I got my 92 GST from the original owner. It made it to 229k before blowing the head gasket. Mostly everything on that car is original. Even the clutch. I most recently got a 93 TSI w 99k.

I'd say put the motor and trans in from the top. Ironic that you have them stripes on your car. Some old Mopar guys do the motor from the bottom too. I do mine from the top. Here is a pic of my Mopar.

There is a special tool to get the retaining clip off. The tool should line up w the crank arm to remove the clip. U may want to cover w a rag so the clip doesnt go flying away. the clip needs to be installed on the crank to reinstall. when it is installed on the crank just push the crank back...
