want to spend the money on it you have better options than a SAFC. If you will stay around 300hp you can just get a wally 190 with no need of an afpr.
Do your tailights (not brake lights)and bumper sidemarker lights not come on when you turn the headlight switch to on? Easy thing to do is just start by rechecking everything you touched when you replaced the radio.
Ecmlink is the way to go for DSM's. Although I have never used AEM I have read that it is more difficult to tune with while link is simple and works great. You have a whole community of DSM'ers using it and most will be glad to help if you have any questions while there are far less dsm'ers...
This is a horror story man, since the first thread you made the first time. I don't what could be causing it to walk so fast, only thing that pops in my mid is the crank itself is the same one, from what I've read once they crankwalk there is basically no fixing the crank. Good luck man.
420a is a great engine but if you want to go fast you're better off with a 4g63. Like most people already mentioned, AWD is the way to go, only con about it is more parts to break. Just check the car out very well, look for any rust if you find any stay away from it. Good luck.
Welcome. If I were you I would just start with a compression test to see the health of the engine, if compression is still really good I wouldn't worry about rebuilding it unless you plan on boosting it. I've seen quite a few 420a's hit the 300k mark.I would however check the condition of the...
Thanks man. Looking at pg 49, is the j/b the fuse box inside? If it is what is the dedicated fuse in it? Also I don't see anything for the interior lights
Hey guys, a few weeks ago when driving down the road at night my inside lights (ipc and hvac controls) went out as well as the taillights. Next morning when I went to check they were working once again so I didn't worry about it until last night they went out again. I've checked fuse and relay...
That's what I was thinking. $3800 seemed way too high, being that ecmlink is the most expensive thing on the list. Anyways like mentioned already, all you really need to gain more power than what you have is get a bigger turbo and sell that t-25.
Look in the classifieds in the part out section. You shouldn't have a problem finding one, yet while you're replacing the turbo you should consider upgrading.
I like both ps and xbox, I'm more in favor of the xbox one because I like xbox exclusives better. I've read about the rumors on how xbox will not allow people to play used games and all those things, I hope they're just rumors, that would be a huge disappointment. I will probably just wait a...
Sounds like your friend didn't put something together like it was before. Check all your lines, like the one for your wastegate. If you can upload a picture that would allow us to help you better.
If you don't feel a leak when the car is running I really wouldn't worry about it, but if you're going to remove the turbo I would go ahead and buy a used one from the classifieds. While it's out I would go ahead and port it as well.
Lol have to agree with you here, not all of us are lucky enough for our girlfriends/wives to agree on our passion for our cars. OP, welcome. I love those wheels, if only they were 17'' or maybe 18''.
Use those $300 on maintenance, with the timing belt and tensioner being most important. I would consider deleting your balance shafts as well. If you are new to DSM's read read and read your eyes out. Keep saving up your money for more maintenance like fluids and suspension parts. After that you...
