Ok thanks guys, I just hope that the transfer case itself hasn't run dry by the previous owner :)
I'll ask for prices at the dealer for the repair kit and all.
Hey guys,I have a '93 GSX that was imported from the US many years ago (not by me).
The transfer case yoke is leaking so I'm trying to talk to my dealer, and they say there is no recall on my car.
I call Mitsubishi North America, and they say there is no recall on my car and there never was...
Just in case someone else ever comes across this issue, if you only have 1 hot wire going to the relay under the hood (called WDO) and you don't get a second hot wire when putting the car on contact, check the fuse in the junction box (under the dash) called "heater relay", it's a 10A fuse. This...
Hey all,I got myself another DSM. It's a 1G AWD from 1992 with a 7 bolt block (turbo).
I also have a spare engine lying around, a 6bolt NA.
Now I'm wondering if I would be better off with keeping the 7bolt turbo, or swapping it with the 6bolt NA. I guess everything would fit to make it a 6bolt...
Hey guys,it was hard to take good (focused) pictures of this. This is what I saw when I pulled the exhaust manifold from my head. Exhaust port of cylinder 1 had a bit of fluid in it. It was not greasy, and it didn't have a particular smell.
I have no clue what could cause this, the head had a...
Ive got a new ACT flywheel from a friend here. But will it fit a 2G NA?Accordingly to there site it wont. But the one for the 2G will only work combined with pressure plate and disk.
I dont see why this would not fit. This is the flywheel.

Oke, I don't have a lot of time to search trough the forum to find an answer cause I need to go see a guy who is parting a EVO3 in a hour or so.I currently have a FWD. But i want to go AWD in the future.
What parts should i be looking for in a EVO 3? (drivetrain)Gearbox, transferbox, rear...
No, I think it are both front wheels. The car is not pulling to any side, but I get the feeling I'm not able to steer it in any other direction. That's why I think both front wheels lock up, If it were the wheels in the back I think the car would break out in a spin or slip. The tires are good...
Hi all,My car does not have ABS, and everytime I have to push the brakes a little bit harder than usual they lock up and I slip. I have the feelings it's either all wheels standing still or only the ones in the front because the car doesn't brake out. There are braking fluid leaks. Could it be...
Hi all,I started my car today for the first time in almost two weeks. I had to repair a broken wire leading to my transistor causing my car to run on only 2 cilinders. I repaired a boost leak caused by worn 0-rings from my injectors. The battery has been disconnected for a while.At...
I can't open the link you posted. But thanks for the tip!
After checking the ECU did give code 44 for bad coil or transistor. When it started it stalled and I noticed that cylinder 2 and 3 were out.
I measured the resistance of the coil, that looked fine. Spark plugs and wires look fine to me...
I forgot to mention it's a 1G turbo.
I already changed the spark plugs and the cables are only 6 months old.
The rpm's dropped to about 400, they are stable. When I get home later today I'll heck the cables just to be sure, and then the rest of the ignition
Hey guys! Please give this girl a hand and put your thinking caps on ;) I have no idea where to look with this problem.
The last few days my car didn't start really well.. when I started the car the rpm's where really low and it made a wobbely sound. But when I touched the gas the car...
Hey all,I pulled apart a spare MAS that I had and I saw that they messed with the wiring. It looks like they cut the wires on both sides and soledered them back together so the wires go from one side, to the other side.
Why would anyone do this? Is it a modification of some sort?
Also, based...
Thanks for the link! There's a lot information there! :)I will look into the catch cans. So a (Calan) catch can would eliminate ecessive crankcase pressure if it was due to a faulty pcv valve?
Can there be other causes besides the piston rings and the pcv valve? Or how could I be sure the...
Hi all, with all the problems I'm having, I'm thinking to just do a short block revision..
I have very little idea of all the parts that I will need... can you advise me on this?- bore and flatten the block in a shop (bore size?)
- crankshaft (use the stock one I have? 6 bolt)
- beam...
Hi all,I'm dealing with yet another problem and I was hoping for some advise..
I think I might have excessive crankcase pressure. The reason why I think this is in the past the dipstick popped out a bit. I thought this was because of wear on the dipstick, replaced with an other used one and...
Anyone knows what font is used for the "Laser RS" on the rear bumper?I am going to re-upholster the seats and want to embroider "Laser RS Turbo" on the seats.Or a nice image would do also. (not a bumper pic please)
Are there known places of power stearing leaks?Mines leaking and i cant see where.
