I had to part with my Spyder when I had my son :( Looking to get a new DSM. I think Saturday nights at Sonic are still a go. I have been spending most of my down time in Detroit lately so I'm kind of out of the local loop :/

I can't say that I am complaining on the answers of a nine year old post.I am currently driving a stock Eclipse Spyder GS with the 4G64 2.4L SOHC and am looking to make the addition of a 4G63T head and swap from an Automatic transmission to a manual transmission keeping it with the 2.4L...

I know this post is a little old, but i'm going to throw my two cents in anyway. I'm currently doing some research as I am looking to overhaul my Eclipse Spyder GS into a manual car with a 4G63 top end... I stumbled across the website below and it had some useful information. Hope it helps....

Replaced the alternator. Idle is a little better, but that is all that fixed for me... :/ Still no luck and out of ideas.

I will have to look at the ignition switch... I have a scan tool that has been reading the RPMs at 300-400 when idling, it has choked itself out a few times now.

All my fuses are good and I have replaced damn near every relay... :/ Anywhere special I should be checkin for bad grounds or wires? I have redone where the remote start was as it was hacked out...Thanks for the responses guys!

My headlights won't shut off without unplugging the battery, Stereo will not come on, no climate control, had to unplug the horn because it will not shut off, the dome lights will not come on at all, when the door is opened it will not turn the dome lights on or chime like it is suppose to...

1. I envy you for being able to put your top down in February... 2. Mine did the same thing last summer. Replaced a switch and no further problems. Temperamental little bugger.

Also, as a second thought, try checking out your fuel pump... If you can get it to start when you pump the gas at the right time and it stalls when you are not actively pushing on the gas pedal that may be your problem...

I would get the alternator checked. I agree that the occasional grind is probably holding the key over too long. When my alternator in my other car went to crap it took the battery with it... It happens.

Sounds simple, but you said you just bought it, have you checked your plugs and wires? They make a way bigger difference than people give them credit for.

Mileage depends on what you are going to do to the car really. When I look at these cars I look for something with a solid body and as much of a solid trans and motor as I can. Everything mechanical is fixable as long as you keep good maintenance. If you are going to be putting in a good amount...

Mine just did something like that... Granted the wiring on mine has been pretty wonky lately, and my coilpack is split (don't even ask me how), my third cylinder plug wire was melted at the connection... I would check there first.

I busted a belt on my Eclipse and it took out my crank position sensor and it wouldn't even turn over, not even a single revolution of the engine... Is your check engine light on? Your best guess would be checking out those codes fist. Hope you are back up and running soon. =))

That's exactally it, the whole metal floor is dead and gone... When it gets light out here I will take some pics. Tossing around the idea of a plexi glass like flooring, or metal. Just curious what others have done and some potential good ideas for something spunky.
