so I finally got around to installing my external oil cooler. I also installed an oil thermostat that opens at 180°-190° let me know what you think. Just wondering if I would need to put a small puller fan on the back or if that would be overkill/waste of money?
I was told that it would help keep the engine bay temps lower but I did not measure the temp before installing the blanket, so I guess piece of mind...maybe some of the other guys out there using them can chime in?
I found them first on ebay and then I went direct to their website and contacted them to make sure it would fit my BEP .70ar turbine housing before I purchased it. When they said it would fit I asked if they would sell it to me for what is advertised on ebay and they did. So far the blanket is...
So I just installed a new turbo blanket last week. Its made by THERMAL ZERO and the company is located in Cincinnati Ohio and they advertise that all their products are made in the USA. It was only $65 delivered and it installed easily and fit well. I will try and post some updates as time goes on.
thanks for all the info, I will have to research some more and see what I want to do, btw the headlights are not tinted they are covers that i take off if I am driving at night because my stock headlights are so weak, lol.
Has any one tried these LED lights yet, just curious because my stock headlight brightness sucks!http://www.ebay.com/itm/OPT7-H13-9008-LED-Headlight-Conversion-Kit-60w-CREE-6000K-White-Light-Bulbs-/121706165873?fits=Make%3AMitsubishi%7CModel%3AEclipse&hash=item1c5640b671&vxp=mtr
I think they are a GM fuel injector, I had a set before the FIC ones I have now and they were like 42 lb injectors? http://www.injectorwarehouse.com/injectors/gmc/mp3058.htm
Josh, closest place that really knows these cars is Strictly Performance in Kalamazoo. Just read up on the forums here and post questions, this is a great forum and there is a lot of knowledgeable people here that will answer questions. Do all the maintenance first before you do any mods. I just...
I put prothanes on all 4, probably got a little over 2 hours in doing the whole job, just listen to what everyone above said and you should have no problems, I sand blasted my aluminum parts to clean them up and I think it looks good now
These are 18" wheels with 225/40R18 Kumho tires and Eibach Pro springs on KYG shocks and 15mm spacers to clear the brembos I have no issues hitting the wheel wells
I have the Eibach pro kit on my 2G and I just did the brembo conversion so I had to go with a set of 15mm spacers all the way around to clear the calipers and I dont have any issues, so you should be ok.
Has anyone used this looks pretty cool it also has the capability for wideband and data logging and works with your phone or tablet? Kinda pricey at $200http://www.14point7.com/products/idash
Hi, I am getting ready to do this conversion on my 97 GSX and was wondering if the stock brake lines will work on the brembos or will I need to get some evo front brake lines? Also if I read right, I wont need lines for the rear those I can re-use? thanks in advance.
Thanks Justin,I bought this used H1C off craigslist knowing that it need to be rebuilt. However when I got it, it was worse than what the person described. It needs a new compressor wheel, seal plate, and heat sheild + the rebuild kit and I dont know if the turbine shaft is ok or not? Should...
Hi, I bought a used Holset big H1C that needs to be rebuilt. I found a place in California that has a rebuild kit call BAE turbo systems. Has anyone used this place before?thanks
Sorry I borrowed that pic. The motor was rebuilt about 14k ago and I am not sure if the head was surfaced and I dont know what the depth of the oil transfer slot either, I could pull the valve cover and measure it if I know where it is. It is a 7 bolt head and bottom. thanks again
So I just ran into the same problem. Bought new set of Toplines off ebay, bled them down, pumped them up with new oil, bled down then installed. Drove about 300 miles waiting for the noise to stop. Removed each lifter and roller and inspected, found 3 suspect ones replaced them with ITW brand...
Basically a stock rebuild, I guess it was Porter's fancy way of making you think that you were getting more?? LOLActually it runs really good, but I had an issue with something coming loose in the valve train are that my local mechanic fixed, and then they put a new waterpump that only...
I have allways loved the look of the 2G Eclipses, even before the movie "Fast and Furious", so this all started about 3 years ago when I got a good deal on a 96 RS. It was fun to drive but 140hp is kinda depressing but at least it was a stick! After a summer I sold that and moved up to a 97 GST...
Ok so is it possible for brand new 3g lifters to be bad? I just swapped out my lifters about 200 miles ago and while it is quiet at idle it has a horrible tick around 2500-3000k rpm sometimes so bad the knock sensor comes on?? How do I check to see if a lifter is good/bad? thanks in advance, and...
This is what I did, it does not hide the FMIC as good as I would like but at least it protects it a little, lol. Got off ebay for like $20 for a piece 3/8" thick x 12"x 36"
I am getting ready to swap out my loud ass clicking lifters for some new revised 3G lifters, my question is do I reuse my current valve cover gasket (only has 10k on it) or do I just go and buy a new set? thanks in advance.

I am getting to do the EVO brake conversion on my 97 GSX. I have the brembos and the brackets but I need the rotors and pads. Has anyone had any experience with the Rotorpros rotors and pads? I can beleive how expensive the EVO rotors are, holy crap! Any info would be greatly appreciated.