Ive already deleted the cooler in the front. But on the subframe everything is dirty from the oil.
And its so hard to reach al the places to clean it.
Its dirty from the hard metal tube ontop of the...
Thanks for all the reactions!
I'm not planning to pull the pistons out of my turbo block and put them into the NA block, as you say it's not worth the risk.
If I can use the short block of a NA 6bolt I'm planning to do buy one and do a total revision on that one so that when it's ready I can...
It already was like that when I bought it. Could it be lean mixture going on for a long time?
Oil looks fine, I changed it a couple of times and it always looked fine.
He has had a new head gasket so if it's coolant it's not coming from the engine I guess
Hi all,Do you know what the reasons can be for getting a white deposit on the turbo inlet flange?
I saw it first when I did a head rebuild a couple of months ago.I wish I had taken a better picture of this. but you can see that it's all white inside. It's like a thick white crust, it's...
Oke, so the same is:Cast iron blok, cranck, rods. Not the same is:Oil squirters, pistons (compression ratio), exterior bolt on stuff.Ill go checking part numbers in ASA anyway on the exterior bolt on stuff anyway. Then there would be the next question.
If I rebuild anyway, do I need...
Ive got a short question. Are the internals of a 4G63 N/A the same as an 4G63T?
(oil sprayers for the cylinders and stuff?)
For rebuilding purposes.More explanation why:I'm driving a 1G Laser Turbo.
Done 125.000 miles.
Now, i can maintain it part by part as I am doing now. Nut...
I still didn't manage to solve the problem, at first I was thinking the valve cover was leaking, but this is dry. The bolts of the oil pan aren't the problem, and I don't see any problem with the rollers... it's so weird it seems to wear more at the outer edges, and on the side closest to the...
DSM1G90, what is about the rollers, how could they be causing the rubbing?97_4g63t, I already checked for bolts touching the tb, but I will double check it later today
I pulled off both lower and upper timing belt covers after I saw the rubbing mark on the belt. I spraypainted a piece of the belt and I'm driving withouth any covers at the moment. This to eliminate the possibility that it is rubbing the cover some were. And as you can see the paint is still...
Hey all,With my head rebuild I replaced my timing belt, the automatic tensioner and the bearings.
Technically everything looks fine and the tension is good.
BUT, there is some weird kind of wear going on at a portion of my belt. All the lettering is gone already after less than 1000 miles...
The exhaust manifold is heat painted, the other things are not. I'm planning on wrapping the manifold and downpipe. But I feel like this is just treating the symptoms not the cause.
I recently rebuild the head. I don't really remember if the problem was there before the rebuild as well.. I only...
Hey all,I was wondering if this a commen problem: the temperature below the hood is pretty high.it's not a cooling issue, the water temperature is good and stable. But when I open op the hood, and even the outside of the hood itself gets quite warm.
My set up is not so different from...
At this moment I checked the timing belt like 10 times. Every mark lines up perfect.
Yes i turned it 6 times and lined up perfect every time.
Hydraulic adjuster is according to manual. And the head is done by the correct sequence and torque.
Without the tool, cause i don't have it. But if the...
Hello all, here i am again with some trouble.'89 Laser turbo fwd.I had my head my timing belt teeth ripped off and so the head rebuilt.
I've got new exhaust valves, springs, seals, gaskets.
But also new camshafts... MD376211 (inlet) and MD376213 (exhaust).I've built everything back...
Thanks, I know it's a great deal.
The free shipping doesn't count for international orders, in my case this would mean $110 in shipping costs.Oh well, that's just the way it goes I suppose.
There is so much great stuff for sale for our cars, but only in the US :P
Half of my budget is...
Well, i ordered them for a 1g.All adverts for a 1g kit are this kits. And the advert never says anything about water or air cooled oil coolers!Ok, I am off adjusting them then...Ow, to clear things out. I am not looking for oil cooler hoses.
But for the water cooling hoses.
Just wonders...
I bought an 11-piece silicon water coolant hose kit.But they don't line up with my nipples and cant find a diagram for my car.
Its an 89 laser.
TB with the 2 vac lines on top and 2 on the side.
An air cooled oil cooler.Any one have a proper diagram or pictures?
My car is a plymouth laser (import from the US), so the mitsu dealer can't use my VIN number for ordering parts.
Thanks for the help so far!And HIGHPSI4, thank you for looking.p.s. and just for the record, I'm a she ;)
Hey all,Could anyone please provide me with a VIN number for a Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T from 1989?
It would make ordering parts SO much easier for me :)
