Before I went to 2g maf and intake I just gutted my can left just enough to lock the filter down... its free and will have all the gains as putting a cai. Should be one of the first free mods you can do until you really start getting into the car and spending unneeded cash.
I know better that to put a breather on it that's allowing metered air to vent to atmosphere. I was more or less asking about the empty can being an issue if everything is installed properly... Thanks for the point in the right direction.
I have pr fmic I had installed on my 1gb. I had to delete my ac due to piping being to short. I'm going to be installing it on my 1ga soon but with longer silicone couplings going through the core support. This should give me the clearance I need to keep my ac.
Ok everyone been a while since I updated this. I blew my motor and decided to gut the car will have a full auto swap if anyone's interested. I just got tired of fighting the previous owners screw ups and figured is spend the money gettin my 89 tsi back up and goin. Thanks for the help, just pm...
I'd def keep it white and go black top, panda style. It's usually a good idea to keep the base color unless your going have all the door jams painted as well.
I'm a little lost here... don't see why the eBay catch can won't work if installed properly, between the vc and intake pipe. If you guys could actually explain why its a bad idea to install. It would be a great help.
If your downpipe bolts strait to your cat back with no test pipe or cat you should only need 2 gaskets. Unless I'm missing somethin. O2-downpipe and downpipe-catback
Just a little update. Ok boost leak test has revealed some insightful information, and I've rebuilt throttle body and have new injector seals on the way this should take care of the boost leak. Also installing an innovate lc-1 with db blue gauge today, and the tcu is off at a repair shop so...
Hey guys still new to the fourm but I'm rolling a 92 tsi auto. It's got a 16g, fmic, evo 8 560 injectors, walboro 255 with retire, safc2, hacked maf, 2g o2 housing, just a gutted cat and "fart can" for exhaust. Having some tcu issues but when I get it right it should def be a runner.
I'm having the exact same problem with my 92 tsi. Our mods are spot on the same... I've done everything the op post did plus checked ecu, tps, and maf to no avail. My car still won't rev past 4500 and shifts when it wants when it shifts at all. It spends alot of time stuck in either 2nd or...
