I haven’t driven my eclipse in a while and it’s been bothering me, so I’d like to finally resolve this.I got my car back after a few years of not having it. Unfortunately the exhaust has been messed with. With the sound laws out here being enforced I want to make it as legal as possible.For...
simple title. I have done this swap before, but the previous swapped involved banjo bolts so it was a painless swap.Anyways, I picked up a set of calipers from a 2G a couple of years ago and noticed that they were not the banjo bolt style calipers. The seller did include brake lines.My...
I have to be missing something here, or the zeitronix unit is toast. I know dsm link can simulate, and it is very tempting. But I would rather use the money to tackle my extreme knock/phantom knock issue first.Does the zeitronix ground have to be wired into the sensor ground pin on the ecu...
Hello all. I am dealing with some strange issues in regards to my narrowband simulation.I was dealing with a lean condition and knock counts as high as 19 under any boost of 10psi or more. I had some Major exhaust leaks which I have fixed, and figured I would toss in a wideband. My friend...
So I did some researching, and I found the the AEM big brake kit had 12.5" rotors. Are there any rotors at 12.5" that would work as the rotor replacement?Unfortunately, I had gotten rid of the AEM rotors some time ago without realizing that they were a replaceable two piece setup.Thanks.
I still have my AEM front big brake brackets. Unfortunately, I do not have the rotors anymore.I am wanting to increase the size rotor that my 1g uses. Does anybody know what rotor would fit these brackets with the 2g dual piston calipers? Thanks.
That is great to hear. Indeed, prior to me picking the car up, it had sat for some time. I will flush it out as I am cleaning everything up under the hood anyways.
Images of what I have found. I was assuming this is a head gasket, but I am not entirely sure as the engine oil and coolant in the thermostat housing appear to be clean. Any ideas?
Perfect! That clarifies everything. I am in the process of running 4ga to the alternator, etc. But it seems that I have found another issue regarding some sludge in the reservoir. I'll save that for another thread. Thanks again.
Ok that actually clears up a lot for me. I have included an image, is that the correct numerated order? When I replace the 90 transistor harness with the 91+ harness in the car and I splice the wires, do i just tape off wires 5 and 6 as they will not be connected to anything? Everything else...
I have been in the process of restoring a 90 gsx. The power transistor harness is missing the clip and is a bit broken. On any type of pull, the connector loosens and the car shuts off. Zip tying does not seem to be working.I have a 91+ transistor and connector that I would like to splice in...
I was avoiding pulling from the ofh because of the pressure that would be going into the stock 14b.How would I go one size up on the head? Sounds like the banjo bolt and it's fitting wouldn't work if I did that.Is npt a bad idea? I felt that putting an npt to -4an fitting would seem...
Or... Would it be wise to tap 1/4" npt and install: http://www.jayracing.com/mobile/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=26741Then run an ss line to the oil port on the turbo?Any help is greatly appreciated.
After not having my 1g for a few years, I felt the need to finally get another one. The car is nice and mostly stock except for some of the crap that was attempted to it. Such as a crap 16g ebay turbo which I swapped for a 14b. There was an ungodly amount of RTV in odd places. The one that stuck...
Scary thought. But possible, it would make a very god awful noise from the transmission, the fork is thin on the end so it would not take much rubbing to grenade all inside the bell housing.
Did you get the flywheel stepped to the spec of the clutch?? Also check to make sure there are no kinks or dramatic twists in the shifter cables..Edit:If you feel it may be binding.. Try running through the gears with the shifting arms on the transmission itself.. Do they go into gear...
I thought I was alone... Situation has been crap.. I have been unemployed for almost a year man... I did everything for my company but they found "cheaper" work.. I guess it is good as they are going belly up...It will get better! Its the ####ed up economy that's turning the businesses into...
I wouldn't worry! If it goes out on you aain. Let them know you will pay the difference for it.. They did it for me.. But I also told that would be the last time they see me for another alternator replacement. I think it worked ;)
Because it actuality takes A brain to build a halfway decent car... The messages posted from the honda users above don't seem to have much of a working brain... Let Alone a brain that doesn't work...Fasted 4 cylinder in the world?? I guess a search would answer that question...........
Greetings from the riverside area!! Shoot this way one of these days, we often get the dsm's together an either barbecue or get something to eat on our cruise.. Either way, beats not doing crap. And food is Always good..
I know exactly where your coming from... I lost/quit my job last year over an incredibly stupid "on they're part" decision.Anyways getting the unemployment was a joke in itself... Anyways fight em... #### the big companies.. Sorry for the harsh words... But man reading this pisses me off...
Tired... But not sure if anyone recommended adjusting the TPS as it will affect idle majorly if it is out of range. Please correct me of I am wrong..1g = 10
2g = 1-2
That actually looks pretty damn good... I don't even drink coffee.. And for anyone that says it is homosexual... Sorry only winecoolers are for the homosexuals...
Can you runt the trans through the gears directly from the shifting arms???Also, is your trans rebuilt or is this a new one that was never installed in the car? Will explain alot..
Loggers are awesomely cheap now! The kicker is they can scan your CEL. If the system is holding pressure for atleast 30 seconds then that is ok.. Have you checked the FIAV for leaks or clogs? Also..Have you bypassed the FIAV? If so, don't... The FIAV has a wax style signal.. If you...
Agreed.. Check caps for leaks and the enclosure of the ecu for burn marks.. Pretty tell tale off the bat.+1 on ecu.. If you have a buddy with one.. It is a cheap and easy test.
Hah hah.. That is just so true... I can't even keep count as to how many "wrong" parts were sent over. Then trying to tell them the parts is wrong... That's another story..
At autozone today and asked then for a blow-off valve gasket. The girl next to the guy i was asking immediately begins to chuckle.. The older gentleman went off to say that he is pretty sure they don't carry it and he has never heard of it in his life..Suprisingly I didn't get mad.. I left...
Hah hah hah! Too funny! I think that totally makes up for making fun of some music videos, For those who don't get it! Please click the Youtube link.. You will understand! :thumb:
The injectors, or fuel rail would be the closest to the Engine. But no, I would not change the fuel filter twice. Maybe once... Wait a couple months then do it again. When you can change the fuel filter.. If it is not completely nasty upon removal (When you remove the fuel filter give it...
I forgot to add that the Brights have been disabled since I owned the car as the guy who owned it before me installed a crap xeon kit.. This kit caused the car to have LOW'S only removing the brights completely :nono: I did a measure of voltage on the circuit and am very much under the maximum...
I'm guessing it's not happening in 5th because the engine is not rev'ing as high as the previous gears to cause the problem. Though I could be wrong here.. Drivetrain would somewhere to start as well...
You could.. It won't hurt anything but I would check the injectors.. If the fuel filter has not been changed in a while it will have lost it's effectiveness.. Allowing sediment pass the filter itself.Make sure they are not clogged as a side effect from this..EDIT:5 Gallons is WAY...
Hey Gus, Tell Sam I said hey.. Thanks for the rush on that head gasket, I was sweating blood..Anyways the RRE Flywheel is fantastic and has held up for almost 2 years. With the crap stock clutch I was running at the time.
