Something doesn't look right with these injectors. Please Advise!

Because, I plan on using a SAFC. I can't control 1050cc injectors with a SAFC. I may go as large as 650cc injectors but for now I'm content with a set of 550s. The bottom end in my car has 172k so I don't plan on pushing it too hard.

Something doesn't look right with these injectors. Please Advise!

Thank you cmehlxl and donniekak. Both of you provided very helpful information. I sent an email to FIC at the same time I posted this thread. They responded and it turns out that the injectors are meant to be that way. This is because they are 550cc injectors that were modified to have a 1050cc...

Something doesn't look right with these injectors. Please Advise!

I appreciate the reply. So, do the nozzles in the pictures look normal for FIC 1050cc injectors? I couldn't find a picture on the internet for comparison. I just found it a little concerning that it looks like there is solder on each injector where the plate would be.

Something doesn't look right with these injectors. Please Advise!

I just purchase some used FIC injectors online. Overall, they look to be in very good condition. However, I noticed something that is bothering me. While inspecting the injector nozzles, I noticed that they don't look the same as other aftermarket injectors I've owned. What I think is called a...

2G Has anyone ordered knuckle kit MR325010 or MR325009 lately?

Yes, I've already been on that page and that doesn't prove anything because there is no way of telling if it is up to date. This question was posted when Extremepsi was closed and I was in the middle of ordering parts. I was able to determine that it was up to date as of February 2014 since I...

2G Has anyone ordered knuckle kit MR325010 or MR325009 lately?

Thanks for the reply. This was a question I posted on the weekend when no shop or dealer was open. I was in the middle of ordering parts online and I just wanted a quick answer so I could continue ordering the parts I needed. I've already ordered what I needed anyway. On a side note and in...

2G Has anyone ordered knuckle kit MR325010 or MR325009 lately?

I'm just looking for a quick answer about whether the part numbers mentioned still pertain to a kit or if Mitsubishi changed the part numbers over to knuckles only. Checking on jnztuning.com isn't going to necessarily inform me of a recent change. I really want someone's take who very recently...

2G Has anyone ordered knuckle kit MR325010 or MR325009 lately?

Has any ordered knuckle kit MR325009 or MR325010 within the last 6 months from the dealership or an online Mitsubishi vendor outside of ExtremePSI? The reason I ask is because every vendor excluding ExtremePSI shows only the knuckle in their parts catalog when I look up those two part numbers...

What Turbo is this? [Merged] Turbo ID Identification

I'm not trying to start anything since you have a great reputation when it comes to turbocharger knowledge and I really do appreciate the help. What Turbo is this? [Merged] Turbo ID Identification

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the late response. I found out that the turbo I have is actually a U-Trim. I can't find much information on it except for a few posts over on a RX7 forum and a post on a Mustang SHO forum. The U-Trim is a 60 trim T04B while a V-Trim is a 63 trim. Unfortunately...

What Turbo is this? [Merged] Turbo ID Identification

I really need help identifying a garrett turbo I recently purchased. I've searched online for about 45 minutes and the only thing I've figured out is that it appears to have a 60 trim compressor wheel. The wheel has 8 blades and I calculated the compressor trim using this formula: Trim = 100 x...

    Need Opinion/Advice on Cam Blemishes

No, most of the blemishes are smooth and don't catch on my finger nail. However, some of the blemishes on the cam lobe in the one picture aren't smooth and do catch my fingernail. Based on the pics, what grit would you recommend? Also, is it safe to use an emry cloth on the cam journals. I'm...

Resolved "Early 95" Timing Belt Tensioner Question

Hey everyone. I recently ordered a timing belt tensioner MD308086 for my build. I have a 97 GST but I'm going to be using an engine out of a 95 GSX. It turns out that early 95 engines have a different tensioner than later 2g motors. Unfortunately, I can't make out the VIN number on the 95 block...

Can Broken CV Axle Cause No Reverse Issue?

Thank you for the replies. The reason I brought this up is because the previous owner had reverse go out on him with no warning. Can Broken CV Axle Cause No Reverse Issue?

I have a 98 GST with an automatic transmission. The car can be driven forward but not in reverse. So, I figured the issue was one of the usual culprits like a faulty valve body, a bad solenoid, or a defective front clutch. Long story short, I decided to start using the car for parts. Tonight, I...

    14b Compressor Wheel Swap Question

Thanks for the quick answer. I wasn't ware that MHI turbos are component balanced. So, I should be able to simply take a set of c-clip pliers, remove the compressor housing, loosen the center nut, swap the wheel, put everything back together, and I will have a good useable turbo, correct?

    14b Compressor Wheel Swap Question

Hey everyone. I have a question about swapping compressor wheels. I can purchase a 14b turbo from a guy I know for very little money. But, the compressor wheel has bent fins. Can I swap a good spare 14b compressor wheel in place of the bad one without having to balance the turbo?

    temp. gauge?!

There are two temp sensors, a primary and a secondary one. Both are located on the thermostat housing. The temperature gauge uses the signal from the smaller secondary temp sensor. If that sensor goes bad then the gauge won't work. If I were you I would start there. Good luck!

Hesitation or clutch slipping when cold??

Start diagnosing the car by testing the clutch. You can do this by going out on the highway. Running Lean After Boost Leak?

That doesn't make sense. I assume you didn't but did you change any of the settings on your AFC. Also, did you have the intake off at anytime. The only way I see this happening is if there is a leak in your intake before the turbo but after MAF sensor or if you were messing with a AFC. Weird :hmm:

    RPMs acting crazy

It sounds like your throttle cable is sticking. You can check it by taking your car for a drive. Whenever the car starts to act up put the car in neutral and keep your foot off the gas pedal. If the RPMs go up on their own then your throttle cable or throttle body is sticking. Good luck!
