Chasing an issue with a vr4 I picked up recently
Cylinder 1 will randomly drop the injector, causing a miss. Pulled wires and plugs to confirm spark, coil seems strong.Have swapped injectors around and tried some spare ones from another set (stock blue dsm 450)
All ohm out within specI'm...
Had a 3 inch intake sticking out of bottom of bay and did same thing, drove home gm maf was acting crazy, take all pipes off and drain if necessary, and oil change to be safe should be fine. If air filter dry shouldn't be much in there
Wastegate should still open at 15psi with the bcs connected, allowing the pressure to pass by at 12-13, with the wastegate not opening fully till 15, granted it may start to crack open before that
Id start with battery connections/ engine grounds or reach down and check starter commections. If all connections are good, and it doesnt crank over, hammer to the starter and if it starts after that buy a new starter
Thread from the dead lol
If plugs are new and at .028 and still getting spark blowout, throw new wires on first and grab a multimeter to check coils out.
.035 would be worse if your blowing spark at .028
What plugs are in the carHad a "friend" try an unload what he though was a gst about to...
Just seems like a reduntant answer that is revealed in that thread, spool or airflow. Pick one, how do you drive your 4x4, WOT mudding? Go twin scroll or big t3, low rpm torque need situations? bep
Is the 2.4 gonna fall on its face like a 2.0 with a t25, no. Would you make more power with a bigger ar hot side compared to .55, yea"Will the .55 mitsu housing choke my top end? I know it limits flow to around 50 lbs or so, but unsure if it actually hurts on top end power"
It hurts as much...
Black are stock 450s, if weather was cold you'd prob be hittin fuel cut every car is a lil different. You are definitely maxing those injectors to 100% duty cycle. I'd check to make sure its not a 14b too.
You should take a vacuum line from boost source straight to wastegate and cruise at 12lbs...
Can be draw through or blow through doesn't matter, amount of air is the same .
put between bov and TB if you want to vent the bovMay have to tweak tune by a click here and there but should be the same, and will still run if you blow piping off, still need to boost leak test so turbo isn't...
Pulling the head and replacing valves isn't a minor repair. Prepare for a bill, a big one, consider the head is probably toast if its out of time. make sure they are DSM savy and are aware of the swapped components your car has
Every car is different with fuel cut, for instance stock car with pump (rewired) maxxin out 450s id hit fuel cut at 18-22 psi depending on air density on a eBay 16g, that t25 will go quick spiking to 20 especially with miles on it.Gj scrapping that plastic bov, make sure all other leaks are...
I have a trim piece and holder and have a nexus 7 in my gs300, what are you doing for power? Take it out to recharge? Cig lighter power doesn't quite keep up when using gps/netflix in carEdit: Watched whole video sorry for posting before, anyone know what kinda of output it would take to keep...
Yea what's with grinding? Hopefully starter, not fully engaging, is it cranking faster than usual? Mine maid all sorts of noises when the balance shaft belt snapped and made the timing skip and destroy the head ( worst case)Put the plugs back in except one and very spark by letting it arc on...
11-12 psi on a 16g isn't exactly makin power. Pull hills? What do you mean going fast uphill? And when your wastegate was bad, do you mean it never opened? Or never closed? You haven't mentioned spool time, once your at a certain boost level the wastegate isn't going to make it faster or slower...
If oil is clean too and you honestly just did a comp test, id say your fine. Who knows what mixture of coolant/water/ additive the car has had in its life and is coating the coolant passages
Both tcu confirmed working in other cars? After a quick google, seems confirmed that low voltage will send the tcu into limp mode. And its obvious alternator is bad or battery trashed.
I'd park it and do everything except pull the block, I lf you wanna enjoy it for times to come. Pull the valve cover, see if it has OEM headstuds, pull the pan, check the rods out, id pull the head, see if they are OEM pistons, you can re use arps if it has them, home saying its good for 23 lbs...
Stock clutch isn't enough, need to upgradeNot familiar with other problems related to the 420a, you need an upgraded clutch, and other goodies to support the turbo ( hopefully the car is tuned for that turbo, and has the appropriate supporting mods, headstuds, injectors, fuel pump, etc.) id...
Title 42 is easy enuf
Where I live tons of turbo 2gs pop up at salvage, finding parts is not difficult by any means, most the time the 4g63 is complete as well. Plenty of things you are gonna be researching and everything you need to know pertaining to resurrecting that Gst is on this forum...
I'd be looking at timing related components, and blt.Stripped gears binding from time to time? No
Op mentioned it felt like clutch slipping, I'm guessing in the sense of car not pulling as it should and not in the sense of rpms shoot up and clutch slips, considering the 5th gear comment...
Heat isn't a problem, jet boats are the easiest plumbed , cold lake water running through motor consistently, you will need custom tunes as well, cold coolant will basically have the stock ecu maps in cold start fuel mapsInboard/ outboard different than jet, outboard especially considering...
Better be a light boat, dont expect any crazy mph, at all, unless setup with a very large impeller and wait for boat to plain over and get going, and with direct drive and the load being put on the 4g, it will be in boost always, and you'd be better off with a v8 in there, would be better of...
